I’m a grunger!!! Alternative 90s kid I have such great appreciation for some of these bands who were thrown under the hair metal umbrella Love/hate rocks
Really like this band. There several bands around this time that just didn’t get the recognition they should have. Great sounding album all the way through.
Im from Philly and played in a hair band thru the 80s and 90s and played NYC with these dudes a few times... The scene was killer. Jersey,Philly,NYC clubs were bangin.
Thank you guys for making my life better.I will never forget this album.if they play some of this tracks at my funeral I might get up for a couple of minutes to vibe with it.
Saw these at the old Marquee club in London on New Year’s Eve way back in the 90s,I can honestly say it was the best night of my life ever! They should have been huge, thanks guys.
Their debut album Blackout in the Red Room was recorded in 1989 and released on February 22, 1990. It reached No. 154 on the billboard 200. I always liked this album. I was shocked it did not do better, but times and music were changing very fast when it was released. So I'm very happy we got what we got!
If you think music is "crap" nowadays, you're obviously just listening to the same old shit and not actively looking for new music you might enjoy. Good music is out there. (yes even music that you would enjoy) Music didn't just "get bad," you just got old.
I'm 49 and these guys deserve more recognition most definitely. They didn't really come off to glam to me. They had a punk edge with some classic rock thrown in and a little modernism to even it out. I really love this album.
Talking about this online - they straddled the decade unfortunately- writing was on the wall for a lot of bands… they made it across it into the 90s barely, by which the landscape had changed massively. They didn’t stand a chance
Man.. I remember the ONE time this cool AF band came to play in UK in 90s, we were there, me and all my mates.. one of them had a broken leg but still he played on, crutches and all. LOVE YOU GUYS
I saw these guys at a club show when touring on the first record. I was already familiar with the entire album, so it was a treat to see the band play it up close. In my opinion, there was no better drummer that came out of the LA hair/glam music scene than this guy. His playing is incredibly tasteful and his chops are impeccable.
So...this is the video that was shown to me back in that day... When The Management hired me to be Back line and stage mgr.. I liked the shit... So....1 of the Rockin band's that had the pleasure....1992 -93 Miss ya...u know...👏✌💪
Long time since I heard this, bought Blackout when it came out. This song rocks and so does Blackout in the red room. Thanks for posting this..definitely memories!
I don't care! I love EVERY SONG! Always have, always will! Record companies suck! This coulda been top charts 1980s-2000s. Think 'don' F with me' today!
Nice band. To bad they don't got the recognition that they deserve 25 years ago. I hope Jizzy can ad some Love/Hate songs to the Quiet Riot repertoire. That would be awesome.
lived in L.A. when they got a deal...everybody really thought they were gonna break out...and yes...seen them at the whisky open for?.skid row with bach...man i,m old
i got to be there road crew around the *86 times ...really good band drinking and having fun . they had hard times of course lived on skid row and yeah all that broke ass fuck stuff flushing the toliey with rain water selling flowers great times i was 20 or so. really learned the Hollywood circuit. there was a band called DV8 but dont know what happened to them.
1990 was the first time i went to the US,comin' from Italy i remember vividly landing in NYC and see the Manhattan skyline just like in this video,i was super excited! We went straight to Philadelphia,it wasn't an holiday,we went there to trying to get a cure for my little brother in an institute specialized in brain injury. In a day off we went downtown and i immerse myself in a record store and bought some albums ,Blackout In The Red Room was one of them,i remember the cashier told me "this is a great record!",he was right!
@@tonyorsini5255 Hey Tony! In Philadelphia everything was fine, the doctors were super nice and knowledgeable, we treated my brother with their advice for many years, in July 1991 I went back to NYC and ended up meeting Love / Hate many times around clubs or just walking around the Village, I think they were recording their second album Wasted In America, which wasn't released yet, in October I saw them play at The Limelight, it was a great show!great memories.
I hate the music industry for promoting GnR etc instead of this great band I'm still so fukkin pissed off about it after all these years. Every single time I see/hear them I get MAD about it`. Peace and love. And HATE!
You can use your illusions let them take you where they may we live learn then sometimes its best to walk away me I'm just here holdin on to my only place today at least for now anyway I worked to hard for my illutions just ta throw them all away
Saw these guys back in 1991. It may have been late September or early October, me and a few friends went to see a couple of bands at a club Which held about 2000 people. Those two bands were Alice in Chains and Mookie Blaylock ( they weren't called Pearl Jam yet). That was a Friday night, then on Saturday we went to the same club where Love/ Hate were opening for Saigon Kick and the place was definitely over capacity. Love/Hate blew Siagon Kick away. I was actually there to see SK but Love / Hate were the better band that night.
I was at a concert in Chicago and I was sitting on the front row of the balcony.I had my beer and a bag of weed sitting on the ledge in front of me.when I went to grab my beer,I knocked my weed to the audience below.sonofabitch!!
I was lucky enough to see these guys as an opening act for AC DC back in the early '90s. Their performance and energy has left a lasting impression - black out, black out.
I watched them open for L.a Guns and Skid Row in 91. They played a low-key gig three days later in Londons Borderline. The energy from that set in such a small venue was truly electrifying.
My dad used to sing this song to me through out my years of drug addiction. Never listened to the song or saw video until now. Sober now, miss u dad.
Your dad was a bad ass!❤
Don’t f’ck with me because I’ll f’ck with you etc etc
Sometimes the choruses are on point lol
Not only was your dad awesome, good on you for getting clean. He'd be soo proud!
Glad you made it kid. We been expecting you. Don't ever stop. Keep moving forward. Learn from your mistakes and better yourself. Rock on Brother 🤘😎

Love/hate rocks
Really like this band. There several bands around this time that just didn’t get the recognition they should have. Great sounding album all the way through.
Aka Dangerous Toys or Bang Tango
It's because Grunge swallowed up the airwaves and bands like these did not have enough time to spread their wings. A cryin' shame.
Blackout is a solid album, Wasted was good too.
@@starspanglednightmare283 wrathchild america
This entire sounds best loud. It was the ultimate party album of 1990.
Im from Philly and played in a hair band thru the 80s and 90s and played NYC with these dudes a few times... The scene was killer. Jersey,Philly,NYC clubs were bangin.
of course!
Hair metal was the pinnacle of 20th century art.
Jizzy Pearl,Skud Rose,Joey Gold,Jon E Love 4 fantastic musicians ...man this song is a 4 minutes trip ... Majestic !
Tom Werman's book "Turn It Up" brought me here. Cheers! 🥨
Thank you guys for making my life better.I will never forget this album.if they play some of this tracks at my funeral I might get up for a couple of minutes to vibe with it.
Rather underrated and underestimated band. Good old rock and rollers.
I saw Love / Hate play alot in Britain at the time and they were absolutely brimming with energy and the crowd was raucaus. 'Nuff said.
This album and Wasted in America just lift me up! Such a unique vibe.
Saw these at the old Marquee club in London on New Year’s Eve way back in the 90s,I can honestly say it was the best night of my life ever! They should have been huge, thanks guys.
Very underated band. Singer is a legend.
"some people say its hip to say no. in my town its green light go!!!!!
Thats why the call it dope....
Saw these guys in the early 90's in Minnesota at the New Munich Ballroom. Awesome show.
Love the chorus and psychedelic strings at the 2 minute mark. Great record.
this is over a quarter century old and it's still better than a lot of the crap coming out these days.
shyt im old
Me too. :-) I was tryin' to figure out how to see these guys at the bar in my city - I was 17. Spoiler alert - never did,. and then the 90s happened.
Crap now days is all the same. That is why it sounds so familiar! Radio Crap!
These guys were silly and creative!

From 2:23 to 2:37 ish, is just some good ole fashioned mosh music. Saw them at Nottingham Rock City.... one of my favorite live shows.

Long time since I heard this, bought Blackout when it came out. This song rocks and so does Blackout in the red room. Thanks for posting this..definitely memories!
This song has great bass and guitar!!!!
that's because they're copied from "two tribes", which was a trevor horn song
I'm so fucked up I can't even find the door! WTF!
Did you find it?
Nope 😂
Take me back plz ... awesome!
I love Jizzy Pearl. He's very talented. Still prefer the album "Wasted in America" but love "Blackout in the Red Room" too
Phunky feel good groove metal!
Love it!!! WTC in the background!!!!
This cd is amazing
Great band!! Killer tune!! It takes me back to 90'-91' lol. Saw them open for AC/DC on razors edge tour. Epic shit!!!
An absolute proto teen spirit - quiet chorus then a huge drum kick lead the bridge to a loud chorus + no guitar solo. Years ahead of their time.
this is so awesome. fantastic band and a KILLER song.
feel old, this album was released on the day and year of my birth, and yet I grew up with this kind of music
PERFECTION 🤩🤩🤩
I don't care! I love EVERY SONG! Always have, always will! Record companies suck! This coulda been top charts 1980s-2000s. Think 'don' F with me' today!
Underrated Band/ Bassist
IKR? who is he?
trevor horn is indeed a great bass player
They are freaking awesome!!!
I remember this too!! Two great songs by a band that should have gotten more attention. 1989? 1990?
Brings back the old Headbanger's Ball memorie's !!! Seemed like nothing then..But Now ?!?
Nice band. To bad they don't got the recognition that they deserve 25 years ago.
I hope Jizzy can ad some Love/Hate songs to the Quiet Riot repertoire. That would be awesome.
Saw these guys open for AC/DC on the Razor's Edge tour. Damn I am old.......
Remember Jizzy on the Hollywood sign? The good old days
Those quick live shots in this vid? I'm in that crowd.
drummadave claim to fame right there lol
Bands that were so close to be awesome and just barely missed
From the coast of Brooklyn in the 80's! Slap that bass!
Criminally underrated
I haven’t heard this song in 35 years, and I just sand every word

XXXGIUTARBUM they became known right at the tail end of that whole LA metal scene. I do miss those days.
Fantastic. well done Love/Hate
I always liked the nasty little bass intro! Great song!
because it's the bass intro from "two tribes", one of the best produced songs of all time
this song totally kicks ass! Too bad these guys never made it huge.

Narc!
Lol kidding

Bass was ignored laregely in the "scooped mids" 90s.... But Skid crushes. Any Love/Hate track has him blasting away.

MTV FLASHBACK Monday Night October 15 1990 This video got a big intro by VJ Katie Wagner and Mic Fleetwoods new book
i heard this on the radio today
absolute great band!
Not sohot
The beat and base during the verse reminds me of Two Tribes from Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
pretty shameless ripoff, but a great song to copy at least!
