- In this flight, a GoPro camera was mounted on the right tail wing of a MIG-29 during an Edge of Space Flight with a client from England.
The flight reached 17,250 metres on altitude and a maximum speed of Mach 1,7 (1,850 km/h measured in that altitude).
We have flown up to 2017 high-performance fighter jets which could reach altitudes of 28 km and a maximum speed of Mach 2,5. In 2017 the flights with the MIG-29 were stopped, and the flights will not be continued.
The GoPro camera is using a 170-degree wide-angle lens, and because of that it comes to the "barrel effect", upper parts of the video are concave, lower portions are convex.
Must be awesome being up there. No people, no noise, no covid-19, just peace. Pilots are the luckiest people in the world!
