I was almost 400ilbs, and I'm 42. I started changing my diet about a week ago or so, but when Asmon stated that, it's true. It's 100% true. I've literally felt better just changing my diet, intermitted fasting, two meals a day, with a very light breakfast of a banana or orange with a cup of coffee. I stop eating at 7pm, drink water at home. I have 1 20oz of mtn dew a day at work. It's working for me, and I could be even better if I wanted to. I took zero offense to what Asmon said, because it's fuckin true. Being obese and over weight isn't natural. I stress eat, emotional eat. I got my mental health medicating and I've found my portion control has gotten way better. I have never once thought attacked by any of these takes that Asmon has said in the past, because what he's saying is true.

It’s sad that we’ve demonized saturated fats and completely ignore sugar as one of the main culprits. The other one is trans fat and is almost always found in anything with processed sugars, fast food, cheap vegetable oils, etc. ofc trans fats and sugars aren’t necessarily unhealthy, overconsumption of those are since they are so addictive and never really trigger the proper satiated response you get from consuming healthy fats. It’s wild.

Asmond didn't inspire me but his "hot take" is a very similar reason to how I got myself motivated. When you look around at older people and they are all complaining about this or that with there body but they all have one thing in common... being overweight. I knew I had to do something. I don't want to become a slog when I'm older. I don't want to complain about walking 200 feet from my car to the store. I don't want to have issues with getting out of bed.
I went from 300lbs to 160lbs (I'm 6'2", so my weight is spread out more compared to shorter folk). It was a hell of a journey but I reached it fairly fast, within a year. It's been a struggle to maintain it at times but I just keep reminding myself of the reasons, my health, when I get older, and lets be honest, we just do look better when we are healthier. It's boosted my self confidence by a massive amount as well.
Highly recommend losing weight and monitoring it. There is no way to be fat and healthy. As Asmond has effectively said, you're delusional if you think otherwise. Even if all your bloodwork says you're AOK... That weight is gonna add up over time on your body. Your joints feel it every day even if you don't.

I am 5'10 and 2 years ago weighed in at 320lbs, I now weigh in at 240lbs and still making progress. I had to start by walking up and down my driveway, every day I was in constant pain and lethargic, it was terrible. So seeing people who are my size or even bigger trying to justify living in pain and withering away, it's so illogical to me.

As a fellow fat person, I agree completely with Asmon saying that your body is fat phobic. I went for a walk after he said it and I didn’t order pizza that night, I had a prawn sandwich instead. Thanks for not denying reality Asmongold! Don’t cave!
This guy is so fucking brave with this reaction video too. Props to him! ✌️❤

In late November 2022 I was 275 pounds. I had a multiple big health scares because of how big I was. I hadn’t been to the doctor in 10 years because I was honestly afraid of what they would tell me. I always thought “out of sight, out of mind.” But it was never out of my mind. I new I was unhealthy, I just didn’t want to be held accountable for it.
Well, after that scare I totally changed how I love my life, and now I’m down 45 pounds. I still have some work to do, but I’m getting there. Even doing that has taken a huge mental toll on me.
People don’t understand the mental struggles that obese people go through. It’s easy to make fun of them, but you honestly have no idea. “Oh well just lose weight.” I’m sorry but that is WAY easier said than done. There are a lot of factors to look at…..

Around 2020 I decided to start losing weight, I went from around 280 to 175 lbs and now i sit at around 195 and im happy with my weight finally. Its not bullying to try and get people to be healthy in a kind way.

I went from 300 pounds to 200 pounds about 8 years ago. I kept it off for quite a while, but it is a constant struggle for me. I could never slack off or I would fall into bad habits again. The past 2 years, not only have I slowly gained all of it back, but I have put on another 20 pounds the last I checked. I actually don't know if it's any more or less because I am afraid to see the number. I haven't weighed myself in about 2 months. I don't know how to gain the motivation back I once had.

When I was like 12-13 I was big. 230 a bit under 6 foot, maybe just at 6 foot tall. I was being evaluated for fatty liver etc.. my doctor then was a gem. He phrased it in a way that any 13 year old would get motivated by, but not offended. He said, “you know things under the hood seem to be okay. I tell you what tho, you’d look like a killer at 185lbs. Make sure to starting lifting weights and eating protein and not packaged food to the strongest you can be. Have your dad grill to feed the beast (something like that).” After that I stopped slamming 10 cans of Mountain Dew and eating a gallon of pub mix every weekend lol. By the time I was 15/16 I lost 60lbs. I gained alittle back in college but then once I had a set schedule I lost that 10lb a of fluff and am now the leanest and strongest ever. Not to mention healthiest and consistently making good decisions eating, training, and emotional/mental health wise. In the end, I felt as tho I did myself a big favor sucking up the reality of my body and developing health issues as a young teen. Cheers

The word you said that day had echoed in my head which it hurts but its true its no fat-phobic it is just simple facts and the truth which made me realize and sit with my self and think and to have a stand to change things in my life because of my overweight.
