I can only imagine the original jingle for this one being plastered over the slow-reveal logo.

A reverse plaster to be exact.
Did the logo in this film originally have no music? Was it silent?

***** Was the B&W 1968 logo on "Sleeper", also a reverse plaster as well? I noticed it was missing the first few notes of the opening theme.
They were intact on the first CBS/Fox Video issue: The 1982 UA logo came first, followed by 14 seconds of blank space, where the 1968 logo used to be at, which were accompanied by the COMPLETE opening theme.

***** Getting back to "The Adventures of Gerard": Naturally, the only widescreen print would be in the UK, because the film was largely a UK production. There was some support from the Swiss, but much of the financing and production came from the UK.
And of course, the original creator of the story, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was from the UK.

***** I couldn't seem to find the VHS release for "The Adventures of Gerard" anywhere. Who released it, and what did the packaging look like?
      It wasn't CBS/Fox, was it?

14+ is not the correct answer. The correct answer is TV-14-V.

      Well......
In the U.S. and Canada, there were different TV Ratings.
      For example.....
      U.S.: TV-G, TV-14, TV-PG, TV-Y7, TV-Y, TV-Y7-FV and TV-MA.
      CA: G, C, C8, PG, 14+ and 18+.
So yeah. That’s how it goes.

Unlike MPAA movie ratings, the television rating system has more objectivity and at the same time is subjective, as different networks/services have different standards.
