I’m 73 years old and have been embroidering since I was 10ish( taught by my grandmother) I never knew about pulling out from the color number end was the way to do it!!! I always guessed pulling one end or the other!!!! THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR THE TIP!!!!!💕💕💕
I stitched a lot in the 80s. Just now getting back into stitching. It’s so helpful to know about where to pull the DMC floss from. I can’t wait for your series. I just love watching you and always learn so much.
Thank you so much for all your info and tips and tricks. I always learn so much from you. Truth here...your best videos are when Jax makes an appearance. 😻
I have embroidered years ago but never cross stitched. I was thinking of trying it but not sure how to do it. And then...here is your video to help me! I am so excited!
I’ve been hoping you would place a video on cross stitch..I’ve never did cross stitch and I’ve so been wanting to learn..and a bonus Love your nails!! You rock..
Just like Pam Ketron said, I cross-stitched a lot in the 80s and am just getting back into it and I never knew about pulling the floss from the side with the numbers! Thanks, Erica!
I've been cross stitching for over 30 years and I loved your video! I'm looking forward to starting this series! Now I hold my fabric rolled in my hand when I stitch, but for certain projects I like using the Q-Snaps Needlework frames. They do a great job of keeping your hand oils off the aida cloth and it doesn't leave those hoop rings that the round embroidery hoops can.
Me too! I haven’t crossed stitched in years but you make it look good! I used to put masking tape on the edges of the cross stitch fabric to prevent unraveling.
I truly enjoy your videos! I've learned a lot, you are an excellent teacher & fun too! Thank you for the JOY pattern, I plan to make it for a special friend who uses that word for her mantra....we almost lost her a few years back! Merry Christmas & thank you so much! Joan
What a great video! The last thing I stitched was a birth sampler for my youngest daughter who is now 30 years old. I like simple patterns. My hope are to follow and keep up with you on this ornament journey. Thank you for sparking my interest again 💕🧵🪡🎄🐾🐾
Hi Erica I have been following you for a while now looking forward to the Crosstitch I am a beginner I have never Crosstitch before I’ve tried it by watching tutorials and I kind of gave up but today watching your video I learn something about Aida count thank you looking forward to the next ones
Am Absolute pleasure t meet you, Erica ! A bit late to the party - yet no less smitten with these wee treasures. Smilers and Charming are they. I have ordered the book of patterns and look forward to a HUGE jump start on Christmas this year !!! Thank you for so dearly gracing our world here on the farm. All the very best, marcia now..... on to parts 2 and 3 , and a major catch up with you on your podcasts posted ! ( ^ ; * )
My first counted cross stitch project since I learned from my Memaw when I was a young girl. I also saw the patterns on a Fat Quarter Shop video!! Love love love everything about this project 💕
I was thinking about taking this up again and your video has inspired me to do so. Can wait until the 12 days of stitching, meanwhile off to get my monthly truck pattern!!
This was an excellent help for me! I've been wanting to learn counted cross stitch and the way you explain things is clear and simple. Thanks Erica. And I loved Jax coming to "help"!
As a newbie, my first project is a flower in a jar design I got from Wal-Mart. It's on 14 count fabric. Been having fun with it but did have to remove some stitches because I lost my place. The line keeper is a must for me. I'll be ordering that for sure.
Yay! I’ve bought the ornaments pattern and even though I started stitching nearly a year ago, I know I will learn a lot from you as always. Btw, I totally agree about the floss flowers! I’m amazed they haven’t put a notch in them!
Love Jack, greater helper. Home he’s in your next videos lol. Thank you for these how to videos. I just started cross stitching using Lori Holt’s stitch card. Trying to work up the nerve to do some FQS patterns. Can’t wait to start these Christmas ornaments. Thank you 🧵🧵🇨🇦
Great tutorial for beginners Erica. I’ve been cross stitching for years and never knew the secret about pulling floss from a DMC skein until Kimberly Jolly showed it. Goes to prove you can always learn something new. Right now I’m keeping my DMC in a tin but it’s starting to get pretty full. I like how pretty yours looks in the glass jar. The hoops are super cute. Will have to order those for sure. Not sure if you heard but Pat Carson needles have been discontinued so you might want to try to source some if you still can. As always love seeing Jax. See you next time.
Erica, just FYI, the Pat Carson needles (which I love) are going to be difficult to find for a while. The company who makes them has stopped production for now, but hopefully they will back again in the not too distant future.
Jax is an enhancement to your videos! 😉 I used decorative duct tape to “bind” my boards. I’m just picking up cross stitch this year, I’ve found I love stitching words they’re so fun. 💜💜
Love all of your videos! Very well done and I learn a lot. FYI-the Pats needles 26 are discontinued according to Amazon and Fat Quarter is unable to get them.
I have several sets of floss keepers. My question was meant to find out when you are not using your floss, how do you store the floss. Like a special cabinet or etc.
Erica.. you may want to consider adding FlossTube or #flosstube in your title somewhere..it will attract viewers who may have not visited your channel b4 bc they are strictly into crossstitch.. for me I end up on the flosstube channels bc they end up posting some random video about quilting LOL
I'd say if it looks okay, go for it? I have older floss and it seems to be fine. But dust can cause it to kind of fall apart too, so just check it and if it looks good, then I don't see why not.
its been awhile since i've watched you erica! love that you are doing this, i have always been cross stitching but they are medium designs with lots n lots of threads and i take YEARS to finish!!! i am still trying to finish a pattern i started in 2019! i came in here to ask if you will be doing your family christmas vlog this year. would be interesting to see how the pandemic has affected all of us and now 2 christmas-es... love, from singapore.
Hello! I've never done cross stitch before but I want to make these ornaments! When I click on the 2nd video though it says it's "private", not sure if I'm doing something wrong...
Thanks Erica, I started the crossstitch a few days ago and I’m completely addicted! They are so fun and quick! I don’t see the ribbon link? Can you tell me where I’m missing it? Thanks!!
I've done cross stitch for decades, there really are no rules. The only thing I think that might be a rule, all your stitches should cross the same way.
I’m very excited to learn to cross stitch I’ve got tons of kits but I’ve not found the right video to help me learn so thank you ……p.s. the kitty tail was so cute and funny ❤️🥰😻#lovejacksonthekitty
The tail stole the show! 🤣🥰🪡
I see your cat loves to help, I love it
love Jax the supervisor. I think he should get credit for being your video coordinator. haha! i love these little ornaments.
Love your cat in your videos. ❤️
How generous, looking forward to your videos 🪡🧵
Great video! Loved your "stitching support cat" he is hilarious!
I didn’t know that you should pull DMC floss from the number side. Great thing to know. Thanks.
The cat is awesome! And so are you btw
Jax is a riot! Always makes me lol
On the floss flowers, maybe use a dot of Velcro and the loose thread will stick to the Velcro 😎
good idea!
I stitched a lot in the 80s. Just now getting back into stitching. It’s so helpful to know about where to pull the DMC floss from. I can’t wait for your series. I just love watching you and always learn so much.
His tail is so cute ❤️
Just last night I was looking for a tutorial on how to cross stitch. That's my girl Erica #ontime thank you sis
Thank you so much for all your info and tips and tricks. I always learn so much from you. Truth here...your best videos are when Jax makes an appearance. 😻
You are so good at teaching!
I have embroidered years ago but never cross stitched. I was thinking of trying it but not sure how to do it. And then...here is your video to help me! I am so excited!
I've never cross stitched but yours are all so beautiful!
Yes, I did ornaments like that in the 1980s and now I remember they are so cute-Thank you- I'm going to join in the fun!!!
Thank you for explaining the basics. I needed this!
Erica,
So glad to se you’ve expanding to cross stitch on your your tube! Thanks for the tutorial.
Love your cat!
So adorable
oh thank you! I cant wait to stitch JOY!!
I’ve been hoping you would place a video on cross stitch..I’ve never did cross stitch and I’ve so been wanting to learn..and a bonus Love your nails!! You rock..
I have been stitching for 20ish years…loved this video and I will be pointing my friends in Flosstube to checkout your video.
So excited for this series! My 5th grader has been wanting to pick up cross stitching.
Just like Pam Ketron said, I cross-stitched a lot in the 80s and am just getting back into it and I never knew about pulling the floss from the side with the numbers! Thanks, Erica!
Don't worry I have one that does the same thing she is always in my stuff. Knitting, quilting or anything else.
You can tuck the end of the floss under the floss that’s wound around the floss flower.
I've been cross stitching for over 30 years and I loved your video! I'm looking forward to starting this series! Now I hold my fabric rolled in my hand when I stitch, but for certain projects I like using the Q-Snaps Needlework frames. How CUTE! I have been looking for a SAL to start. Perfect timing.
I love love love the kitty tail❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thankyou I am a stitcher but I am really enjoying this! Thank you!
Love all the information you are so kind
Me too! I haven’t crossed stitched in years but you make it look good! I used to put masking tape on the edges of the cross stitch fabric to prevent unraveling.
Can’t wait for all the items to arrive! It’s been years since I’ve actively cross stitched and I enjoyed hearing what you had to say. Thank you.
I sure wish I had these helpful videos when I first started cross stitching! lol! Looking forward to the 12 Days stitch along!
I truly enjoy your videos! I've learned a lot, you are an excellent teacher & fun too! Thank you for the JOY pattern, I plan to make it for a special friend who uses that word for her mantra....we almost lost her a few years back! Merry Christmas & thank you so much! Joan

My first counted cross stitch project since I learned from my Memaw when I was a young girl. I also saw the patterns on a Fat Quarter Shop video!! Love love love everything about this project 💕
Just finished my first project in probably 30 years. And it was your vintage Christmas trucks! Thank you for all your beautiful patterns!
Great explanation! Thank you for sharing!
I loved your cross stitch video! Would you be so kind as to show us how you finish the hoop ornaments?
Thank you Erica for the pattern. Im looking forward to following along. As always great and informative..

Omg 😆 I love your cat, too funny!
Wow...I've done counted cross and embroidery for decades. Never knew about drawing the thread from the number side. :D
Omgoodness, this is so cool! I’ve always wanted to learn and I’m excited you are doing it. I’m in. God bless.
Thanks Erica, I need to make that project pouch now too 😊
Yay! I’ve bought the ornaments pattern and even though I started stitching nearly a year ago, I know I will learn a lot from you as always. Btw, I totally agree about the floss flowers! I’m amazed they haven’t put a notch in them!
Enjoyed - Happy Stitching❣️
Thank you for doing this Christmas monthly ✞ stitch. I’m so excited to start! 🧵

Oh no!
Looks like a lot of fun!! ❤
Your cat is so funny. He wanted attention too ❤😂
Loved the video thank you! And I purchased both the cross stitch and the quilting pattern!
Can’t wait to start! Thanks for doing this!

The “fancy floss” is DMC that has been hand dyed. Sometimes they dye over the DMC color it self.
I have several sets of floss keepers. My question was meant to find out when you are not using your floss, how do you store the floss. Like a special cabinet or etc.

thanks, done!
Super coool! I can’t wait to learn the proper way to cross stitch! When is part 2?
For the chicken quilt…. Hen party
Can you get printed cross stitch I have a hard time counting
Some stores probably sell it, I would look online, and I have seen some at JoAnn's as well.
Excellent information. Thank you.
I’ve inherited floss from my grandmother. Is it still good to use and will it rot?
I'd say if it looks okay, go for it? I have older floss and it seems to be fine. But dust can cause it to kind of fall apart too, so just check it and if it looks good, then I don't see why not.
Thank you! I just subscribed. 💕
Love your Cross Stitch vintage truck series . Do you have the one for Dec ready to purchase?
It releases 11/12 :)
@@erica_arndt So excited can’t wait. Thanks :[)
Does Aurifil have the same colors available as DMC?
They have pretty close options. If you google aurifloss to dmc conversion chart you'll find something that can help :)

Hi Erica, I bought the pattern, I would love the joy cross stitch to, however the link is not working and I can't find it on your site x please help x
The Pat Carson needles are being discontinued, but I'm sure you've heard that by now.
Yes, I'm so sad! I put a few alternatives in the description box below the video :)
Where do you get the supplies?
Where. Can i find the 2nd video for cross stitch tutorial?
Part 2 is here, and I'll update the end links to go to the next part to make it easier as well! ruclips.net/video/ip89e50XfYo/видео.html
I’m not sure if you heard Kimberly yesterday on Fat Quarter Shop floss tube said Pat Carson needles are being discontinued😳
The cat stole the show.
Is this pdf still available,?
Yeah!!
Thanks Erica, I started the crossstitch a few days ago and I’m completely addicted! They are so fun and quick!
I don’t see the ribbon link? Can you tell me where I’m missing it? Thanks!!
Oops, sorry! I added it, but basically you just need 3/8" ribbon, here are a ton of colors to choose from: amzn.to/2ZVW6kZ
Can not down load the joy pattern please help
Try to copy and paste the URL into a browser.
