i'll be reading everything posted here over the next week while i'm still in and out of the house, thanks to everyone for the responses. was not expecting this level of activity. have a great new year
This channel most definitely DOES NOT suck. It's great. Sure, it might have slowed down, but I'd guess that's normal, and focusing on variety might be hard to attract a dedicated public. But it's still great. You have a great personality and your videos are awesome. Keep up the good work.
ya man the ups and downs of videos are always a tricky thing. Especially when there's something you love but are concerned it might not land. I've had a few videos that have 'flopped" and it definitely hurts your motivation. I totally totally get it. Especially as you're finding your footing. This career is definitely tough, dude. But, I think you can continue to just find what works as you navigate this new era, you know? I feel optimistic for you. Sometimes we just need to take a second to look at the forest instead of the trees. All the best for the new year.
I miss the golf videos. Those are some of my favorites for your variety. Ik it headbutts with what you said, it being more difficult to get the groups together. But damn if it wasn’t a wholesome good time
i love golf games as well, i really wanna get them back on the channel. part of the fun is the chaos though and there's not as much chaos when there's only 3-4 people playing. maybe i'll bring back some edits/highlights of mario golf vs the full gameplays.
Came here to say this. I'll watch any Datto content that appears. I've fallen out of Destiny myself so actually the other Datto content actually hits harder nowadays.
Agreed. I don't play destiny anymore and haven't for a long time now, but datto was the only guy I kept sub to bc he's a genuinely fun guy to be around
all of this sounds nice to say but it just isn't true. I'm not saying you're lying, you're most likely being genuine, but the majority of people care way more about the content rather than the creator and this video is proof of that
That’s not true, that will only father 3-7K views per video which is unsustainable. He needs to review his passion and his subs to dictate his path forward.
5:29 Its funny you say that because the slay the spire and balatro have been my favorite pieces of content on this channel so far, every time a new spire video releases I throw it up and play a run alongside you lol
You are one of the few creators i always come back to for your personality alone. i find you so enjoyable and entertaining and will continue to watch anything you put out! i loved the irl videos where you had a chance to really flourish i guess? Youre one of my fav creators and i love seeing you enjoying yourself so please know that you will always have some fans who will have your back no matter what!!!!
I'm in the same boat lol datto is pretty much the only destiny* youtuber I actually still watch from time to time. He just has a cool personality i suppose and he'll always have a well based opinion or even just the base quality of the video is pretty good
I would like to agree with everything lilith said. I really enjoy Datto for Datto. I may not enjoy Destiny anymore, but I'm happy to watch him play whatever or do whatever so long as he's enjoying it :)
Hey man, I know I can’t speak for everyone at all, but I’ve been loving your content here even more than the destiny stuff. Your slay the spire and balatro content goes crazy, and watching you play deadlock was great too! Destiny content has been not as interesting since the game is kinda stagnant in general, I just don’t play anymore. I still watch your stuff, but I’m EXCITED when I see you post over here. Keep it up man, looking forward to whatever you put out ❤ also your irl stuff was great, the interview went crazy
Idk if you'll read this, but I didn't expect to like this channel as much as I do. When I hear about D2 content creators diversifying I usually don't watch the videos on other games, and to be honest I'm not a particularly loyal viewer to your main channel (watched a lot in 2014, dropped off for a few years, and started watching fairly regularly without subbing 2 years back). But I've enjoyed your gaming vids here and the chemistry and comedy of the Lethal Company vids especially. I'm a sub to this channel, if you take long breaks then I'll be here when you return (if RUclips notifies me of the vid properly). Hope all goes well and that your motivation problem improves, wish you the best and a happy new year.
As many others have said, this channel definitely doesn't suck. I think it's just a big period of changes right now and it's hard to find your confidence in turbulent waters. I've been watching you for the better part of a decade and I keep coming back to both channels for YOU because YOU are a cool dude and you're entertaining to watch. As far as other feedback goes I will say I don't watch Balatro or Slay The Spire or any of the rogue lite stuff. I always give new stuff a fair shake though so I'm definitely open to seeing more experimentation. You never know what's gonna be the next big thing. My favorite stuff here though is just you playing with your friends. My girlfriend and I love watching you and Fruit and co. play just about anything. I don't know if it's possible but we'd LOVE to see Jez play some of these party games. I can't tell you how many times we've said "can you imagine Jez playing this??" and proceeded to have a good laugh. No matter what you do though I know I'm not alone in saying I'm a die-hard fan and I look forward to whatever comes next for you in 2025! Much love to ya brother!
I know for myself, I have a hard time catching live streams. So watching the stuff you post here is a lot of fun for me, when I can’t often get the stream up because of work.
You're awesome Datto. Sorry it sounds like a rough year. Know that I and many others love your content and look forward to every upload, whenever that may happen. Thank you for the hard work you do and the amazing times and experiences you provide. I hope you and Danielle have a lovely holiday season, and look for do whatever you have next in store.
Gonna agree with most of the sentiment here, that I am here for you, Datto. I have not played Destiny in years, and being able to watch you branch out to other stuff has been a huge delight. I'm here for your personality, and even the stuff you don't find groundbreaking or your best content, still gets my views and I still enjoy it a lot, because it's you. You've got a knack for this stuff, and I would LOVE to see you try to experiment more. You've got a good thing going, and this channel DEFINITELY does not suck. Keep your head up, friend. I know I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. (Also Balatro and Slay the Spire has been SUPER peak, but I have loved the Codenames videos.)
I don't think this channel suck. I actually wish you would try all things and see what sticks. Bring back early 2010s youtube content. Don't be afraid to do whatever you like Datto \o/
Been watching your videos since the d1 alpha days. I've seen your content evolve and change over that time from purely educational videos, to guides, to something with way more of your own personality. I can't speak for everyone but what I can say from my own opinions is that there's a million people out there doing the same destiny content day in day out. During a new patch day or any new content there's 50 of the exact same video out there all about the one topic. I can whole heartly tell you that I don't watch your videos for the subject matter. I watch them because I think your very entertaining (see any datto elitist video as you asked for examples). I also will say that its okay to leave the destiny stuff behind, you've done it for what 12 years at this point clearly you don't enjoy it as much as you once did and its okay to say 'fuck it' and pivot the channel. Its okay for the viewership to dip, people will stick around because of you. Sure the videos may not see the same pull as before or there may be a year or two of building it back up or it may never reach the heights you have done but thats okay. As long as you can still pay the bills do whatever makes you happy, that goes to you and anyone else going through the throws of life.
hi datto! i've been a fan of yours via fruit's videos, but your main channel hilariously wasn't really up my alley because of the destiny focus, so i was thrilled when you picked up over here to do the variety content! loving slay the spire, the jackbox games, codenames, geoguessr! i agree that i deeply miss the extended dream team group dynamic; to your point about schedule balancing, i wonder if it would be worth having some of the variety game vids from the main channel over here as filler episodes when you need a video upload here when it's busy on the main channel? i sometimes go back to watch your golf it, ttt, among us, etc. videos on your main channel, and i'd love to be able to give you views over here instead, and perhaps this is the right community for it, since many others might be nostalgic for those vids + group as well. genuinely understand the fear concerning investing time and effort into new videos without being sure if it will work. i do try to rewatch the videos on this channel that i'm interested in (not all the games are my cup of tea, to be expected on a variety channel), so that maybe it helps even out the numbers a bit more. wishing you, danielle, and brim all the best for 2025! :) you clearly have a fair few folks who are here because we like you, so let us know how we can help!
I'm not even a destiny enjoyed anymore. I don't have a love for roguelikes either. I'm here as a Datto enjoyer. In that vein, would love to see you branch out into the wider world of game journalism. If your audience isn't interested in more than 1 video per game, capitalize on it and cover new games as they come out. Your analytical opinion and enjoyable presentation would go a long way. When I'm interested in a new game I'll usually check out the dunkey video so I'll have an entertaining but (mostly) honest look at what it is. Could definitely see a Datto version of this. Just my opinion
i've tinkered with the idea before, but i think i'm just burned out on having to approach things with an analytic/journalistic/educator mindset after having to do it on the main channel for so long. i actually worked on a video for a couple of months before i had to full throttle the main channel about monopoly go, but i just lost confidence in the video after being away from it for so long.
I stopped playing Destiny a while back, but I always enjoyed watching your videos when I did play. Since finding your variety channel, it's been nice to reconnect with your personality and sense of humor. Amazing it's already been a year...
Some genuine feedback; first of all. Love you man. I hope everything shakes out ok for you, you deserve it. Now, I feel like in the algorithm game, I'm pretty stuck on as a viewer for you, if I have nothing else going on or nothing to watch on RUclips, you are one of the places I go, and it always feels good. Your funny, your dry humor is EXELENT, your add reads feel fun, and it's a good vibe to just sit in. In terms of your raw points, I have noticed in my viewing habits, of Auto play doesn't stick me into one of your videos, I really only look for the games I enjoy in your content, but counter to your point I tend to watch all of those videos. That maybe makes me not the kind of audience you are thinking of courting, don't know what to do about that. If I had one thought I feel might be valuable to you, it would probably be this: I enjoy the social aspects of your content, and more specifically, I enjoy you sharing your interests with your friends. When I watch codenames or Mario party, it's for the banter, when I watch you talk about shoes, or cards you got rated, I am RIVETED. I enjoy your (variety) content the most when you are relaxing, and we get to hear you be witty, be fun, and joke around. The thing I've NOTICED, is that so long as your doing that, I am happy to watch things I am not normally exited about. I am happy to dive into Mario party or shoes, because of your vibe, and your fairly high level perspective. It is the mixture of those two things, a fun social personality and a drive to be GOOD at whatever you are doing, that draws me to your content here, or maybe I should say that it's what makes your content feel UNIQUE. You are the destiny communitys dad, and you knock that role out of the park, you tell it like it is, you calm the community down when it lights its self on fire, you care about the things that MATTER, your the guy that grew a community into GOOD players, you didn't let people slip below a bar of quality-of-GAMER, that's wild, that's fascinating, the way you wrapped that up into you collaborations fit too, dry humor, Dad-jomes, over played arrogance for the bit, and steering the ship in raids or criticism...it's reductive, but 'destinys dad' does fit. That learned on-screen presence is alive and well in THIS channel, and I feel like even to someone who never touched destiny and never got the 'why' that's a valuable on screen presence different from alot of other groups dynamics that makes your videos worth the watch time. I would ADD to this, that you are an athlete. It's like you can't help yourself but compete, even if it's only with yourself. There's a sharpness, a predatory ferocity that you tackle games with that invests YOU into what your doing, and makes me care too. That gets wrapped up in kindly, funny, comedy datto into a persona that is the 'Brand' I adore. That intense drive for improvement that's still approachable and real. It exites me, it interests me in... Whatever you end up doing... But only when both are present. Don't get me wrong, that first aspect, the social you is fun. I would watch just for that, but it seems to me like your 'hungry'. In want of a new hill to conquer. If I'm honest, what hing just your deadlock gameplay or your solo gameplay to climb that hill... I feel like I can get that in a lot of places. But when it's BOTH. When you are on the hunt AND being social, that's flawless man. That's what I would argue your 'best' content is. I think that was the magic of a jez raid video, or the world's first race, or you sitting the community down to have a chat. Editing matters, sure. IDEAS matter, but any time those two aspects coexist I *feel* it man. That's content I could never tire of. Anyway, that's the opinion of one guy, I honestly hope everything goes well, I wish you well, and hey man, I'll be here next year too.
Appreciate the transparency. Literally the only thing I can say is that I AM SUBSCRIBED but I literally have not seen any of your vids show on my page whenever Im on RUclips until now and I literally thought you werent uploading anymore at all
i hear this a lot, it's because of how the home page algorithm works and because youtube has pushed people more towards using the home page instead of their subscription feeds. if you happen to miss a couple of videos, or if the video performs poorly, or maybe just because you don't wanna/can't watch it the first time you see it in your home feed, youtube won't push it as aggressively to your or other people's feeds.
@@HelloDatto certified Bruh moment. Sometimes a Datto video is not walk to work material, its sit down to watch while eating or farming video ;-; Thanks for the info, probably gonna start using the subscription pages more often
There is definitely a fine line to walk between the creator's passion and the audience's interest. I can obviously only speak for myself, but I like to see videos about things you are passionate about up to a point, however it is not a point that should be taken as a personal affront. For example, I love that you love Deadlock, and that you want to make videos about it. I would rather you make videos about a game/topic you are interested in, than one's that you are not but might feel an obligation to (of course I don't know anything about the factors that go into successful content creation). That being said, I have zero interest in deadlock and admittedly did not watch any videos on it. The counter point is that I don't have any interest in shoes/sneaker collection, but I remember really enjoying your video(s) about your sneaker collecting because you were passionate about it and that passion was infectious. The same with your card collecting/ grading. I don't care to watch other videos about card grading and the ins and outs of collecting, but yours are enjoyable, because I like you as a creator and I enjoy your content on topics about which you are passionate. Speaking about a series in which you are worried that you don''t have the skill set to create exactly what you have envisioned, to me that shows a level of care and passion that will show through the final product. Again, I don't know anything about content creation but I will try to do better as an audience member to watch and support videos on topics about which I might not have as much of an interest.
i've enjoyed it just fine because i'm here for the datto personality, plus the destiny depression has hit me for the first time since season 10 so i'm always keen to see new things
I think this channel still has a lot of potential! I really love rougelikes as well. I’d definitely like to see you play Enter the Gungeon down the line. I think one suggestion I have is maybe doing some longer form singleplayer/co-op games? That way if you split it up into parts like a typical let’s play, maybe engagement might be more consistent across uploads of the same game. Some suggestions I personally have are some long RPGs like Persona and Kingdom Hearts, Metroidvanias like Hollow Knight and Animal Well, and if you haven’t played that many first party Nintendo releases on Switch or any other Nintendo console outside of party games with friends, maybe stuff like Pikmin, Mario, or Zelda. I also wanna see how you would do mainline Pokemon since I think I’ve only seen you do the trading cards. My personal dream is seeing you react to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky since that was one of the most memorable video game experiences for me in general. I still think you’re doing a great job with this channel and I would say don’t feel sorry for neglecting this channel in favor of the main one! It sounds like a lot of work to upkeep two channels at once and the fact that you’re able to keep up a somewhat steady pace on both is commendable. Keep up the work!
I agree - I love this channel and would love to see some let's plays! Puzzle games like Rise of the Golden Idol, battlers like The Bazaar, or co-op games like Operation Tango would be really fun as well as OP's great suggestions.
currently doing a pokemon nuzlocke with mr. fruit. i have streaming rights, he has the upload rights, but i do plan on making a video on my experience playing as soon as we finish (or don't finish)
Datto I have had you subbed to for literal years. This past 6-8 months have been the only time I’ve ever actually watched your content other than guides. I love you and you’re the absolute best. PLEASE continue playing more games and just recording yourself enjoying them
If you're looking to make group content, I know Ray Narvaez Jr. is always looking for people to play group games with; be it Mario Party, board games, Marvel Rivals, Lethal Company, etc. He would be happy to play games with you, I remember he said he thought you were a cool content creator in one of his previous streams :)
yeah, ray and i have a small history, he actually hosted me a little while ago after a while of neither of us chatting with each other. maybe i'll reach out.
I like this channel because its just more of your personality. I like to watch your destiny videos even if im not playing d2 at the moment. So as long as there’s consistent uploads here i’ll always be watching.
Hey, Datto! Just wanted to give some thoughts as a more inconsistent viewer. For me, the single most important aspect that I am looking for from a solitary video of yours - by which I mean just the media itself - is your passionate curiosity. The enthusiastic passion and curiosity is infectious. At least, to me, and those out there like me. When you have a clear interest in a game or idea, like the interview, or Slay the Spire, that interest and curiosity naturally embeds itself within the viewer. It invests us into the situation, curious just to see what the next few seconds have to hold. In that sense, this channel and your main are two sides of the same coin. While one helps satiate the curiosity of your viewers, the other invites us to participate in it. In gaming, this sees a payoff of improvement, of mastery, of getting into the nitty-gritty, the weeds, that feels satisfying, and incentivizes sustained consumption of the same game or idea across multiple videos. Of course, this is just my perspective. These are just my thoughts. Which is where the discussion starts to meld the art and the artist some more. As a viewer, I don’t know you. The only version of you I know is the one you present. I wouldn’t call you a friend, of course. The only relationship we have is the unique parasocial one that comes from being a creator. However, it is ultimately a creator-consumer relationship. I’d be curious to see (not literally, your life is personal) what correlations those actually in your life may have observed between your personal life and the general success of your content. I don’t know if anything noticed will help, nor do I know whether or not you’ve talked to them about it… But I do know that, in my very limited experience, it seems like those closest to me can observe me far greater than I could ever imagine to do so myself! Man, sorry. I rambled (part of why I rarely comment), but it’s late and I’m too tired to proofread. Regardless, good luck, Datto! Have a happy new year! I have complete confidence, like it seems many do, in not just this channel but in your capability to herald the change you want to see!
One thing I’d do is stop telling yourself “hopefully I can do that” or “hopefully I can make this happen” just take the word hopefully out of the equation and just make it happen. Just tell yourself i am doing this.
Honestly man some of your content in the last 3-6 months has been some of the funniest, most enjoyable stuff you've put out in the 8 or 9 years I've been following you. When you get to be creative with a script/concept and just be yourself, you're fucking hilarious. Give yourself some credit, give yourself a break if you need one, and come back stronger. I can't imagine how tough it is trying to make this work at the moment, but there's a reason everyone's getting behind you in these comments. You got this.
I feel for you. I will say that your vlog/irl content has been among my friends' and mine favorites this year, and we've been hoping to see more of it. Especially you and Danielle trying new things, or you and your friends in general. I'm sorry you've had so many obstacles this year. Much love to you both. I guarentee my friends and I will be here, no matter what content you make. Your obvious enjoyment of games or ideas is what keeps our interest.
if you have ideas for in person videos, I find those really enjoyable. The parkour one and the cliff jumping one were really entertaining. Even if you're worried you might not have the technical expertise, the only way to get it is to try it out and learn, right? Been a fan for years, fell away from Destiny but still check back here to see what's up. Always rooting for ya over here!
Bellingham here.... could use a part time "investigator" damage restoration project coordinator. Desk work, honest work helping people. I'm suffocating, could use a level minded hand that knows numbers and common generosity to assist.
Started streaming recently in a very basic way and ive majorly underestimated the mental toll that it can take. Its given me nothing but respect for people like you. Keep up the good work, and make sure to take care of your health too. Favorite thing ive seen you stream in the last year was the endless setlist with rahbby. Absolutely killer stuff!
In terms of variety content that *I* would like to see, if you feel like you could make any content on your sneaker collection, or possibly any opinions you may have on upcoming releases/grails/etc, I would eat that stuff up. You have this really nice collection in the background, but i never hear you talk about it on video. I know it's super niche, but i know it's something you have knowledge/passion about.
The thoughts of a viewer that check in intermittently: I think one of the main points of this channel is to make content and a channel around the personality of Datto and the actions of Datto. On one of the recent nuzlocke eps on Fruits gaming channel yall were talking about how personality channels of old (the Markipliers the Woodysgamertags etc of the world) are not how youtube is moving anymore with it being more towards event/actions of the creator (the Max Foshs the Mr Beasts the Ryan Trahans of the world). I think this channels goal is to split the two in a one foot in one foot out situation of doing personality gaming stuff and event lighting yourself on fire stuff. I believe the Datto personality is strong enough to carry a personality gaming video however this market of personality gaming is very saturated and to be a stand out in a visually boring game or a menu game is difficult but I believe is possible for this channel to fill a sort of Northernlion niche with personality gaming. One thing for a Balatro or a Slay the Spire is it needs to be paced better in either the edit or you when streaming need to keep pacing in mind for the video as it is one of the major reasons I dont want to watch. Another reason I often dont want to watch is the game is not interesting to me but theres not much to do there other than to play the game thats in the public eye. In regards to the lighting myself on fire style of event content, you and I both know there needs to be more of it, but of course that doesnt tell the whole story of it. Its expensive in time money and creativity. People talk about the first two a lot but creativity is a huge part of it too where its difficult to find an idea that you want to execute on. The idea you mentioned that would require lav+boom mics and multiple cameras i think is a fun idea whatever it may be because I presume it can be streamed and get a youtube vid out of it so income double dipping there. The good part of this idea is that you will learn and gain experience on how to do these "event" streams which will open more doors technically and make it easier to do similar things in the future. I believe this has a higher success rate than youd think but perhaps i dont know enough of the idea to say but historically these kinds of streams/vids do well for a creator. These things usually have more risk associated with them and while true the payoff is usually big as well. I believe that one of the biggest things holding this channel back right now is that its not getting treated as the main channel. I know that seems stupid with you dividing time how you are its not feasible to put the input in when the output is so much lower here. The big idea however is that Destiny content doesnt have the growth potential (and imo will never have again) that this channel and more importantly YOU have. Im not trying to minimize or downplay the risk of treating this as the main channel but you kind have already done it once and you have seen the results of growing much faster than expected and finding people have a demand for Datto doing new things (meaning they follow for your personality doing things) i.e. things like the interview video. The main problem in my eyes is that this channel got neglected for a while so things are a little slow right now however I have a potential solution. Sajam is a fighting game content creator and commentator. To give you a little cultural context I would say he is the voice of the fighting game community (fgc) as a whole the way you are for Destiny in that you are both the last bastion of trusted good will for the community. He hosts an event called the Sajam Slam where NON fighting game creators play fighting games to learn and see the fun in fighting games with a team tournament. This has exploded in popularity and has become a major boone for those who have participated through connections and viewership. It has both revived youtuber careers and made youtuber careers. You say you want to get out of your zone of the Destiny bubble and I truly believe this is a golden ticket out with it being lower effort than most ideas and with a huge gain for the creators that participated in it with it getting Overwatch players stuck in YOUR SAME POSITION out of the Overwatch, or any of their respective games, bubble (Eskay_OW Brawlpro CONEY LazyMattMan Dokibird supertf to name some). It works and it works well. There is a 4th one for Street Fighter and admissions are still going on as far as I know. To enter Sajam has a video announcing it with a Google Form in the description and if that doesnt work its worth emailing about. The gettings good right now before it becomes saturated as all things do and I believe this is a perfect next step. I believe in this channel and Datto. TLDR: -Gaming needs better pacing either in editing or live. -Bigger projects while are riskier have more potential and have more learning. -The channel has more growth potential than the Destiny one therefore might need to be reconsidered as the "main channel" with more effort here -You want out of the Destiny bubble? Sajam might have the solution (read this section if nothing else). -i want pokemon male named Artiglio
No worries about having the dry spells, man. I know I personally go through dry productive spells, and I don't even have to do that for my job. I definitely enjoy the content you've been putting out, but I also agree that group content is more exciting. Not to say watching you play Slay the Spire by yourself isn't good! Definitely good content, but it's just my preference for my RUclips consumption to be watching 2+ people on a video. (Your Mr. Fruit Pokémon playthrough is FANTASTIC) I'll definitely be dropping into your videos with the new year. I hope all your holiday travels go well, and I'm looking forward to seeing you back on the grind! 😊
love you content datto, i have noticed your stuff isnt getting pushed into my sub box even tho i dont sub to a ton of people. keep up the good work and i hope your physical ailment eases up on you or becomes more manageable. much love!
Dude I love when you post videos where you’re passionate on the game. The Balatro videos had a completely different energy to them which was super awesome to see
I've been subbed to your main channel for a LONG time and I totally get why you're feeling burnt out, especially as Destiny 2 is going through a tough time as well. But I really, really enjoy this channel for something different, I think you've done a great job. I'd never heard of Balatro before you played it, same with Slay, but I've been hooked on them ever since 😂 the card opening highlights have also been fantastic! Whilst I can't always catch your streams (I'm in the UK) having videos here to watch is perfect; same for Fruit, Cross and Jez (back in the day😅). In terms of things to try: use your community for feedback like twitter polls or RUclips polls across both channels - you have a huge audience to tap into and you can test the waters with them. Definitely don't be afraid to try new things - you did that with this channel and you can tell just by the comments how well received it's been! Finally, since you're in a Rogue like phase definitely do a collab with the king of roguelikes: Fruit! You can't play them coop of course but like you've done with the Nuzlocke, play through together and see how you both fare - that'd be hugely entertaining! Fruit has the Pokémon Nuzlockes series (I'm also LOVING that btw, every 'bingle' makes me chuckle😂) whereas you could host these roguelike equivalents. Again, thoroughly enjoying the content on here, take a break (you really need one I think) and play stuff you enjoy - we all love it regardless! 😀
I remember you talking about being unsure about your content and how well it will do a year ago, the feeling of uneasy ness is understandable and nobody can blame you for that. That’s pretty natural to life. Personally would love to see more passion projects of yours, as I think they will shine!! Love the videos and the personality you’ve added to your content over the last year or so. Truly a great day when a datto video drops, on either channel.
As a Datto enjoyer generally I’ve watched a fair amount of what has been made this year. I really enjoyed any IRL content you did either this or in the past. I’ve liked watching your roguelikes, particularly slay the spire. My thoughts when watching those styles of games is that I like when the creator either does a unique run/challenge to see how they would do it, or they get really into it and are able to play a high level of the game. The hard part with variety roguelikes especially when switching around and only making a few videos each, it’s hard to hit a skill level where you can do those types of runs and also still be chatty and entertaining.
Sounds alot like some of the struggles mr fruit had this last year as well. Hope that both the confidence and health can boost back up for you soon. In terms of content, i like seeing the variety in games covered from you more than hyper focused dives into specific games. Additionally would still love to see some kind of dnd content come from the channel if its even in the realm of consideration. Loved the streams yall did with cpt. Robear and would be happy to funnel art your way if its needed/desired as well (im the one that made fanart for yall on twitter at the time :P)
Hey datto, firstly this video is why you’re one of my favorite people in this platform, even if my interaction with you content is touch and go. But you keep it real and you tell us the viewers what’s going on and what your plans are, how it’s affecting you, your aspirations and as equally your fears. I’m not sure if this is helpful but I would agree, my favorite content of yours is when you have people to bounce off of and when you’re freed from a script, such as destiny raid content for example. I know this channel is designed to escape destiny but for example when you are in an environment with 5 other people where you have a goal but aren’t afraid to entertain and have fun. Similarly, it wasn’t mentioned in the video but stuff like code names is so much fun to watch just as a viewer and it seems you and that group thrive and have fun on those puzzle- clue like games and watching you the creators have fun makes it fun as the viewer. I can’t speak for balatro or slay the spire because honestly those games aren’t on my radar, but looking at comments it seems like the viewers enjoy it because you enjoy making it and I know money is a driving force now a days but you aren’t making bad content and it is fun to watch. You’re a solid creator and thank you for the hard work you put into your work.
Given this isn’t your main channel, I don’t think I ever expected it to get the same level of dedicated focus, but also don’t have any qualms with that; I partake in videos from both channels and simply enjoy your takes on things you engage with be it Destiny or otherwise. I’ve especially enjoyed the longer form content and am very curious what this other idea you’re cooking up pertains to! I can understand the hesitance to peruse that further with the uncertainty of ROI on a new project, especially if there are more moving parts, but would encourage you to take the plunge if you are keen on it; folks working on things they feel passionate about can help revitalize and recharge their motivation/creativity, and at the very least it could be a learning opportunity. Best case scenario, it picks up and takes off, and you’ve got another series that you can delve into with some renewed vigour! Either way, I hope things bounce quick back in regard to physical struggles; health issues can be a heavy burden and create some massive mental blockers, so be sure to look after yourself first and foremost. We’re rooting for you and I’m looking forward to whatever content you’re able to provide as time goes on!
Your Balatro and slay the spire videos convinced me to branch out into the genre and I loved it. Been watching guides since early D1 days and it’s been cool to see your gaming tastes age with mine. Look forward to seeing more of this channel!
I've been subbed to you since the main channel has had around 30k subscribers. I still watch you after all these years for you, doesn't matter what game or content you put out.
Definitely enjoy the long form “Let’s Play” content of single player games (especially good story or puzzle games) for games you have personally enjoyed, or even just VODs after the fact if streamed. Would like to see some co-op in the mix too, your Pokémon Nuzlocke with Fruit has been very entertaining mostly just since it is two friends hanging out and you being yourself. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Datto, I gotta say, you have got to be one of my favorite creators on this platform, I want to echo what others have said in that I enjoy your personality, I think you have a good banter and while I do enjoy your group videos very much, your slay the spire videos may be some of my favorite videos to watch! I think you have a good narrative when thinking out moves and buying cards from the shop, you can very much carry your own with your more solo videos. I would hope that most people know why you’ve had to take breaks. I really think you can do it though and for as long as you’re making videos I’ll be watching them!
I have really enjoyed the IRL stuff with the stunt/fire video, rappelling, etc. I do watch some of the game content but I don’t think I have missed any of your IRL videos at all! I watch for your personality so don’t let things get you down.
My favorite type of video I have seen on this channel are probably the hardest to make as they were the IRL videos. I liked seeing who dato is behind the camera. You have been my destiny 2 guide forever and to see who you are as a person was genuinely fun. I do and will support all your content and streams but the IRL stuff was really good to get to watch. Hope you feel healthy soon.
I definitely don’t think this channel sucks. I think my algorithm saw that I was moving away from Destiny 2 videos and instead started giving me other games, luckily for me that meant I started having this channel pushed onto my feed! Which was awesome, it meant I got new games, but got to enjoy one of my favorite RUclipsrs playing those games. Now for feed back, I love all of your slay the spire runs! It’s enjoyable to watch you pick things I stray away from and make them work. Your unique approach to runs makes the game that much more enjoyable to watch. I hope you continue to put out more Slay the Spire in the future!
I love roguelikes and would be so excited to see you releasing tons of videos on them. My favourite channel on RUclips is a variety channel that posts puzzle games and roguelikes, the roguelikes tend to last a really long time but the puzzle games only last a few episodes usually. I would love to see that kind of thing with your general variety content combined with longterm roguelike series :3
I can only speak for myself, but even if every single video on here isn't tailor made for my interest, I'm always happy to watch and support you doing the things that you want to do. You've been very open about the burnout that comes from your process at different times, so I'm always down to watch you play something that you're enjoying because I know it's helping you keep going. We're here to explore with you, so try to keep that in mind when trying new things seems especially daunting. Love your stuff buddy, looking forward to seeing where you keep going.
Your irl content, Codenames, golf, Mario party, are legit the best content around. As a day one Destiny player and someone who watches all of yours, jez’s and Danielle’s d2 shenanigans you just can’t compare to the laughter that a good codenames video brings
I've been surprised that I find many of your "Datto playing X game" videos just as engaging as your original content. Whether it's Suika, Baltro, Deadlock or whatever, you have a way of explaining your thought process that is engaging. I think the special sauce for your videos is you and your enthusiasm for the subject. It's why I follow this channel. I was excited to see you working on stuff you were more passionate about. In my opinion you talking about the potential for a card combo in Baltro (a game I have no intention of playing myself) is way more entertaining than a bored Raid run in Destiny (a game I've played a ton). I hope the channel stays up. Thanks.
Keep the datto who crunches the numbers, makes obscure references, and games his effin ass off, and i'll be here no matter what. Always take time for yourself though, my guy.
I will watch anything you put up. I will support whatever you want to chase and make. Explore, venture, carve the path to what ultimately will make you happy. And fair chances that seeing you happy, will also bring a joy to viewers.
For me, as someone who definitely came to this channel from your main channel, I appreciate this as your channel to have fun making content. I personally have no interest in games like Belatro or Slay the Spire. But what I usually enjoy the most from this channel are party games and stuff with Danielle. When you guys went head to head in GeoGuessr it made me spend money on GeoGuessr myself to play with friends. Codenames, Jackbox games, golf games, generally stuff with other people that is more fun oriented than shooter or combat oriented is what I enjoy over here. I like to think of the channels as DattoDoesDestiny and DattoHasFun lol. It’s a bummer to hear that getting a group together for that stuff is harder than ever, but I understand. I’ll always watch that stuff here when it comes around, as well as sometimes on Twitch when I can. That may or may not the feedback you want to hear, but it’s honest feedback! Have a great rest of your holidays!
This night be obvious but if someone is watching this channel then they like you and are interested in what you make. This is the place to try new ideas and flex creative muscles, we're the audience that wants to see you make things you're passionate about.
It’s cool seeing you try out new games that you felt like you missed because you’ve only been doing basically only Destiny for a decade so that’s what I’m wanting to see. Datto does everything he missed out on. Personally I’m not really into Slay the Spire or Balatro so once we’re up to the 5th or 6th Slay the Spire video my immediate reaction to seeing them is “okay I get it, can we move on to another game?” As for video layout in general, I prefer highlight style videos. If you play a new game I want to just see an edited down video of the experience. Content on this channel has just felt like you’re uploading stream segments and it’s not usually very enthralling.
I respect your opinion OP but just to provide a different perspective I personally do like the stream segment style videos because they have a fun hangout vibe that's good to put on while I make dinner or do something else with my hands. They're probably much easier and faster videos to produce, and the more videos the better imo.
First time chatter, long time lurker. As others have said we watch the videos for you not necessarily the game. My favorite videos are when you are playing with friends and you can hear the friendship in your voices. Drunk Datto golf is my favorite followed by Mario Kart. I watch you for you not the content. Chin up! Happy New Year.
Between constant quality of scripts over the years, occasional and genuine updates like these, and a resistance to using clickbait and negative energy (like you mentioned in a recent community update) you are the most rewarding creator to support. I’m sorry that the algorithm and general public attitude does not reflect this, and ultimately those are what you have to operate under. Best of luck moving forward!
I watch you not just for the games, but also for you. Really hope you can make variety work, because seeing you in a "non-destiny" setting is really refreshing and fun, especially with the state of the game right now.
Datto, you have a great, cleaver, and loyal, base of fans. Fans who have likely discovered you for your educational videos, commentary, and have stayed for your ability to simply be impressive and funny. im sure im not the only long time viewer here, ive seen you for every break and lull in content or break in my life, you have had such a good impact on me that ive found myself always coming back to ya! You have a really good perspective, you're real and I appreciate how humble and forthcoming you are aswell. That's the qualities of a good creator, no matter where you go man ill be watching!
I’m going to be completely honest, I had no clue you made this channel and in the back of my head I actually missed the old ttt and gmod vids from YEARS ago but now I’m happy 😊
Love you Datto, I love your vids on this channel because to me they are the games you're playing because you like playing games. I get that the main channel comes first because it's your job, and I like that this gets to be a bit more chill, relaxed, and fun. Frequency doesn't matter to me as much, whenever I see this channel on my feed it's a fun watch, and I really appreciate that.
I still pop in to the main channel, but I don’t really play Destiny anymore myself so I’ll watch your thoughts on things and pop in occasionally. So your variety content is such a blast to watch as a guy who enjoys your personality and doesn’t play your “main” game anymore.
Been a viewer on the main channel for quite a while since like d1 days. The rogue like stuff is good, didn't know you had played slay the spire or balatro until this video. Guess my algorithm didn't send them to me idk. Gonna go watch those now. I would love to see you play some more single player narrative games (cyberpunk, witcher, ff7). A BG3 run with you Daniel and jez might be the most phenomenal serious to ever be created. Regardless of what you have in store, you got this man! Just take a deep breath you're a great creator and I know you'll be just fine! We love you dude, we wouldn't be here if we didn't!
Hey Datto, been watching your content since D1 alpha. Just some words of encouragement from me - I enjoy the variety content equally as, if not more than, the Destiny content because I feel like we get to see more of your personality come out through the games you play and the way you interact with them. Not saying the Destiny content is poorly made at all - but there is an instructional/journalistic theme to your main channel, I feel, whereas here we get to see you just enjoying a game. I really appreciate both forms of content and this channel has been awesome to watch over the last year. I love to see you putting out videos on StS and Deadlock, it's fun to watch one of my favorite creators play some of my favorite games after all. I especially liked the IRL stuff! On that series you were bringing up; I hope you're able to bring it to life sometime soon. It's a blast watching you do some cool stuff in the real world, and your fire/rappelling/parkour vids were some of my faves. Hope your 2025 is better for your headspace, your physical health. At the end of the day, while I enjoy your content, I appreciate it more when content creators prioritize themselves and their well being first. All the best to you and Danielle.
Hey Datto! I like the rogulike stuff - I personally have been obsessed with Enter the Gungeon lately and have been having a blast with it (would super recommend). Hang in there and do what makes you happy!
I honestly followed you over to this channel because I was trying to escape viewing destiny content after I stopped playing earlier this year. Been amazing to see slay the spire and other games with you. Been loving the content. Hope you can feel better going into 2025! You’re a very smart guy and you’re capable of a ton!
genuinely whenever you upload something new, if my bf and i are hanging out in a discord call that day, the FIRST THING we do is watch the new hello datto together. i love both of your channels, mostly because i love your energy and your perspective! i love games i don't even enjoy PLAYING because you give the game that spark that draws me in. you (and vauda, editing champ, gotta give them their flowers too) genuinely just scratch the itch of the content i love to watch. getting groups together as an adult is like herding cats. it's hell, i get it. but really, no matter what you're playing, i'm vibing to it a LOT. maybe there's some smaller multiplayer stuff you could do - like, with one other person - that might be longer-term? like, a bg3 or a stardew valley. a good couple hour session of that with someone like danielle could be a good chunk of videos to spread out over a couple months. but that's just me trying to problem-solve bc it's how my brain works. no matter what you play, i'm having a great time here. love the content as always! content creation is volatile and hard, but i'm p sure most of us will be with you no matter what.
I have two pieces of feedback: On veiwership on repeat content especially rogue likes, from a casual perspective it suffers from feeling like watching the exact same video again. If you're concerned about it holding retention I would suggest breaking the videos up into themes or add some form of micro variety to each upload if you're able. On viewership as a whole and feeling like you're not providing as good of content as you can, in variety the single biggest piece of advice ever given is just follow your passion. I think you're a little too caught up on "oh this game might not do great viewership wise" or "what game will hold attention long-term" you're doing variety, you're not trying to sell any individual game you're selling YOU. That's why deadlock had a shocking amount of staying power, you were passionate about it and you could feel the enjoyment. An easier way to put it in case I fucked up communicating my point is less "datto does THINGS" and more "DATTO does things" mentality. Am sorry to hear you're not doing great in general, keep doing what you need to and hope it picks up for sooner rather than later
I’ve been loving seeing the slay the spire runs and Balatro as well, I would not have heard or tried those games without seeing you play them. This channel is a W
I don't often comment on any videos. But if I had to say anything (Feedback/Ideas) I really like it when you just talk to the camera, I feel like if I could sit and listen to a podcast of you just chatting. I always enjoy the content you make whenever your expressing your opinions & ideas on a topic! :3
Just to add my voice to the general sentiment here, I come to this channel for more of you and your personality, less about the content specifically. I enjoy your candor and commentary, no matter what game or project it is. When I see a new video in the feed I always look forward to sitting down and watching it. With that said, I do love the Balatro and Slay the Spire content a ton, always a delight to see those videos come up specifically.
Love balatro I always come back for that. Plus the irl stuff is great as well. I've also really enjoyed videos about ur collections be it sneakers or Pokemon cards but I can understand they can't form the backbone of content here. Hope you have a happy new year :)
I am loving the roguelikes. And I think even as a side channel you are doing a good job uploading and keeping the audience happy with your amazing characteristics
Sorry to hear about all the setbacks. I know making videos is one of those "line go up" jobs at the end of the day, but I hope you're able to find some balance between creatively fulfilling and consistent engagement. I know I stick around your stuff because it has a high level of "hang-out-itude", so I'll put something on even if I'm not turbo into it and just let it play while I do something else. I personally love watching rogue-like content because it's so fun seeing the progression of the player (your Spire stuff is a great example of this). Balatro I'm less into just because the texture of the game doesn't really grab me. I kinda got the vibe that this channel was still about experimentation, and I think that's probably the way to keep going with it. I fully empathize with not wanting to try new things, though. It was drilled into me as a kid that trying something you don't follow through on is wasteful, and I feel like that is stifling if you only take into account the monetary investment. If nothing else, this is the time of year when you can reevaluate and decide how you want to spend your energy moving forward. You never really know what's gonna pay off.
Oh, forgot to mention this in my other comment but fuck it, algorithm boosting is fun anyways. But I STILL remember your monster hunter videos from WAY back when. And still use your plalico gadget guide to help new players have a visual when they want to unlock them. I would ABSOLUTELY be interested in watching you play wilds/make content for wilds, whether that be educational or just for fun. I dunno if that is still in your wheelhouse at all, I know you didn't make any icebourne content, didn't really come back to the game, but I did just wanna show support for that kind of content and, hopefully, put that game, and genre, back on your radar.
That would be really cool for wilds ya. Wep guides, Hunting guids, etc. There quite a bit of that all out there already but it would be a fresh game lots of new people gonna be playing wilds.
Don't burn yourself out Datto! Genuinely, I still really enjoy the content you put out on this channel, even if you feel like it's lazy, just getting to see more of your personality actually come out while you're playing whatever game is suiting your interests is so much fun to watch. I hope you're able to work through everything you've got on your plate, always looking forward to seeing what you're cooking or some juicy runs. OH, side suggestion: Lean MORE into the roguelike thing. I would love to see you try a wide variety of roguelikes and just see what they're about and if they seem interesting (suggestion also, Roboquest is a fantastic fps roguelike). There are so many roguelikes out there, that seeing maybe some more that aren't as huge would honestly be neat to me.
Being honest, I usually put a video of yours on for background noise. I enjoy hearing you talk about random things as you’ve got the voice for it. I think slay the spire is difficult to watch with no visual as there’s usually a lot going on that you can’t figure out unless you see it. Maybe a more relaxed game where a visual isn’t necessary, think Minecraft survival or something else that’s casual. I’ll be here through it all Datto! Keep it up
Hey Datto, as someone who wanted/advocated for this channel but hasn't engaged as much as I'd hoped, I realized I liked and got into your content in the first place because of how critical and in depth you were on topics that interested you. Even in the later stages of Destiny 2's life when I had long quit the game, I still enjoyed watching your analysis videos on things that I didn't need to know or care about because your approach and style into that type of content for me is second to none and really an itch I can only scratch by watching other video essays or SkillUp reviews etc. On the topic of reviews I really enjoyed your Suicide Squad video and would love to see more critiques and analysis on things that aren't just Destiny. Not that I dislike your more lighthearted comedy gaming style videos but personally that's not really what I'm looking for when I choose to watch a Datto video. Much love and keep it up man
Feedback: I want to play slay the spire before I watch your videos so that I know what’s going on. So it’s hard to get into a new one without knowing mechanics. I am interested in new stuff! I want to see that irl idea. Where’s the monopoly go video also? I think you should stop beating yourself up about everything and just do what you do best - make cool content YOU want to make. Also if you like roguelikes I’d be interested in you trying a new roguelike game!
the monopoly go video was something i was working on before i had to shift gears to the main channel. then i took a break in august, then deadlock was september, then main channel was october, then november was a lot of traveling... it just got lost in the rest of the stuff i was doing. if i am to revisit it, it probably needs a good amount of updating and i'm still not really sure how to conclude it.
I loved your IRL stuff, same with you on the Jez videos, I just enjoy your humor and stuff so I would be engaged with some IRL stuff for sure! Other than that, just dont be feared to dump some videos on the channel to try something out I'd say. Say you try out a game on stream, bring it here and look out for the resonance (maybe thats naive but of me idk). Also if you wana escape the Destiny bubble/stigma you could try to collab with some creators from other bubbles (dont ask me how that would look like but I feel like that would be a good step). Keep it up man!
i'll be reading everything posted here over the next week while i'm still in and out of the house, thanks to everyone for the responses. was not expecting this level of activity. have a great new year
This channel most definitely DOES NOT suck. It's great. Sure, it might have slowed down, but I'd guess that's normal, and focusing on variety might be hard to attract a dedicated public. But it's still great. You have a great personality and your videos are awesome. Keep up the good work.
100% agreed.
Agreed !
def gotta agree i love watching this channels vids
the wife and i love sitting down and watching a few at a time
Totally agreed!
No no datto doesn't do anything for anyone. Channel sucks. A D2 librarian. But tbh working with destiny is no easy task either.
ya man the ups and downs of videos are always a tricky thing.
MarcoMeatball in the comments of a datto video?! I knew you played destiny but I wasn't ready for these worlds to collide
Marco also following Datto is awesome. Glad to see the positivity here! Wishing success for you both!
Not the person I was expecting to see in the comments of Datto's variety channel lol but good motivational words!
Marco GOATball
oh wow, it's you! that's so cool!
I miss the golf videos. Those are some of my favorites for your variety. Ik it headbutts with what you said, it being more difficult to get the groups together. But damn if it wasn’t a wholesome good time
those and TTT were priceless, but i can understand the infrequent uploads, only so much to do in those
Ya the golf videos were always one of my favorite.
Same. Golf games on this channel are the best videos.
i love golf games as well, i really wanna get them back on the channel. part of the fun is the chaos though and there's not as much chaos when there's only 3-4 people playing. maybe i'll bring back some edits/highlights of mario golf vs the full gameplays.
Buddy, we are interested because you’re interesting and interested in it. Make whatever content you want to make, we’re here for it.
I'm not saying you're lying, you're most likely being genuine, but the majority of people care way more about the content rather than the creator and this video is proof of that
Speak for yourself.
Yeah same, love seeing him play them
Wait when the hell did he play Slay the Princess?! I just scrolled through all the videos and didn't even see it
@@bunnyboulder Slay the spire. You read it wrong.
@shadowgattler i am dumb indeed
Same here, I'm very much learning the game alongside too.
But it's fun.
Good to chill and learn stuff I didn't know was possible.
He just has a cool personality i suppose and he'll always have a well based opinion or even just the base quality of the video is pretty good
Ditto, we love Datto
I would like to agree with everything lilith said. I really enjoy Datto for Datto. I may not enjoy Destiny anymore, but I'm happy to watch him play whatever or do whatever so long as he's enjoying it :)
Same, exactly.
datto i didnt even notice the scattered upload schedule
Hey man, I know I can’t speak for everyone at all, but I’ve been loving your content here even more than the destiny stuff. Your slay the spire and balatro content goes crazy, and watching you play deadlock was great too! Destiny content has been not as interesting since the game is kinda stagnant in general, I just don’t play anymore. I still watch your stuff, but I’m EXCITED when I see you post over here. Keep it up man, looking forward to whatever you put out ❤ also your irl stuff was great, the interview went crazy
Agreed
I also really enjoy the slay the spire, balatro and ballionaire videos
Honestly, I've been enjoying the recent Codenames stuff. It's always fun seeing how differently you and your friends think.
Much love to ya brother!
hey datto i have enjoyed seeing you enjoy other games and playing with other people it's fun seeing the other interest of the 'destiny' guy
Anyway, that's the opinion of one guy, I honestly hope everything goes well, I wish you well, and hey man, I'll be here next year too.
what a long and heartfelt comment; I agree completely 🙂↕️
Worded it so well. His best content isn’t based on the game, but he himself.
@@HelloDatto certified Bruh moment. Sometimes a Datto video is not walk to work material, its sit down to watch while eating or farming video ;-;
Thanks for the info, probably gonna start using the subscription pages more often
Absolutely love your Balatro content, I hope you post more highlight runs from your streams!
Hear me out... Datto does The Binding of Isaac all the way to dead god
I'd watch that lol
I'd be down to watch that
seeing datto pog out from getting a Tech X basement 1 would be peak content.
Holy shit, what a nostalgic name to see in the comments!! Haven't thought of him since he was in Achievement Hunter 😵❗️That'd be a very fun collab
@ChampionOfRaven I love Roy from Challenge Finders man
On a serious note he loves hanging out with other content creators and playing party games
yeah, ray and i have a small history, he actually hosted me a little while ago after a while of neither of us chatting with each other. maybe i'll reach out.
I like this channel because its just more of your personality. I like to watch your destiny videos even if im not playing d2 at the moment. So as long as there’s consistent uploads here i’ll always be watching.
I'm usually not that active on this channel, but if you would upload Risk of Rain content i would inhale it
I don’t know if anything noticed will help, nor do I know whether or not you’ve talked to them about it…
But I do know that, in my very limited experience, it seems like those closest to me can observe me far greater than I could ever imagine to do so myself!
Just tell yourself i am doing this.
very true
Man if this is the channel at its worse then I really don't mind it. It's just as good as any other secondary channel more leaned into variety.
I like the consistency with rouge lites and indie games. I would also just watch you yap and play balatro.
In terms of variety content that *I* would like to see, if you feel like you could make any content on your sneaker collection, or possibly any opinions you may have on upcoming releases/grails/etc, I would eat that stuff up. You have this really nice collection in the background, but i never hear you talk about it on video. I know it's super niche, but i know it's something you have knowledge/passion about.
it is indeed very niche, which is why i tend to not discuss it too much, although i'm always happy to chat during my streams about it.
TLDR:
-Gaming needs better pacing either in editing or live.
-Bigger projects while are riskier have more potential and have more learning.
-The channel has more growth potential than the Destiny one therefore might need to be reconsidered as the "main channel" with more effort here
-You want out of the Destiny bubble? Sajam might have the solution (read this section if nothing else).
-i want pokemon male named Artiglio
No worries about having the dry spells, man. I know I personally go through dry productive spells, and I don't even have to do that for my job.
I definitely enjoy the content you've been putting out, but I also agree that group content is more exciting. Not to say watching you play Slay the Spire by yourself isn't good! Definitely good content, but it's just my preference for my RUclips consumption to be watching 2+ people on a video. (Your Mr. Fruit Pokémon playthrough is FANTASTIC)
I'll definitely be dropping into your videos with the new year.
I hope all your holiday travels go well, and I'm looking forward to seeing you back on the grind! 😊
love you content datto, i have noticed your stuff isnt getting pushed into my sub box even tho i dont sub to a ton of people. keep up the good work and i hope your physical ailment eases up on you or becomes more manageable. much love!
Turned on notifications. Admittedly, I subbed when you launched this and then haven’t seen a single video in my feed, apart from the interview video
A Datto that's expressing/exploring his passions is one of my favorite things. Best of luck trying to find the opportunities to put that foot forward.
If you were able to get a group together, a cut up play through of Baldurs Gate 3 could be hilarious and fun to watch.
This channel is great! We are here for YOU man! Can't wait for more content! Take as much time as you need to make it :)
I was really here for the deadlock content. Since I don’t have a PC, yet, it was nice getting my fill/hype for that game through you
I will watch anything you put up.
Personally I’m not really into Slay the Spire or Balatro so once we’re up to the 5th or 6th Slay the Spire video my immediate reaction to seeing them is “okay I get it, can we move on to another game?”
As for video layout in general, I prefer highlight style videos.
I have two pieces of feedback:
On veiwership on repeat content especially rogue likes, from a casual perspective it suffers from feeling like watching the exact same video again.
5:30 dude, your StS videos are some of my favorite videos on this channel!
Feedback: I really hope you can keep making them!
5:22 that surprises me, I binged your Lethal Company vids when I discovered this channel.
Love balatro I always come back for that. Plus the irl stuff is great as well. I've also really enjoyed videos about ur collections be it sneakers or Pokemon cards but I can understand they can't form the backbone of content here. Hope you have a happy new year :)
Genuinely enjoying watching you get into roguelikes, and would love to see more of those!
