How I make Jamaican Rum Punch and Planters Punch

My cousin’s husband Mr. Martin showed us how to make the best Jamaican Rum Punch back in
the early 60’s. He formula was very simple “one a sour, two a sweet, three a strong and four a
weak”
Back in those days every Jamaican Party would have Rum Punch and Curried Goat and of
course, very loud music from a sound system. Rum Punch can be very potent because of the
over proof white rum used in the mix. To tame it down a bit, these days we add orange juice to
make a very delicious and refreshing Planter’s Punch.
INGREDIENTS
one (1) portion of freshly squeezed lime juice ; two (2) portions of Jamaican Strawberry syrup
(look for Grace Strawberry Syrup in the supermarket) ; three (3) portions of Wray and Nephew
Over Proof white rum ; four (4) portions of pineapple juice.
Before you start mixing, make sure that you will have the necessary amount of each portion
required.
