That video was the album recording which was spliced over a live video recording from 1977... thus why it seems like there's lip synching in the video.
I subscribed, more RUSH please, try driven working them angels, clock work angels, ub2b, anthem, far cry, working man live in Cleveland, Animate, cut to the chase, half the world, bytor and the snow dog, Xanadu live 81,mission, marathon, lock and key, turn the page, is Rush becoming a favorite? Seen them 39 times ,one reason I play the drums, all 3 are virtuosos on their instruments greatest band of all time lyrically and musically!!!
I know someone else said it, but you ain't lived until you see these two sisters perform "Stairway" at our most prestiges music award in America, The Kennedy Center Honors. In front of Led Zeppelin. It makes Robert weep. It may make you weep.
She was not lip-synching. The track was the recording and the video footage was from a live concert. They just tried to mesh it all together. Remember this was early in the Video music era.
I wouldn’t say it was sloppy editing it’s just all they had back then (live video backed with album audio). I would prefer to just have the live audio that went with the video.
Yea you can find the original video on youtube with the live version of the song which is actually pretty close to this studio version. I think this is from TV show like Midnight Special (but not actually that show...)
No lip sync, you’re hearing the studio album version put on top of a concert video so the timing is a bit off… but Ann Wilson ever lip syncing is pure blasphemy
Back in the 70’s we didn’t think about Female vs Male Groups. If they Rocked it was all we cared about. Heart can stand with any Male Band around and still hold their own!
We didn’t , but the industry and other male bands did ! You’re 100% WE loved them and when we got access to women artists we elevated them to keep them . That was accross every genre . Dolly Parton had Wagner Heart had their own porter Wagner , but like Dolly Parton, their talent is breathtaking we aren’t giving it up
A reporter once made a heavy insinuation that she and her sister (other vocalist and guitarist in video) were lovers. She wrote this song out of anger right after she heard about it.
Fun fact for you; Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart had a close relationship with Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. They sang at his funeral service in Poulsbo, WA.
Also their Led Zep cover of "Battle of Evermore" under the name Lovemongers. While we're at it, the Soundtrack this was released on (Singles) is so great. One of the best Pearl Jam songs ever recorded (State of Love and Trust) and many more bangers.
sorry, not a fan of that performance. But Robert Plant et al appeared to love it and were brought to tears, so who cares what some idiot on the interwebz thinks :p
Ann Wilson is the number one female rock vocalist hands down! Powerhouse of pure vocal talent! Her sister Nancy rocking on the guitar hasn't gotten enough credit for her talent over the years. Power duo! They're still rocking at the age of 73 and 70!!
This is the music video, but its definitely the studio recording matched up with a live performance. You can see her lips not matching up a few times.. But that doesnt mean she doesnt sound amazing live, cause Ann Wilson sounds fucking amazing live as well
Nope, Ann doesn’t lip sync. I’ve seen her twice in the last 8 years in her Ann Wilson of Heart Thing solo show and have tickets to see Heart in December. At 73, her voice is even richer sounding! She is and will always be the top female rock voice. The blonde woman next her playing guitar and singing back up vocals is her sister Nancy Wilson. Both sisters having a hand in writing almost all of their songs. Unbeatable duo! In January, my favorite heavy metal band, Disturbed, released a new music video “Don’t Tell Me” featuring Ann Wilson. It’s not a rock or metal song but Wow, really touched my soul! Signing off, Grandma from California. Keep up the good work!
I’m old enough to be your grandmother and American. I love the our reactions! Ann Wilson us the best female rock singer of all time. I saw her live about 5 years ago and her voice was still premium!
Anne Wilson has a voice that would blow ANYONE away. And sister Nancy on guitar. They were and are some of rocks pioneer women. Grew up listening to them. Had all of their albums! Rock on girls.😊
Did you know that Ann Wilson did some backing vocals on a really underrated Alice in Chains song called "Am I Inside"? It's from the Sap EP and it's beautiful
AIC also recorded their self-titled 1995 album at Bad Animals, the studio owned at the time by the Wilson sisters. Also, Soundgarden recorded Superunknown and Down On The Upside, while PJ recorded Vitalogy, Yield, Riot Act and Avocado there (some songs at other studios, though).
It is incredible how fresh and vibrant this song still sounds almost fifty years later. definitely something to be said for music from this period that has stood the test of time.
You have to watch Alone 80's official video which not only features Ann's fabulous voice but also her sister Nancy's fabulous harmonizing!! Gifted guitarist too, Nancy doesn't get enough credit for the Heart success. She and Ann wrote pretty much all of their songs. Such a talented pair.
I think this is a live version that they've edited and added the studio version as audio. I've definitely seen this exact same video with different audio, including different vocal ad libs and an extended guitar solo.
When music was music and you had to have talent with your musical skills on instruments as well as a voice, no autotune no studio wizardry going on just raw talent. I graduated high school in 1977. I listen to all of these bands growing up.
you know the blond is her sister and a great singer and guitar player in her own right. Seen them twice in concert in their later years and was still impressed
When you start talking about female singers, it is hard to find a top 10 list that Ann Wilson does not dominate. Nancy Wilson, Ann's sister and lead guitarist, is also amazing in her own right. The pair along with the rest of the band gave us many years of great music. I am glad to see a new generation appreciate their music.
The time period from about 1967 to 1980 really was a Golden Age of music. Not just Rock - also Jazz, music in the Soul/Funk/R&B space, and even the "Outlaw Country" singers of the era. Hip Hop's earliest roots also date to this time. The only other time period that compares is the late-80s/early 90s, when Hip Hop, Techno, Groove Metal, Grunge, and Alternative Rock in general were at their peak.
Being a metal head all my life, my confession is, Heart HAS ALWAYS been my fav rock band of all time! Welcome to the rabbit hole! You won't be disappointed with ANY of their songs! Ann Wilson the lead singe r just did a duet with David Dreiman from Disturbed!

HELLO FROM THE USA. In this episode Mollyboy has a great reaction to one of the best female vocalists for all time Ann Wilson and he may be surprised to learn that the female guitarist is Nancy Wilson her sister. One if not the greatest female groups ever.
so I've heard of Heart but never listened to them until this video; I really liked this song so I looked for the album it belongs to ("Little Queen"), and it turns out that's a really great album! thanks for hookin us up
In the wilds of RUclips, someone put "Go On Cry" and "Cry To Me" back to back, and it's excellent. The two songs really should have been that way on the album (especially on vinyl).
I was so excited to see this reaction. The video is a live performance and the studio version is dubbed over it. I have no idea why, though, because Ann Wilson's voice live is perfection. Heart most definitely was a game changer when it came to women in rock. They have so many good songs.
The voice isn't the reason for the studio dub over, it's the production. Nothing sounds as crisp and clear as the studio. It's the entire reason reactors should do studio versions first.
Mollyboy you want more female singers I have a banger of one for you. The band is called “Unleash the archers” the song is “Awakening” the singer is Brittany salyers. Absolute magic and you WILL be blown away not only by her voice but by the talent of the guys in the band. Please give this a look on one of your videos. You’ll thank me later! Ohh btw I’ve seen Heart live in concert one time. Ann Wilson’s voice live is incredible!
She's still kickin' it hard at age 73! Heart is touring this year and she did a fairly recent duet with David Draiman and Disturbed on their latest album, called, "Don't Tell Me." I loooooove her voice!
Wilson is the GOAT ! Unmistakable and unparalleled. The queen of Rock !!!!!!!!!!!! You might want to check out : If looks could kill. Her rage is palpable in that tune, and her raw power is undeniable. I loooooooove her!
Great! Such a huge female vocalist and rock classic band. Some people of the new generation discovered them through Guitar Hero game, what a riff, right? Watch their perfomance in Led Zeppelin Kennedy Center honors, they did a memorable and emotional cover of Stairway to Heaven and left Robert Plant in tears. Ann Wilson still has a powerful voice.
@6:30 when you point out the "lip sync" it actually that they put the recorded album audio to a live video. Its not the recording of the live version. There are live versions out there. Her voice is still amazing
I remember being a kid in 1977. We were in Dallas for something. You literally could not go across the radio dial without coming across this song. Heart has so many incredible songs. “How Can I Refuse?” is probably my favorite of theirs. “Magic Man”, “Crazy On You” “Straight On” and “Heartless” are some other good ones.
She sounds exactly the same live. I was lucky enough to be doing security in the 80s in New York. And she and Aerosmith were playing and she was flawless. Keep learning your going to have a good time.
No lip syncing here, it’s just the poor video quality. These ladies give all they’ve got every time, no lip sync, no mime. I’m happy to see you broadening your horizons too! There’s tons of music and artists out there, just waiting for you to discover it. Really great reaction, I enjoyed it! You’d dig the song Crazy On You as well.
Just a dramatic pause, no lipsync. I have always totally loved this song. Ever since I first heard it 47 years ago. Seems like yesterday, every time I hear it. Bara- barracuda! 🎶✌🏽🧓🏽😁🇨🇦
That’s how they did it in the 70s. They didn’t really make concept videos until MTV. This was them playing the song live, not trying to match it to the studio performance. Later, they took the video removed the live audio and stripped in the studio audio. This was probably a live show on either Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert or Midnight Special.
Def my Generation...Music was the best and love me some female rockers. Can never fail with Heart. Anns vocals r so phenomenal and never underestimate sister Nancys backup vocals and sweet guitar magic. Glad to see u enjoying the magic. Peace
I saw heart for the first time when they were the opening band for the Canadian group April Wine back in '75. They were so good I became an instant fan and I still am to this day!
In 1982 when a young lass I saw these ladies in concert while I was in college. I managed to squeeze up to the front of the stage on the side that Nancy Wilson was playing (Ann's sister, the one that plays guitar) and was about 10 feet away from her (back then you could get that close). While she was playing I managed to wave at her, she noticed, looked me in the eye and blew me a kiss. I've been in love ever since. Just don't tell my wife. Anyway, great reaction kiddo! Love your channel.
I love Ann Wilson. Her voice is amazing. If you want to hear the greatest female artist, please listen to Janis Joplin “Ball & Chain”, “Maybe”, “Cry Baby.” All live performances. She will blow you away. Ann is my second favorite after Janis.
Definitely the studio cut, but the visual is quite representative of them live. Here's an actual live recording from 1976 of one of their earlier huge hits, Crazy On You. Ann Wilson is the front woman and the lead singer, and then her sister Nancy is an extraordinary guitar player, especially on acoustic, and also does backing vocals and just totally rocks out. This live performance includes the intro, which Nancy was Infamous for doing even at that point, and it preceeds it on the album and flows straight into the main song, and very often on FM radio, you would hear this played including this intro. Although on the studio cut, the intro is definitely shorter; she's just having fun with the audience and extending it a bit here and just playing around. But you can clearly hear the audience response even over the music once she starts to hit that home stretch leading into the opening of Crazy On You. m.ruclips.net/video/qVcl0Iw3fs8/видео.html&pp=ygUcaGVhcnQgY3Jhenkgb24geW91IGxpdmUgMTk3Ng%3D%3D
I've been an in passing fan of Heart for most of my life. I got a chance to see them at a small venue very close to home and decided to go. I was floored. The band and Ann Wilson's sings is that good. I've been a huge fan ever since. Consummate professionals in every sense of the word. Check out their cover of Stairway to Heaven at Kennedy Center Honors.

Check out "Magic Man" by Heart. Great guitar work in that one!
Her sister Nancy doesn't get enough chops for her guitar skills, they both were awesome.
And she sings!!!!
Nancy 👍 excellent musician
She was not lip-synching. The track was the recording and the video footage was from a live concert. They just tried to mesh it all together. Remember this was early in the Video music era.

Ann Wilson is the best female rock vocalist, hands down. Pure talent.
This Riff kix me at least to Metal 1977.14years young😂
I kept hearing Janis having the best voice, to each their own but Ann Wilson is head and shoulders over her.
Agreed! My fav rock vocalist without question ❤
100% 🙌
Agreed.
If you haven't watched Heart's tribute to Led Zeppelin performing Stairway to Heaven it's a must see. So emotional and powerful.
This is stunning. Even Robert Plant cried.
Yassssssssss!
I believe this may’ve been the why and the when he remembers hearing Anne’s voice. But idk.🎶🤩🎶✨✨✨
Awesome.
I always liked heart but this took it over the top
There's no lip syncing with Heart.
Ann is one of the greatest voices in music.
They're true greats of 70's rock.
I think she was catching her breath, that's all.
The video was stitched together with the album version after both were recorded.
I was just the video version and not a live performance.
It's 70's live concert footage, trying to be synced as best as possible to the studio version of the song, to create a video for MTv in the 80's ...
No lip sync, you’re hearing the studio album version put on top of a concert video so the timing is a bit off… but Ann Wilson ever lip syncing is pure blasphemy

Anne Wilson - no auto-tune, just pure, raw awesomeness.
I came here to say, NO Auto tune. Just God's gift.
Anne and the lady from Jefferson Airplane had the best Vocals!
@@evanspage5 That was Grace Slick from JA. I'd also have to include Pat Benatar in that category.
There was some reverb though.
A reporter once made a heavy insinuation that she and her sister (other vocalist and guitarist in video) were lovers. She wrote this song out of anger right after she heard about it.
Magic man is another great song my heart
Ha that's what I just said too. Sorry didn't see your post 1st.
I like Magic Man even better.
Mollyboy will like Magic Man!
Agreed!
The saddest part of this song is that they never had as strong of a drumming performance as they did here . The drum work on this tune is FANTASTIC .
Except for Jason Bonham at the Kennedy Centre Honors performance of Stairway to Heaven.
The reason why her voice sounds familiar is because Ann Wilson is the greatest female rock singer of all time.
The reason the vocal timing is out is because they have added the studio audio recording to a live video.
Indeed!
Fun fact for you; Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart had a close relationship with Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. They sang at his funeral service in Poulsbo, WA.
They sang a song together called Ring Them Bells. As well as Ann Wilson did some singing on a Brother and Am I Inside, AIC songs.
She sang that haunting melody in Rooster and later did her own cover of the song@@tkillian77
70's..real people, real talent, no auto tune, raw rock
Listen to their version of "Stairway to Heaven " at Zeppelins , Kennedy Center awards. Frickin dead nuts on , with Zeppelins approval too
Definitely stairway to heaven 🤘👌👌👌
Yes 100% check it out
yes! that was a mind-blowing.
Totally agree……
Must see/hear performance
Glad to see you young blokes can appreciate what us geezers got up to when we were your age. Cheers!
The drummer in this band never gets enough love.
He hammers them
Agreed
Drummer dude is a beast!
Some of them late 60s-70s drummers just ooze greatness.
I concur…
Their live version of stairway to heaven from the kennedy centre honours is brilliant.
Also their Led Zep cover of "Battle of Evermore" under the name Lovemongers. While we're at it, the Soundtrack this was released on (Singles) is so great. One of the best Pearl Jam songs ever recorded (State of Love and Trust) and many more bangers.
The Full Version...the CBS version is chopped up and shorter.
@@adrian-vu6gtDefinitely. The short version cuts out some of the best things about that performance.
sorry, not a fan of that performance. But Robert Plant et al appeared to love it and were brought to tears, so who cares what some idiot on the interwebz thinks :p

No link syncing from Ann Wilson! Some of these older videos are just out of sync.
I wasn't quite born yet, but I have to agree. At least for rock music. This song was always one of my favs.
@@misterscarisma I applaud your great taste in Music! They're even better, if that's even possible, live in concert!
"Crazy on You" live 1977. "Alone" music video from the Eighties.
Wish I could like this comment more than once.... Crazy on You is absolutely amazing.
Those 2 sisters are ROCK GODDESSES, they have alot of great songs
Ann and Nancy Wilson both have amazing voices and Nancy's ability to harmonize and follow Ann note for note is beyond amazing!
The greatness of these sisters is unmatched! Ann and Nancy absolutely kill it!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Heart "Alone" - absolute perfection!
This is the music video, but its definitely the studio recording matched up with a live performance. You can see her lips not matching up a few times.. But that doesnt mean she doesnt sound amazing live, cause Ann Wilson sounds fucking amazing live as well
Yes, you're right. The actual "live" audio to this performance is not good quality. The performance is OK but the 70s video audio quality was subpar.
There’s one in every group
The Billy Idol video he just did is the same thing. It might or might not have been a live performance but it was the studio version we listen to.
Heart and particularly Ann and Nancy Wilson paved the way for Seattle grunge! These chicks are pure rock royalty and we owe them so much ❤👏
Nice start with female rockers. One of the best voices ever in the genre.

Thanks Mollyboy❤️
Might I add….Joan Jett, Jan Kuehnemund (Vixen), Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar. But Love Ann!!
Check out Minstrel Wind to really hear the power of Ann’s vocals, the live in Seattle video is fantastic
This was my first introduction to HEART in 1977. I've been a fan ever since. Ann has an incredible voice and Nancy is a great guitarist.
Didn’t notice on the slipknot video earlier but I just realized the title is British guy and not hip hop fan the conversion is complete
Yes!! I just noticed it, too! 🤘🏻
Heart is criminally underrated and underappreciated if you ask me
Did you know that Ann Wilson did some backing vocals on a really underrated Alice in Chains song called "Am I Inside"? It's from the Sap EP and it's beautiful
I had forgotten all about this! Thanks for the reminder!
And she’s on Brother
They also did "Ring Them Bells" with Layne (a Bob Dylan cover) that is amazing

This video is the studio version dubbed over a live performance. But this is EXACTLY what they sound like live as well. No tricks.
Always thought so as well, sounds EXACTLY like the record.
Yes...there are 3 versions...all cropped...
Yes they always did this for videos. Not lip syncing.
That little "Stumble" was just a choice. That was not a mistake. Listen to it several times, and you will see the logic there.

Ann Wilson is crazy to see live. Her voice is so powerful, she doesn't need a mic
Best Rock female voice EVER. Just pure genuine talent. Love ❤️. They are awesome.💯👍
I love that the bands in the 70s sounded as good live if not better than they did in the studio
Just a dramatic pause, no lipsync.
I have always totally loved this song. Ever since I first heard it 47 years ago. Seems like yesterday, every time I hear it. Bara- barracuda! 🎶✌🏽🧓🏽😁🇨🇦
Ann Wilson is amazing! ❤
Funny you say you were closed minded because your open mindedness is one of the best things about the channel.
I saw them live right before the pandemi and they still sound sooo good it is ridiculous. Love them.
A time capsule piece of 70's hard rock. Legendary.
Your image of the heart of Rock & Roll is spot on! Keep listening to the best era of Rock, you can't wrong.
These Dreams by Heart was my absolute favourite song as a little girl. Highly recommend. 🖤🤘🖤
Def my Generation...Music was the best and love me some female rockers. Can never fail with Heart. Anns vocals r so phenomenal and never underestimate sister Nancys backup vocals and sweet guitar magic. Glad to see u enjoying the magic. Peace
Heart is the only female band ever. I don't care what anyone says, nobody compares with them. Thank you!
I agree, but am enjoying the Villareal sisters, The Warning, as they make their mark in rock as well. Sister power! 🙌🏻🤟🏻
I saw heart for the first time when they were the opening band for the Canadian group April Wine back in '75. They were so good I became an instant fan and I still am to this day!
Hell yeah. I've been waiting for you to react to this.
Janis was amazing. RIP
Agreed!!

It’s just the video.
This is the Wilson sisters out of Seattle. I’ve seen them live multiple times, and they are one of the best. Always spot on.
