Thanks for the upload... It made me travel back in time when I used to play this at a friend's house back in 1987, I was 14 then... Hahahaha... The sounds are amazing... Cheers!!!
remember when games seemed so original? loved this one. there were, like, 20 games that were just outstanding for the Atari xl. my dad was a huge techie and kept saying there was no need to get a Nintendo cuz Atari was better... to this day, he only likes pc games; lol. when Doom came out, he started to play more video games as a computer nerd father than i did when i was a child. he probably mortgaged quite a bit of work income in lieu of playing right after work until early morning hours daily.
+satanicxela I've managed to complete all versions now without cheats including the new Master System release of it, the Amstrad was the toughest because of the cruel lazer room,...the timings were different so I often got killed, great game on all formats.
One of the first Atari 800xl games i played;)..And..i remember on my Atari 800xl version if you got too many of the free lives in the later level..the game would crash lol
My brothers and I always used to cheat in this game by selecting the 2 players mode and forming a team with Bruce Lee and the samurai against the ninja alone xD
I had this game as a teenager, always had friends over 2 play doubles on it. We'd do this thing 4 laughs, we'd take turns going back & forth with 1 of us being Bruce Lee & the other being the sumo wrestler, & we named the sumo "Moomoo" because it sounded like he was mooing. Whoever was playing "Moomoo" kept deliberately making him a klutz getting in Lee's way. & we'd say aloud: BRUCE: "HA! Here I COME, the treasure will be MINE! Outta of my way, ninja!" MOOMOO (big, loud, stupid, dopey voice): "MOOMOO HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" BRUCE: "NO, Moomoo!!! DON'T HELP ME!!! AAAAAAAA!!!" XD
Wish I still had my XE. This was one of the games I had. I was a kid, and I wasn't good enough at it to beat it. I got it and all my games from a family friend, and a lot of the other games I had were a little too sophisticated for me at the time (Debugger, M.U.L.E., etc.). I now wish I could revisit them as an adult. Maybe someone could also help me remember the name of one game I had for it. It was some time travel game where you were driving something and answering questions like "Who was the first man in space" and going through time gates?
I heard there is a code, that allowed 2nd player to play as Ninja, instead of Yamo. This version look pretty nice, but, it plays very slow, especailly compared to C64 and Speccy version.
Yeah it does seem to have a delay in response to the fire button being pressed, can get annoying when you wanna jump or kick at that precise moment only for you to wait a split second longer.
Wow - this actually looks a lot nicer than the c64 version /watch?v=jHzW7T-bwBc. Just a shame that they screwed up the color of Bruce. It is a well documented fact that he was indeed as yellow as Pac-man :) hi hi
I love this game, I still load it up and play it these days only on the C64, This is the first time I've seen the 800XL version.... as everyone is saying, it looks pretty much exactly the same on the C64 although the sound is WAY better on the C64 version.

You're bringing back some sweet memories. Thank you for posting this.
No problem.
Lovely! I used to play this with my younger sister, who played as the Sumo wrestler to help Bruce Lee :)
A classic! Thanks for the memory 🙂
One of the very best for the Atari 8-bit line..
Yep, I prefer the zx version though as it moves far quicker.

Oh god this game. loved it but it was super impossible for me when i was a child, i was so close to finish it tho.

Made my palms sweaty towards the end haha. Thanks your videos are great, i lived on the Atari 800XL and 65XE in Poland during the 80's.
This game was so ahead of its time
had a lot of fun with this game. actually still have it i think.
Probably my favourite game. Played it on my Atari 800.

I've longplayed the other versions of this too, such a classic!
Thank you, I went back to my past 13 years, I enjoy it.
Cool.
I have seen the Atari version first in 1985 and thought Atari computers were very interesting machines
My brothers and I always used to cheat in this game by selecting the 2 players mode and forming a team with Bruce Lee and the samurai against the ninja alone xD
+Diego Aracena
Wouldn't that be a bit boring eliminating the entire challenge aspect?!
not from our point of view, we considered that even funnier xD
Zeusdaz: Always more fun than challenge it's share a game with someone else dude
Ha ha we did the exact same thing :D and me, younger brother was always playing the Sumo guy... shame!
My older brother and I never knew the name and just referred to him as Meatball. First have I ever beat

How many Sundays I spent as a kid trying to complete this game! 😄
Played this one for hours at a time, awesome memories, will load it up on an emulator later.
Pure nostalgia
That's what my channel is all about :-)
What a great game :) I've also completed it. Great gameplay.
Krzysztof Ruszczyński Cheers, I've managed to complete all 8-bit versions without cheats, my fav is the spectrm version.

yes, I remebered...Atari had a lot of nice games
одна из первых игр которую я прошел!!!))
2 player versus, the 2nd player takes over the sumo.

@@ZEUSDAZI thought that was part of its charm, the clunkiness!
Да, было дело...
que son esas cosas verdes

That yellow eh?! lol
Jonas Rosenven WILLY THE WASP II - ZX SPECTRUM EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW
Good gameplay!. I played C64 version back then. This seems exact copy.
So I think C64 version maybe a lazy port and could have been even better ;)
Yes very similar indeed, but the version for me is the spectrum,...so addicted to it back in the day.

To be honest I actually prefer the spectrum version, it just played better to me :-)
C64 is better.Good version though
Ugggh.C64 best. Why is all of atari's audio hardware crap?
