I’ve got the same LG ice maker and it is working intermittently. I watched your video and followed your steps. That clear casing where the water comes out was completely frosted over to where you couldn’t see through it. I took a blow dryer and thawed it all out. Fingers crossed I don’t have anymore stoppages in ice production.
LG, Kenmore Elite have the same problems. Appliance repair man told me to keep freezer temperature at 6 to 8 degrees F. (Several tips here) Turn off water supply going in. At the bottom of the freezer door is a blue hose, disconnect it, pushing down on the grey connector where the hose goes in and pull on the hose. Put a towel down before disconnecting, 2 or 3 ounces will come out IF you are getting water. A little hard to do but, blow on the hose if you get air thru, line is NOT frozen. IF you have been getting water for drinking unit solenoids are working properly. IF not, the solenoid valve(s) may be bad. Part #AJU34125555. These are very easy to change out. NEXT.. if you have done the procedures in the film and it still doesn't work it is more than likely the ice making unit. I'm on my third! This is a MAJOR problem with these refrigerators. You'll have to replace it, easy to do! The problem unit is # AEQ73209904. The replacement part is AEQ73130002 Don't buy a used unit or the old part number!! Not sure but, I think the heater to warm the ice cube tray to start the dumping process quits working. I'll try and check back here time to time if you have any questions. UPDATE!! I ended up buying part from Sears Parts. It is the correct part. The one purchased off of Amazon, the electrical part is different. Ran across this today 2/12/24 ruclips.net/video/LXaNjkfbr6o/видео.html Edgewater Parts on Amazon may also have the part you need.
Thank you for this video, I followed these steps a few times and it worked but only seemed to 'last' for a couple of weeks. Last time I tried it, I also took a blow dryer to the water dispenser valve to really thaw it all out (until the thawed water dripped until all out) and it has seemed to be a longer fix so try that along with all the steps in this very helpful video!
My ice maker quit making ice 2day (4th of July 2023). I found this video, did everything he did, and now the water is running again in the ice maker. Now to wait and see if I finally have ice again.
I liked the video, it was very good, I have the same refrigerator and it happens to me that I don't get ice, the lever doesn't lift, it stays down, do I have to buy the new ice machine or can it be fixed? I await your response, thank you
I found your video yesterday because the same thing is happening with my refrigerator, I followed the steps you did and it still doesn't make ice, and I wanted to ask you if it worked for you, or if not, what did you do to solve it?
Might have a different problem as I do. I took it a step further. I opened the freezer door and disconnected the water line and blew into it to make sure no ice. None! i'm assuming it might be the unit itself, not heating some-what to dump the ice. (my water line is at the bottom of door and has a blue line for the ice maker. Make sure to turn off water supply BEFORE doing this.) Next step, buy another unit, I'm on my third one now, ( X $100+) fridge is 5 years old. I did pour a small amount of water in ice tray & it wouldn't dump.
I have a similar problem. How exactly did you clean up the crud? Any tips on what you can use to stick in the hose to try to clear up whatever might be in there?
How long after reset should I know if it’s working? I didn’t see any water leaking from the little spout but I do have ice in my tray and the arm was moving after reset like yours did.
2:54 so we have this problem and did exactly what you did and it filled once with water and then stopped again. So it's frustrating and we think maybe it's freezing up somewhere else in the waterline
Folks can not get water to freeze in my ice make, could I have a level sensor bad and if so how do I check it. Have reset it several times and have install new water filter.
Hi dumb old dad I have a question my refrigerator ice maker didn’t work for a long time and one day it started working for few days and it stop and I did the reset thing but my refrigerator ice maker didn’t respond to the reset and I has in the past saying it needs a filter change but my refrigerator runs on water cleaning system with its own filters is the ice maker computerized has a different brain than regular old ice makers
@@dumbolddad I appreciate you replying. I was able to fix it. Well...not exactly. I had to replace it. The reset button was actually working, but the ice was frozen to the side so much that the eject arm wouldn't move the ice. From what I understand, the ice tray has a heating element that releases the ice from the container so the arm can eject it.
Wow. Great vid. Mine had ice sitting in there too. Water spout was clear. Held reset button and Shazam! It works again. A label on the reset button would’ve been nice.
There's no way i would have thought that pin hole was a functional reset button, i was searching for so long, thank you!
Thanks for watching.
This was so helpful! Thank you. I had no idea where to beg in😂😂😂😂

I just solved this same problem thanks to your video! I was just about to give up and schedule repair service, so thanks for saving me some $$!

Yes, our ice maker started working.

Do you have a video of how to fix the feeler arm or put one on it
Sorry, I don't.
In mine, that arm or lever stays still and doesn't lift, could it be that there is a fix or it's time to change the ice equipment
I have a similar problem. How exactly did you clean up the crud? Any tips on what you can use to stick in the hose to try to clear up whatever might be in there?
I just used some household cleaner.
Worked!!! Thankyou!😁I subscibed
Thanks so much.
Did that nozzle freeze up again?
Worked!!! Thanks

Mine went around 3 or 4 times before the water finally came out.

Wish you would have included how you cleaned off the goop
That water spout that you cleaned keeps freezing on me. It's got a slow leak and it turns into an icicle. Any way to prevent that?
That's what keeps happening to ours

What’s wrong when it keeps freezing up?
Appliance repair man told me to keep freezer temperature at 6 to 7 degrees F.

When I press the reset button, nothing happens. I can feel ice in there, but it doesn’t eject. 😢

Same here. Pretty annoying
These ice makers are a pain. Replaced ours twice in over a month. Two days since last replacement and it has only made half the bin
