It actually does matter if it's made in Japan or China. The two countries have completely different quality control standards and different pride in their worksmanship.
Also have the same unit as yours po. Regardless on band (VHF or UHF), green color signifies that radio is receiving from Channel under 'A' and blue color for Channel under 'B.' 👍 My only concern is the repeater offset, couldn't program to my use (with offsets +6.23 and +2.94). It is a challenge to program repeaters from the front panel. For simplex, it's pretty straight forward. Also is programmable with CHIRP and also has a program software from the website. I stand corrected Sir and thank you. I got the color coded wrong and you are right sir Green is ChA and blue is ChB. FT65R is designed for amateurs with a specific offset. If you are going to use with a commercial settings, the radio will not accept it.
@@N7SIX That specific feature of the light changing between GREEN and BLUE makes the FT-65R unique in a way. I agree and accept that the product has this limitation on offsets. Thanks again for posting the video and I do hope this would also help more people make an informed decision as well!
It's no good The keypad doesn't light up like your VX170 they used to have the key pack lights up That's very important let it keep pad at night especially if you're walking at night time it's just playing stupid they don't put a little keypad they need to think it out before they design something it's not that much money to have a little keypad
hi sir patulong lang po sana, meron po kami base repeater na dual band, na may 143.215 sa recieving at 443.215 sa transmit na may Rctcss at Tctcss na 118.8, paano po kaya i conect si yaesu ft65 sa base na crossband dipo kc nmin kbisado ang setting, sana po maka pag upload kayo ng video kung paano gawin o i set, salamat po
Pwede nyo i-set sa vfo mode and ilagay nyo sa channel B yung RX 143.215 and set rctcss 118.8 tapos sa chanel A naman yung TX 443.215 and set naman yung tctcss 118.8. Ganun lng po! Hindi po sya pwede i-save sa channel memory.

The keypad is backlit on the 65r. Have two of them. a Cinese early version and a new japanese version.
