KTVA - Where The PROOF Is In The Singing
This dude needs to release the whole song covered. He’s got pipes.
He does!
This can't be an easy song to sing. Ken, you're an amazing teacher and vocalist and this young man is amazing to be able to hit these notes. Great job!!!
Adam does a great job on this lesson, Tracey!
Woah! Way intense - but the coach knows how to work. So does the student, for that matter. This was KILLER to watch!
He is well on his way to being great. I am about to post a Myles Kennedy piece from the same vocal session.
this is the greatest singing video ive ever seen on YT!
Something I find quite interesting:
Most all of the singing programs out there display NO SINGING at all. Only "talk" with testimonials having lots of claims about their product. Yet NO ONE IS PROVING IT WITH ANY ACTUAL SINGING (and I mean songs, not a scale or a note).
I think that is quite strange.
Just food for thought on your singing quest. No coaches really singing, no students really singing. Only written and video testimonials, WITH NO ACTUAL SINGING. Hmmm, interesting, don't you think?
Ken Tamplin is a gift from God to the humankind.
Oh, gosh!
You are absolutely correct there is a lot of stuff here to learn
People tend to think that you're gonna sing exactly the same way Sebastian or any other leadsinger does. NO! The vocal instructor is teaching his student to perform that song in a proper manner. Besides, the guy is taking singing lessons: HE'S FUCKING LEARNING, GODDAMN IT! Stop being so critical and depreciative!
yes good coaching sir
It wasn't so much a pitch problem for Adam but more of the syllabification of things. Like it is for me. I got all the range I want thanks to your channel and program. Once I started to just focus on lyrics pitch just 'fell' into place. I wonder how many students had that Ah ha moment with you Ken. That moment is GOLDEN!
I like the color of his voice
This guy's range is something else. I'm so jealous.
I love the part when sung " and when you needed me I came through " < --- he nailed it thanks to Ken :)
God bless this guy talent
Seriously good 👍
Thank you
The best online training ever...wow
Ashem leibakngambamoirangcha. I'm so glad it's helped!
@@kentamplin please do eagle fly free by Halloween
damn, nailed the notes! just bach's distorsion is needed. :P
The guy is a student singing a very dificult song. From another video I watched, he hasn't been doing the KTVA course for long. In time he may learn proper distorsion. Besides his speaking voice is lower than S Bach's.
I'm a fan of S Bach too. He was the one who made me dare to sing 22 years ago but that distorsion which sounded so powerful and cool ruined his voice. The guy had a most craved treasure in that awesome voice and lost it for not knowing how to distort it harmlessly and being all the time out of control. I'm not judging him. That's just what happened. He was a 20 year old with the world at his feet. Back then he never thought he would loose his voice at some point, I once read, but that he did.
Sebastian Celesner There's no way to do distorsion 100% safe. It'll always have an effect. With bach's style, it was inevitable, even with the perfect technique...
I'll take into acount. Distorting my voice is not my style cos I could never do it. However, Ken Tamplin and his student from ten second songs do it great. It's hard to imagine Ken tamplin doing sth that could hurt sb's voice. Anyway your comment is valid to me. You a singer?
blazejecar actually that is not true. I do it all the time. It has to do with the way you compress the air and how much you strength train a clean sound first before leaning into the sound with compression. I cover this thoroughly in my singing course
That's great to know. I may end up doing a bit of distorsion then.
thats some intense vocal lesson. thumbs up for the vocal coach (y)
I didn't noticed it was Ken in the small window, but recognized his awesome style and thought: it must be him!
It's me!
AWESOME!! Kenny you are the REAL deal man. So glad to be working with your system even though I'm still in the early stages of your program lessons! Nice to see a bit of real one on one lesson video too!
like love hurts sung by Nazareth this is one of the voice breaking songs...excellent job i said, ...man...this man is a good teacher ..
This is halarious!
This is golden, thank you so much.
You're very welcome!
Difficult choice song. I would kill to sing like that. Such hard work, you have great teacher. takes hard work to do all that, I admire you
Awesome! Not many people today are aware of Kip Winger existence but he have always been a big influence on me and my music. He's the reason why I became a musician but if I can sing like him I'll be one happy guy
this is awesome.. a lot of stuff right there to learn
wow, your videos are pure gold man.
"AHHHHPTH. Really? You think you're going to do an OO vowel that high?" 4:50 - That made me laugh out loud. I learned so much from this vid. I never realized how much *I* was closing down until seeing this kind of "straight up" play-by-play analysis. Thanks for posting.
Excellent...
😊
PS: Mickey has a fabulous relaxed static position larynx and an amazing mix voice
yes he was
Loved the video! There's definitely much to learn in it. Thanks for uploading this. It also gives us insight on what we can expect from a skype lesson from you, which is great. A lot of vocal coaches out there, but not many actually show you what a real 1:1 lesson with them would be like before you cough up the cash. Again, Thanks!
Actually good too
Man that rocks!!!
Sebastian Bach learned an old Italian type of singing called Bel Canto, that is why he was able to sing like he did.
saw you on his highway staRR sing! your amazingggggggggggg! sebastian bach was an amazing singer as well ! you do this killer man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great voice!!
Good job!!!
Pretty Damn good!!!
He is good.
throat closure in the upper register. Ah is MUCH easier to sing coming from open vowel to open vowels than I (like lid). I can be hard to close down to. Moving the vocal tract off the Ah vowel as least as possible allows for the easiest access to other vowels. Keep the vocal tract as close together as possible.
Dang...this whole thing is wailing high C's and he sounds awesome.
yes I have
What I want is for you to sing the song Ken
Sebastian bach melhor vocalista do mundo
we forgot the end bit !!!! OOOOH YEAH! ( job well done eh?)
😊
WOW!! Glad you teaching this to sing properly. Heard so many try to pull this song off either blow their vocal chords...or sound a little hoarse. I play drums/perc. I just started to sing lead in the last few yrs. I always need to fuel up, I find that bananas, pasta or fish seems to b my fuel that gives me the energy & stamina I need. What about eating b4 a show. Is it dangerous to sing on a full stomach. What could I eat 2 get the energy I need & not hurt myself!? Thanx. I'll pass this link on.
Damn, this is crazy! SKYPE BABY!
I will try to get to Kip soon. Reb Beach (his guitar player) played on one of my albums back in the day :-)
I learned a lot from this. So basically we're not aiming at pronouncing the words how they are, but focusing more on the vocal sound rather than the consonants if they are not needed, and we do that not to only emphasize the note sound of the vocals, but maintaining the jaw without moving much?
Its called vowel modification
Thanks James :-)
Man this looks hard
My course can help you reach your singing goals. kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
Epic lesson's glad forever! Thx for share my boss 💪😻
My pleasure, Leo Metal Vocals!!
good job there!
May I please half half the vocal talents of these guys please.
This kid can play Sebastian in the Skid Row Netflix movie.
Rock on!
If you translate this video in spanish it gonna be awesome. Great voice dude!! Cheers from argentina.
Buena varon. Saludos desde lima peru . Tienes buen registro de voz. Exitos
Thanks so much!!!
It a lesson on how to get there. Not a showcase of already arriving. It's meant for others to learn from people's strengths and weaknesses. I could have easily walked in, sang it and then how do people benefit from that unless they understand the roadmap on how to get there?
This song is crazy to learn...
No I don;t teach nasality. Teach balance in the voice. If someone has it, I work with them to get more balance out of their voice.
Good job...and so cute :)
He is an excellent student, and a very good singer.
wow great
this was cool. Sebastian, your hard work is paying off and I hope that one day I can hit those high notes. Ken Tamplin, you're so cool. I'm so doing a Ken Tampathon on RUclips right now. I like how you post stuff about your students so future students can get an idea of what we could learn in X amount of time.
Oops. I called you 'Sebastian' 'cause I thought that was your name. Sorry. Your name is Adam. I think.
No worries! Adam is a hard-working vocalist. He's in a lot of the demonstrations I have in my Pro Course.
sweet!
I have done that, check out my classics video where I am singing Fooled Around And Fell In Love
Nadie puede cantar como sebastian, nadie!
So great . Ahh oooh vowels, don't close down , continuous from vowel to vowel .
The throat stays in position , the volume goes down , instead of abbreviating from word to word , no strain ...
The wrong way would be ; Open, close, open, close, abrupt , that's exactly how you LOSE your voice
Great tools Ken, Priceless
I have a 100 videos of me doing songs like this, I want people to see the process with students
This is outstanding didactic material. Wow.
I wasn't saying anything derogatory about the student I think he's amazing. I was literally asking for a tutorial on how to hit higher notes so that I'll be able to sing a D6 or like the guy from steelheart

good job man. tough shit to do. i have been trying for years. baz has SUPER hard shit to do. even your teacher isn't perfect but still damn good. he has a unique voice but close still counts compared to baz. great teacher tho
yeah when mickey sings its seems like it's so easy, when he hits the notes above E.
lol! literally funny! no one can sing like Bach.
Not even Bach any more
kentamplin Very ture, saw him at Sonisphere a week ago and the voice isn't what it used to be
Lol he can still sing good, but not asssss good.
***** he's learning. if he was as good (or better) it would be how to sing better that S Bach....
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Lol jokingly I mean I was talking about Sebastian Bach can still sing good, but not as good as his old self. This guy can sing good though.
PEEEERFECT
👍👍👍
Ken, I am a TOTAL fan of YOU, and especially your COUSIN Sammy HAGAR, when it comes to Van Halen. And, I am JUST NOT going to EVER pick David Lee Roth as a good or great band member of the band, BUT, we all know that Sammy Hagar and Gary Cherone had also been singers in the band.
And, I am totally INTO Sabastain Bach being the dude that has sung this song and has been the guy that kicks TOTAL ASS on it.
You are welcome to send a sample of your singing to ktvainfo@gmail.com for a vocal evaluation
holy shit the ending :O epic
I want to ask, how do we sing with a high voice like him without having to expend too much energy. please answer me this question. because I'm in the process of learning a high note
Hey Kent...Don't know if you remember ....but in the future can you work on Devin Townsend vocal technique? Thank you SR. By the way... love this video..awesome vocal session.
Thanks Ken!! already watched it;) I strongly believe it when you said that a credible vocal coach can really 'show' you how to do it..i've seen many vocal teachers who can teach many things but can't sing...i 've watched videos of your singing and that's what got a hold of me.Is there any way that i could let you see a video of my singing? I've tried but i can't put any link on the comments? Thanks Ken!
can you do a tutorial on how to hit higher notes than you voice can go ?
I don't know if you have a video of this as I just became a fan of your videos but can you do a video of how to sing like Kip Winger if you hadn't already thank you
Please write to the real Baz and teach him back how to sing!!! He totally forgot by now..
Gianluca Sighinolfi its true but its too mean for an old guy to sing like he was 30 years ago
Me lembrou o Xororó cantando "Evidências": "E nessa loucura... de dizer que não te quero...."
Wow incredible voice. So much potential
Holy shit! Dude , are those Skype vocal lessons for free?
You just earned yourself a subscriber.
Can you do a video for Bach's "Angel Down"? That's going to be very interesting. :)
I have a demo of Adam doing She's Gone from Steelheart. It's on my channel. It's all good :-)
wow ken! didnt know you could do some sebastian bach ! tom kiefer???????????
i think this song would be easy if we focus on the headvoice instead of pushing chest too much
i really liked this vid mate!
will you do some of Russell Allens work?
I've been watching a lot of your videos the last few days like how to sing like Dio, Mili Matijevic, etc. The one with Dio actually helped me out quite a lot actually. But anyways, Sebastian Bach is my favorite singer and I'm always trying to sing his Skid Row and solo songs. When I sing along with it I sound on the right key and right octave to me, but when I listen to it on recording I can tell it's not the right octave. I have a really deep voice, and I can talk lower than anyone I know and it sounds natural, and if I wanted to, I can literally scream high at the top of my lungs like a 4 year old little girl at any time. Not sure if that has a lot of correspondence with each other, I just wanted to know your thoughts on that and if you could give me maybe a few tips or point me in the right direction of not straining or sounding kinda like a seal when I try to sing higher.
Ken, I heard wasted time cover and this teaching lesson, and I have a question. I can understand the subtleties on open vowels to hang on to vocal strength. I've seen this many times, but I hear the use of technique for compensating a voice that's naturally thinner. My question is if is it possible to widen the range and make the voice thicker, so it won't be needed a vowel technique that makes it sound away from a well pronounced language? Or are we condemned to never achieve such an effect due to genetics...
Really great conversation for the forum. Please post there, beneath "General Singing". Other singers will benefit from the reply and you will receive great feedback from either myself or one of my commentators. It's free! forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
this guy is baritone? i don't think so, right?
Cover Truly Madly Deeply savage garden please Kenn
You are trying to teach him to do the impossible lol
Im so like your lessons Im not a singer actually Im a guitar player from berklee but I want to get your lessons I want to learn how to sing.
I too started out as a guitar player who taught myself how to sing like this. I discuss this in my course
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy I was about to ask u 1 day if u took any vocal lessons yourself, or if u were self taught? Looks like I got my answer:). Very cool to know!👍🏻
Yes,understandable and well put ken. But u could have dun this on ur own and then after song was over, explain a little. Also, how can/do u sing a song 2 where vocal tracks overlap music tracks, making it seem like they don't come up for air?
