Edit; for anyone struggling with the material not gong white do this:
select mesh, hit tab, hit A to select all verts, go to materials select the material you want to apply and hit assign, hit tab to exit edit mode and keep working on your shader

I'm new to 3D art, and digital art in general. it's fun to experiment, and has so much potential.
Your tutorials are more interesting and stylish too, than others I've seen on RUclips.
What made me interested in Blender is seeing those 'simulated' gifs online, so many cool bizarre things! My goal is to one day make my own simulations.

One small tip that could speed up your process a tad!! If you draw your font on plain paper with no lines, when you upload it to illustrator you can “image trace” and “expand,” instead of using the pen tool to trace the letters. I love your channel and your tutorials, thank you sm!
omg i love you
true but if you trace it yourself with the pen tool I find it easier to manipulate the shapes, image trace usually results in a ton of anchor points with very short handles, so if you want to change a big curve for example, you may end up deleting a bunch of anchors and making a new one with long handles to achieve an even curve
@@gepettowins interesting!
@@gepettowins yup no beziers and you want those!
@@gepettowins You can image trace, then object > path > simplify to clean it up automatically with control over how many anchor points you reduce etc

For the flat faces part (with the jagged lines) you can select all those faces in edit mode and the hit "I", then type 0.01 or 0.005. I know in this video here you do it differently for the sculpting mode, but I thought I'd share this tip here for anyone who might need it on another project.

Also where can I get your textures like the one you used on the other blender chrome tutorial
Thank - you !! And most of my textures are created by just making the material reflective and using an interesting hdri :-) will release an intra hdri pack soon
Great tutorial. Exactly what I need but I have noticed one thing. After rescaling svg to final size, the general scale need to be applied "ctrl + A" and scale . If not the remesh modifier will not work properly and strange shit happens.
I’ve never heard of blender and I’ve never done 3D art but this vid got recommended and I watched the whole 12 mins 😄 very cool saving for maybe the future 👀
this came up in my recomended, isnt something I intended to learn but I loved the tutorial and ur very charming to listen to so i subscribed :D
you make this looks so easy, really appreciate the effort you put in this!!! 🙏 thank youu!! altough i have a problem with the sculpting. my object disappeared when i use the smooth tool ;-;
same T_T did you find a way to resolve this?
Thank you for this! I'm having some trouble with applying the remesh modifier. The vertices aren't showing up as cubes, just horizontal lines? And then when I try to sculpt a letter smooth, it disappears. Just wondering how I can fix this, thanks! :)
it did the same and it was because I forgot to click on apply after the re-mesh thing !

Rad video dude! I've been meaning to check out blender for a while... Seems a lot more straightforward than I thought it would be. Biggups!
I'm so glad I found this tutorial. Thank you so much for creating it! I am stuck and confused about something - I think I have followed everything to the T but for some reason my letters are staying like a Matt surface even with the metallic turned all the way up and everything you said to do but for some reason I am not achieving that shiny, glossed, metallic look. Any ideas as to why this would be happening? Anyone?
same here
So basically, I have the newer version of blender and had the same issue. There may already be a material input. If you delete it then add a new one it should work ☺️

your tutorials are so fun & chill :) thanks so much
Queen shit. Loved this so much omg, one question tho, everything worked but once I opened the video file all the colors look washed out :( do you have any idea why?
yo thanks!! Perhaps in the render properties tab under color management, change it from filmic to standard? If not it might be your compositor you've probably set the values for the glare node too high/low
omgggg THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! i’m following the tutorial side by side right now and ran into some issues. when i re-meshed, the weird texture is still there. and when i go into sculpt mode and smooth the mesh, the whole thing disappears. any ideas how to fix this?
