Love to all.
From the bottom of my heart thank you for doing this video. This should be required viewing for living on the planet earth. You are both such beautiful human beings and the guitars are like no other instruments in the world. I would own one if I could ... maybe one day .... but it was a privilege to watch you both ... thank you!
i was just looking at used models on the net-they are within reach 4 grand or alittle less!!!
I just died and went to heaven, pure magic guitars playing is perfection.brilliant thanks guys.
1:06:48 The Mona Lisa….. In all aspects of the word this is the single most brilliant piece of music, I’ve ever in my life heard. Thank you all so much. I have no words. I have the JP signature model and I don’t play it often but when I do, no matter how long it sits I. It’s case it always comes out singing right on key.
Stellar song indeed, Cam. It's Bruce Cockburn's "Foxglove" from his 1973 Night Vision album. There's a great online tutorial for it at Shutup & Play Guitar Tutorials. You'll be playing it on your own JP Sig Boucher in no time!
This has got to be the Best Video Ever regarding a Passionate Builder (Robin), the Perfomer (J.P.) and its Brand Ambassador (Guillaume) all together expressing the Love for each other and the Power of Music and the Magic created by these World Class Instruments - Just so Amazing to watch! Love you guys!
@JP_Cormier coming to MD February Show
I cannot wait to own a boucher and be a part of the boucher family. Everyday I think about my future guitar and it brings positive energy into my life.
Horrible guitars
@@easilyoffended7772 Are you on drugs??!!
Oh my God, I think that I must have a Bluegrass Goose! The sound is way beyond what we've heard in the past. This guitar is at the top! Clean, clear and powerful sound!!!
WOW..one of the best shows of yours that I ever watched...You and Robin are a pair. WAY TO GO.
Oh the passion in builder and player is something else keep it up.
Truth is, I can't even afford a £500 guitar, but if I won the lottery I'd fly straight over to have a guitar built by Robin, not just for their astronomical sound and build, but what a lovely guy. My favourite video yet. Thanks for this brilliant watch and inspiration 👍

Thanks for putting this up JP
Fantastic video guys. Robin, your guitars are exceptional in every way. JP you have a beautiful family of Boucher guitars, and your signature model is incredible. I'm so pleased/proud to be the owner of my own beautiful Boucher BG-42IM. Hoping to get one of your signature models in the near future. Thank you again Robin, Guillaume and JP for bringing these guitars into my life. Cheers, Eddie Calnan 😎🎶🎶🎶
They are the best guitars I’ve ever played
Best GSWJ ever! Thank JP & Robin!
Amen !
Man , @ 42;11 Robin cannot contain his excitement and his emotions listening to those beautiful melodic chimes on what he created , his expression is priceless !!!!!
Robin seems to genuinely love everything about guitar. I'd be honored to own a Boucher someday.
Got to meet Robin at the Boucher clinic in Halifax. I was standing in the back watching JP play and he walked up to me and introduced himself. Very nice guy. Got to play 4 Boucher guitars after the show. Outstanding instruments, the feel and sound. Each guitar is a unique work of art.
All sounded great 👍
Looking forward to this one!!!!
Just brilliant… thank you JP, Ginger, Robin and Guillaume for producing this amazing informative video.
For years I’d seen Boucher guitars hanging on the wall, but never played one because I felt it was out of my price range. But because of JP’s excitement for the brand I gave one a try. That was it... within the month I'd raised the money by selling a camera and my Martin D35.
This fall I bought a HG 56... it sounds as good as Yogi. I'm one very happy guy.
What a review, what a passion these guys have , so tremendously inspiring ! To see attitude of this level... no, forget "attitude" - "love" is more likely, of both, a builder and a player, is to witness an almost extinct quality realm.
10 out of 10 !
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!
Yeah, Boo Boo is phenomenal, never heard such clarity in an instrument and you really make it deliver and go to work!
Hello!
Superb video with the Maestro and Guillaume. Boucher guitars are my favorite, I have 3 myself.
I allow myself to point out a small error: Yogi is apparently made of Indian rosewood, so it's an HG56 and not an HG46 as it's written ;) .
The song JP is playing with Mona Lisa is GORGEOUS!
J. P. This is the most enjoyable of all your enjoyable videos. Your last song like robin brought a tears to my eyes. Thank you. God bless.
This is one great show!
boucher reminds me of a fellow I know well - George Wilson. Except George only built evenings and weekends as his day job was making violins and harpsichords and other stuff of the sort. But the stuff Robin does (chasing a lighter guitar rather than something heavy and strong and safe) and keeping the mids is very similar. It must be 10 times more complicated to try to do that with a group of people vs. building entirely by yourself and having control of every part of production.
Love your guys passion and chemistry
Would have loved for the three of you to play a song or two together. Maybe next time 🙂
Finally finished watching the complete video. It doesn't get any better than these masters of music creation. A player, a designer and a builder of what will e seen as one of the best guitars on this planet!
A superb video Big John, I even teared up!
Wow, what a great video - 132 minutes well spent. Thanks JP and congrats Robin and team. Wish I could play a Boucher. Blessings to you all
Here I am watching this video again when I should be sleeping because it's late right now. I have no words to describe the passion that emanates from this video.
So wonderful! To see the artisan and the art!!
Excellent!
Sending you a little tip to thank you for all of the good info about Boucher Guitars...many hours of viewing videos with you and Robin! I'm an accompanist for a French Canadian trad fiddle session and a longtime member of an English ceilidh band, Rattlebone, playing a unique (obscure) repertoire of Anglo dance and folk tunes to an indifferent public. Recently I decided that a dreadnought would best serve my purpose after 26 years playing an OM (Larrivee). A few days ago, my beautiful BG-52 Gi arrived from Glenn in Antigonish. Played out with the fiddlers the other night and it was great. Looking forward to see how it holds up against melodeon, tuba and whistle in Rattlebone. I have to say thanks to you for getting me there along with Robin, Guillaume and Glenn (and my wife for coming around after her initial horror).
Cheers! I'm glad you love the guitar.
It’s such a great treat to my eyes and ears to watch so many beautiful and wonderful sounding Boucher guitars in one video! Thank you so much JP and Robin ❤ I hope there will be more episodes like this in the near future too. Also, I’m just curious to know if Robin has ever made a guitar for Miss Joni Mitchell for the Canadian Song-Writer Hall of Fame yet? I’m such a big fan of hers for more than 40 years already. 🇨🇦👍😀
Very entertaining and informative video. Robin comes across as such a nice and humble man.
Robin is putting out some of the most beautiful, best playing and sounding guitars being made today. Boucher should have a huge piece of the American market, and I pity those who are missing out on what these guitars offer. Great video guys; I truly loved it!
🙏 amen!
He sells every one that he can make. It doesn't get any better than that.
I'm watching this with my 2 year old daughter and she likes the 12 string. I like them all lol
After hearing the SG21 Bubinga, I must have one! Incredible tone.. thanks Guillaume for the further details on these..
How honored I would be to meet either one of these guys but preferably both in my lifetime!!!!
Robin Boucher is a genius
Wow those guitars n that playing absolutely mind blowing! Thank you both ,❤outstanding video phenomenal guitar playing with a master luthier Troubadour! 😅
Hello JP, hopefully you read these post. You may be familiar with Stan Rogers, his canadian seafaring songs are beautiful and mostly played on 12 string. It would be nice to here you do some his music on the "Lightfoot"! Thanks Dale
When Robin made is "last adjustment to the secret sauce" without details, who can share what he did? Thank you.
Thank you guys.
JP, please do more of these interview type videos, extremely interesting..
I love this
Downloaded this to watch it on my next Transatlantic! Happy tailwinds. Godspeed. I will buy the BG42 €6500. I dont care anymore.
Looking for my 1st OM and looking at and reading/listening to as many as I can. This video is immensely helpful in narrowing down my choice!
One minor detail...the Yogi/Boo boo reference is funny (I grew up watching Yogi Bear cartoons) BUT I must point out that actually...Boo Boo is the smaller bear, Yogi is the big fella. Opposite J.P.'s Boucher guitars. 😃
Awesome video, awesome guitars, awesome player!! Wow...
Pickus-Giganticous! That made me laugh so hard.
I wish I could give this video another like for every time JP picks up one of these Boucher guitars!
Trully Awsome Video. Thank you JP. Would have to try them all to really know which I liked the most. But from the video the one that would suite me the best wood be Boo Boo. The best sounding on the video, maybe not the same if I would have been there, but as soon you cracked on Merlin Holly Tabur@#%# LOL.....
I just loved both sides now on merlin. What is exercising me at the moment is the consistency. One after the other. I think one should have to be interviewed at length to access if one deserves a Boucher. I certainly dont. Its too late for me to ever get that good. Nevertheless, its wonderful to know that there are such masterpieces out there for the worthy.
Great video. Thank you, little mistake in the text Yogi is a HG56 not a HG46
Violin - Antonio Stradivari
Pianoforte - Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg
Acoustic Guitar -Robin Boucher
❤
Beautiful guitars with a great sound. I just wish they offered a wider nut than 1 3/4". I'm 6' 4" and as I've gotten older I've found that I need a wider fretboard and wider string spacing. I really like the feel of the 2 3/8" spacing at the bridge but I need a 1 13/16" nut now.
This is the first time in my life where the smaller body guitars sound better than the dreadnoughts. Tarzan is stunning.
that jumbo sounds like a mature dreadnought like an elder in the tribe.
You tune up and get busy making music...
; )
Merlin! Wow!
Tarzan would be a Kiho'alu cannon
I have a Gibson J-45 faded brand new and a Martin HD28 I bought new in 2019. Together $6k US It be awesome to trade those for one of Robins guitars!
I'm thinking of selling my HD28 along with another 2 axes to fund Robin's maple jumbo (torrefied!)
Windy and super hot!
JP What flat pick are you using here and what thickness? It looks like TS or Casein (Apollo pick)? What brand light gauge on that SG Boucher? P.B.?
He usually uses blue chip picks. 1.5mm but the there is also another one I think he has switched to. It’s discussed a lot on his Wednesday night live stream show called “String Theory “. And as for strings D’Addario XS light gauge is his string of choice.
@@CamMacMastermusic The video shows the pick in a couple of shots and it is not a brown BC pick. Looks like a TS or faux TS Casein like the Apollo pick.
You’re right. Apollo picks
What's tune you played with Enola Gay at 47:30 ?
JP, I want to purchase your memory stick with all your albums. How can I get one?
Check his online store. They were available on there at one time.
👋😎👍🎶🎶
It's hard "not to notice" the Palm🌴Tree!!!!!!
So, with that said, I'm curious to know WHERE you recorded This Video, JP?
Can there possibly BE a species of Palm🌴Tree that actually grows in Nova Scotia?
Just curious!!!!!
Don't let the Panama Hat fool ya! 🤠
Great stories those
Guitars sound like
Nothing else😅
👍👍👍
JP, hey man what were you playing on the twelve string? Is that a Gordon Lightfoot song? or original of yours? Im tryin to learn that on my 6 string. It look like it was jumping from a C chord to an F and a bit of a G. Sounds awesome I gotta learn that. Thank you
Hey guys, what is the Boucher temperement?
I am used to tempering the b string on other guitars, how is it done for the high E?
Thanks a bunch.
Non existent. The B string doesn’t need to be slightly flat like other guitars. Apparently it’s something to do with the way the neck is set.
1:18:50 he actually explains Temperament on the Boucher guitars.
Does robin build a 12 frett norman blake style om or ooo guitar with stick bridge and extra long glue in saddle. With bridge placed some where in the mid center lower bout sweet spot. Choice of sound board would be bear claw engelman spruce. Red spruce xx scalloped braceing. African mahogany back and sides. A non slotted head stock and ebony round head waverly open tuneing gears and k and k pick up. With a low oval performance hard rock maple neck, ebony frett board and bridge, and lets top it off with waverly
, ebony button open back tuners. Thats not asking for to mutch is it.
JP: "I love you more!"
Robin: "No, Jay-Pee, I luv jyou moare!"
JP: "No, Robin, I love you more!"
...(hugs and kisses)
How did Robin Boucher choose "goose" for naming his guitars?
I'm just guessing here, but I imagine it has something to do with the spruce goose (a legendary airplane)
Two thoughts: if half of the people who watched (as of now) it take two years to supply the demand.
About December of '83 I saw Gordon Lightfoot play a bar venue and stood about a dozen feet from him. The next day I bought a new guitar that I still enjoy.
JP: "I got invited to come play some guitars, and Robin had brought 27 of his guitars. Let me tell you how I bought 27 guitars from Robin."
When I first discovered you, you went on and on about the high price of guitars and how you can get a great guitar at a better price and now you offer your fans a signature Boucher at over 5 grand. Thanks for nothing.
It might be difficult to watch future guitar reviews, but you can get a decent guitar at a fair price. It will not be hand made or one of these. Fortunately I am content with what I have.
I thought that I was the only person with this thought
You guys are Itialians, right? Russian?, Mexican?
Canadians, Robin is from Quebec and JP is from Ontario
