I imagine this process is not recommend because it might degrade the rubber? Because this is exactly what I want to try. I don’t want to have to swap out the awesome looking “model” tires for unrealistic silicone or whatever. Is this process really that bad? I definitely need some solution however. Plastic track way to slippery for no-magnet racing.
@@sheldonnorton9035 The lighter fluid will cause the tires to dry out and crack over time. I suggest truing the tires then apply a super light coat of WD40, let it sit for a minute then wipe it off.
I’m Italian can you explain better what is the 3-1 oil? Thanks in advance.
It worked great. Thank you for the lowered lap time.
that 3 in 1 oil is great for cleaning your car brakes too!

Will model paint thinner work in place of the lighter fluid?
What do you mean by “cloth tape”? 😊
will any oil work?
Don't do this.
Hi Chuck. What is the risk? I don’t want to replace the replica tires but want more grip.

@@toolshedjunky Amazing! Thanks for the lighting fast response to your 5 yr old reply! 😁
I've been doing the oil and lighter fluid.for years and never have had an issue . But hey to each their own.
Also if you are talking about Carrera tires only...they do that with out even using them Carrera tires are trash.
Or just buy some new tyres and put some oil on the other cars tyres win win
