Thank you so much, James. I was a student at UMD in the mid 1970's and lived there with my wife and son. He has passed, but your video has revived so many great (and not so great) memories for me. Your videos showed at least 2 buildings, one of where my son passed. It also showed on the hillside where my family lived, but those buildings are no longer there (it was called "The Project" back then). Our apartment had a world class view of Lake Superior, not very far from where you landed your drone at the end of the video. Our subsidized rent was about $50 a month.
Yes😎 I truly wanted to show both views I flew since it felt a little crowded to fly over on the day and time I flew. Happy you found my travel channel with over 1,000 videos from around the world.
Isn't it AWESOME!!! I spent almost half my life in Minne"snowda!" Lol. Been to Duluth and up to Two Harbors. Oh the interesting facts about that Great Lake! Thank you James for filming Duluth. Thrilled! 😁🍁🍂🍁 🧡
3M Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing started in Two Harbors! Wonderful Company! ❤ Lilacs don't bloom there till July! They've finally found the bottom of Lake Superior at 1300 feet! Minnesota has more than 10,000 lakes! 🙂
Great information Lyn😎 I found many lies driving both northwest from there and through the central part on Minnesota. I ended up spending two days there and playing in the middle of it all.
I don’t know what it is but man to me Duluth is just one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to I don’t even live there and only been there about 6 times but everytime I go it just feels like home
It truly is beautiful to wake up and walk around downtown Duluth. The lighting at night, the historical buildings and the lake front all give it something no other place I have seen offers as one package. In my travels to over 50 countries and islands I can assure you Duluth is unique 😎
@@JamesBeBop sweet so it’s just not me being a Minnesotan being biased cool but yeah I’m probably will plan to move there at some point actually will be driving through it today to go to superior to see some friends
James, I'm a videographer for UMD sports. I would like to know if I could use this footage on official UMD social media accounts. It's phenomenal work!
Thank you! All of my over 1,100 videos from around the world are for lease along with over 16,000 photos on www.JGlowacki.com from over 50 countries and islands. email for additional information. Happy you found my travel channel 😎
Have you had any negative interactions with the public while flying your drone in Duluth? I have wanted to fly my drone there but wasn't sure if Duluth had rules prohibiting it and/or people would take issue with it. I'm a Part 107 commercial certification holder and would like to try out new places to fly my drone this Spring/Summer.
No issues; however, I avoid flying where people may say me or I fly in front of a Law Enforcement agency so no one thinks I am doing something wrong. Seattle was a big exception for me when a guy noticed my remote and stopped to ask questions. I explained I could not talk while flying so he stayed to talk after. Happy you found my travel channel with over 1,000 videos from around the world :)
@@JamesBeBop Sounds good! I live down in the Twin Cities Metro and so that's where I'm flying the majority of the time. I just wasn't sure if the city of Duluth has stipulations about flying aside from getting LAANC approval from Duluth Airport if needed. I always try to research this ahead of time because some cities will try to regulate where you can take off and land drones etc.

I look at AutoPylot to plan. The FAA has several approved apps right now to use for LAANC. Hope this helps.
