- A day out at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway! This video includes my journey to Grosmont on the Northern Rail train, and then stops at Pickering, Goathland and Whitby on heritage stock travelling behind steam and diesel locomotives before heading back home on the Northern Rail train from Whitby. Visit took place on Wednesday 3rd April 2024.
This is very good, I felt as if I was there and really wish I could have been!
Wonderful run from Pickering to Whitby -sadly not planning to go to North Yorkshire this year - model train fan ? Check out TMC (Hill Farm, Beck Hole, Whitby YO22 5LF) not far from Goathland Station and one of the BEST model shops in the UK.
This is one of the many heritage railways in the country. It’s one of the railways that I haven’t visited yet, but that’s me!!
Dear old Class 25!! It’s certainly one of the nicer diesel locomotives made over here!!
I visited a pub in Pickering because it was a model railway club location. The pity is that there was no such thing as alcohol free beer!!
I’m a great proponent of old fashioned steam locomotives. They make a wonderful sound, provide a good means of transport, and run with less pollution than diesel locomotives.
Great video looks a good day out going in a few weeks hopefully the weather is a bit better but this is England 😂
Thank you! Yeah it’s a great day out! Pickering is a nice little town to have a walk around whilst you there with some nice shops and good places for food like Country Crust! Goathland is interesting too with the links to Heartbeat.
Wasn’t the best weather for it yesterday though 🙈🌧️ Hope it’s better for you!
