Je l'ai vendu (je n'aimais pas le sillet de 1 11/16). Mais je viens d'acheter un de 1946 avec un sillet de 1 3/4; il est chez Ralph Bonte pour un refrettage.
It sounds crazy but I seriously believe playing with old guitars makes you better. Probably because you're more careful and precise but you can also believe it's because it has been played by many experienced people over the many years it's been around.
Interesting to see the difference with a 50s one - I have a late 30s one, and my pal has a late 40s one. All good! :-) You even played a bit of a Lightnin' Hopkins in A that I'm learning just now, albeit probably slightly different tune (I've gone for Fast Mail Rambler). Enjoyed listening!
Good luck with your on sale, Im sure its a fine guitar, but I bet you could take a stick with a string on it and make it sound great! btw, those old L-50's have really gained in value in the last few years, again good luck with your sale.
Just my opinion of course, but out here in youtubeland this L-50 and that Loar you had are two of the best sounding guitars I've heard you play.... they both record beautifully.
daddystovepipe, can you talk about the fourth song that you played, and how you learned to play jazz? I can play the acoustic blues pieces that you chose, but I would love to learn to play jazz! Best wishes.
Hi Michael, it's an exerpt of a piece called "A Little Love A Little KIss", originally recorded by Eddie Lang, more info concerning jazz lessons on these pages of my website www.daddystovepipe.com/fingerpicking-jazz-ebook.php and www.daddystovepipe.com/django-reinhardt-ebook.php I'm not really a "jazz" guitarist, I learned a few pieces but that's it.
@@daddystovepipe thank you. I think my issue was using electric rounds instead of bronze. It really sounded like shit so I used flats and it was way better but still left of center. After hearing your great tone, I will definitely give it a shot. Thanks so much! I'll let you know how it goes.
I like how you incorporated licks from Lightning's Shinin Moon in A into this. Well, hell, I liked all of it.
I have this same guitar & same year, this is in way better shape. Both beautiful!
Great picking
I stumbled across this and I must say thank you. That was simply fantastic. My hat is off to you good sir.
That old bugger plays pretty good. The guitar sounds great too :)
Oh! You put her through all the paces! Wonderful!
really good playing and nice guitar too
Beautiful playing
I have one from 1954. It is a really fun guitar to play.

Thank you master!
Man I wish I could play like that.
Pratice pratice pratice ..believe in your self and you will play like yourself only better .

What a sales technique you have. Excellent!!
It was advertised on a Belgian site and sold while I was writing the ad on a Dutch site :-)

beautiful playing, i bow to you, oh master.
What is asking price for the guitar and are you playing through an amp?
Art Habighorst it's €1100, I'm playing without an amp, the guitar has no pickup. Someone already took an option.
that guitar needs your fingers
