    Today we’re doing the US ARMY FITNESS test, there are 2 versions, the original one is purely bodyweight, so that’s what we’re going to do.
    Most pushups in 2 minutes
    Most situps in 2 minutes
    a 2 mile/3.2km run as fast as possible
    If we fail 1 by doing less than required, we fail the test, so also the running
    rest time between exercises is max 20 minutes. and a minimum of 10.
    Arjen felt really sick after the first few hundred meters already and wanted to quit, but he pushed through

    • @nospeedlimitgaming9237
      @nospeedlimitgaming9237 3 года назад +73

      King Townsend you’re actually a dumbass. when you are becoming more tired while doing situp, you likely would begin to push more force up with your legs. This forced is constantly being opposed by the person holding your feet down. Thus, you legs become fatigued as even though your legs are relatively still, they are applying a lot of upward force.

    • @Victor_Escobar
      @Victor_Escobar 3 года назад +30

      @@nospeedlimitgaming9237 well he’s right but he’s wrong at the same time. Yes your legs will get tired regardless of them being held down or not. But being held down isn’t the right way. What they should be doing is putting something behind their feet so that they engage their core a lot more and decrease the amount of work put in by their legs.

    Great Vid! You should try the US Marine Corps fitness test. It starts with deadhang pullups. 4 is minimum 20 for max score (23 if your older then 21). Then crunches where you have to hold your biceps and just touch your thighs with your arms. shoulder blades have to touch the deck. 70 is minimum 105 is max score. (115 if your older then 21). Lastly a 3 mile run. 27:40 is minimum and 18:00 is a max score.

    Honestly, Calisthenics athletes will have it much easier than gym-goers. In Calisthenics you train so many different muscle groups as its not an isolated training.

    • @SJ-di5zu
      @SJ-di5zu 3 года назад +12

      Not necessarily. Calisthenics workouts take a lot more mind-muscle connection and so often beginners and even intermediates trying new exercises will work the entirely wrong muscles or get injured. Like when have you ever seen a beginner do push-ups and ACTUALLY be sore in the chest and triceps? Or do pull-ups and actually work their back? Plus once you get to a certain level you have to get creative to find good calisthenics workouts that legitimately challenge you. Going to the gym is definitely easier and gives quicker gains, but you can make calisthenics work for sure

    • @VitalityFitnessScience
      @VitalityFitnessScience 3 года назад +7

      @@SJ-di5zu yeah man I agree partly, that you make faster gains in the gym and that its easier, but also beginners in calisthenics get sore after a good push up or pull session. I mean I started 4 months ago with calisthenics and you just have to do it right and every exercise consciously. Beginners who injure themselves when doing the too fast too difficult exercises are just their fault 😂 but jeah man the mind-muscle connection is definitely there 💪

    Great job guys! Blew that APFT out of the water. The Army is switching/switched to the new ACFT and aren’t using the APFT anymore. However, the ACFT isn’t solely body weight workouts. The events that give soldiers and cadets the most trouble seems to be the sprint drag carry event and the knee tuck event or at least that’s what keeps getting most of the cadets in my rotc battalion. I know you prefer body weight workouts but it would be interesting to see what your thoughts on the ACFT vs APFT are in regards to difficulty.
