any idea when you will post an update with the new turbine?
I got the charge controller back together, and It works. It did make some fumes after it started running, but I hope that was just the new components warming up. It ran 8 hours with 5-6 m/s wind and made 0,9 KW.
Looking forward to seeing how this works when it’s up. I’ve got scaffolders in for some work. Wondering how I might future proof things
Hello. What do you think of the turbine so far? what is the average kWh you are getting per day?
Great to see a magnum 5 in the flesh, I can not believe what I'm seeing with that tesup tower, that would fail in a light breeze, when you look for a pipe get the thickest wall pipe you can find, sch 160 or xxs, with that diameter rotor it's going to put a serious load on a 50mm pipe. Also your blades, with that bolts sticking out proud from the surface, that's going to be seriously noisy, be better being flush, Also put on an emergency turbine stop switch which shorts out the phases to stop it if the controller packs in. Also balance the blade assembly and check tip spacings are equal, I made a balance jig from a bolt, some skateboard bearings and a 4x2
Excellent advice, thank you.
@@sustainableorange looking forward to see you get it up and running, looks like it could make some good power
Have you filed a small claims court form yet ?
File a Small claims court form, get your money back from Tesup
You definitely need to add some bigger washers and nylocs or lock nuts, that things gonna shake like a Mackem in a maths test!!! Hope you get it working, my kit I received also has a faulty charge controller but no such luck, not even a response from them. Ive got to agree, this company is diabolical.
I agree, will probably need to swap most of the bolts and fixing out for stainless and nylock.
Have you filed a small claims court form yet ? I'm in part two of it now.
Hi, can you advise on where to buy the inverter from i have the Tesup Hera 7
I am having a horrible time getting a hold of this company. I have wanted to purchase something but need more help with my current set up, since I have an off the grid solar situation but it won't power my mini splits. I live fairly remotely and our town could really use this as a back up we get a lot of wind, and no one seems available to help. I would love to find out more if you can assist. Thanks!
Honestly I would avoid. Istabreeze have an excellent kit that I wish I had purchased instead. I’ve had no power out of my turbines so far. Getting hold of them is a nightmare. Customer service is virtually non-existent & the products I have are very poorly designed and made of very cheap components.
good morning sorry to bother you the last vido you put up was this one when tesup replaced your vertical wind turbine for standed one i have got a hera 7 and has of what it has not moved i am talking to them about it and i have a 1.2.1 on monday .have got the new one up and how are you finding it .thankyou for your time
yours bob
I have been struggling to get a safe and secure mount for the magnum 5. I’m hoping to have it up and running soon to test it over the winter and collect data, but the build quality has been very poor compared to other brands I’ve been looking at.
after watching your vido i can see what you mean you where looking to use a scaffold tube but it was to small what about using a scaffold bar as a splint and use scaffold clamps to hold the two together that way you will still be useing there parts and not inpacting on the warranty @@sustainableorange
@robertgoy9367 that’s the biggest issue, they mount they ship with the Magnum 5 that I was going to use is absolutely NOT safe or fit for purpose. I think I’m going to use an aluminium scaffold pole (which I have) and some steel cables to the 3 points or the tower to try to triangulate it as best I can. Fixing the pole to the tower shouldn’t be too bad either, but it’s a long job to switch out the atlas 4.0, I haven’t had time yet.
Muito bom o vídeo:)
Hi, looking to get there most recent VAWT Atlas 7. Any suggestions?
Hi Nicholas, my advice is get a good anemometer first and data log the wind speeds at the exact location you are planning to put the turbine.
My atlas 4 has not performed as expected before the unit failed unfortunately, and needed higher winds than advertised to get going for much more sustained periods.
You need consistent wind for over a minute before any inverter will start generating power unfortunately, so gusty wind will not generate you much power at all.
Data log the wind speeds before investing in any turbine. Make sure it will work in your use case.
I now have received my AtlasX7 and have already done many tests with it, even in high winds (>10m/s) but cannot get it running. Can you give me contact information of the Tesup person you have contact with? I already have tried to contact Tesup via the website and Whatsapp but until now no response. Thanks Tjerk
I had similar experiences.
I went via linked in but the main point of contact was Nursu Azslan. Previously I had spoken with Victoria D and Amanda Pereire too.
I found reaching out via linked in was the best way to get hold of someone.
Unfortunately support is not very fast at responding. :(
Hi I need your help! My charge controller fried the No 3 Resistor. The big gray one. Is there any markings on the one you have? If not could you measure the resistance of it?
Happy to try to help. Can you drop me an email to thesustainableorange@gmail.com with photo and what you need to know?
Have done.@@sustainableorange
Hi, what is the latest with the Magnum 5?
It’s still in the garage as I’m not happy with the mounting system. It’s not safe at all.
Especially around cars, dogs and children.
I think I have a solution but I need to swap out the broken atlas 4 still. At least I know my tower is safe up to 80mph winds.
I had one good day with my Magnum 5 during a 24 hour run it made 6 KW, wind was 5-9 m/s . If it had been 7-10 the same day the power output would be 12 KW.
Awesome, was that using the supplied charge controller?
Yes with the original charge controller and Growat gridtie converter.
hello thanks for the video , have you mode start qnd consomation entry and out of this electrical product ?
thanks good job
DO not purchase Tesup
Based on my experiences I would recommend the Istabreeze…
Hi there did you start using tesup magnum 5 ,if yes any conclusion? Worth any money to spend. Will you make some more videos about turbine ? Many thanks and all best
So far still trying to find a safe way to mount it to my tower as the pole it ships with is not safe or fit for purpose unfortunately.
Understood turbine is not cheap, and pole looks weak, so safe first but can you say anything about Magnum 5 ? Did tou tested, can do 5 kwh ? Worth money to spend .many thanks and all best
I can’t comment on if 5kw is possible, but based on the Betz Limit I suspect you would need
@@sustainableorange OK nice one look forward to see more videos, all best
Never Purchase from Tesup
You are just flogging a dead horse with Tesup or indeed any wind turbine if you are not in an incredibly windy area they don't start producing any useable power until spinning at full tilt
Tesup is a scam company
The pole is to weak, mine bent after first test.
Mine is too weak to even hold the turbine straight, it wobbles on every joint up the tube and I’m currently trying to find a new mounting solution, working with Tesup for advice.
@@sustainableorange If you think Tesup even has engineers, you still have blinders on, You think Nursu is going to help.
File a Small claims court form, get your money back from Tesup
I want to try to get it working…
But it’s not looking promising :(
The pole that I paid & wasted money on from Tesup was weak & I never trusted it enough to stick the tesup 5kw on. Terrible Crap. & it rusted badly in less than a year
Yep, I’ve built my own tower and it’s stood up to all the storms flawlessly.
The tesup atlas 4 is still dead and the magnum is still not mounted unfortunately. I’ll be rectifying that soon.
Just forget this rubbish brand, it's just not worth wasting your time on it.
Well I’m invested at this point and I would like to try to get it working, if only to give others with problems a way forward too…
looks like a piece of junk,,, birdies can make a nest on it
File a small claims court form if you purchased from Tesup
@@Themachinewonhow comes? I'm assuming you have had a bad experience with them? I've not bought from them yet but I was considering it.
@johngroves1023 do NOT buy from them. I would recommend Istabreeze if you want something that might actually work. I’ve had such a poor end user experience and been left to my own devices when asking for support. They can’t even provide a safe mounting solution. I’ve had to engineer my own and hope for the best.
convert it into a birds nest
Ha! That is a genius idea! 😂
Why are you giving exposure to Tesup - look at their trustpilot reviews, you are promoting them, gives you zero credibility.
Besure to post the video when it comes crashing down
Certainly will, although I’ve secured it so well I suspect it’s more likely to split apart than fall.
