This video show how to adjust tappets or valve clearance of CG125 Honda, also it is ideal to do valve clearance on cold engine.. also if you remove spark plug it will be much easier to rotate the magnet easily..
One thing I think is very important that you forgot to mention... you need to adjust the valves "on stroke".
Get the Intake Timing T | aligned: Adjust the Intake Valve. >>> Rotate Magneto
Get the Exahust Tiing T | aligned: Adjust the Exahust Valve. >>> Ready to run
I think this is one of the most important steps that are missing in ALL youtube videos out there.
If you adjust the Intake and Exahust on the same stroke you're in for trouble as you'll mess up all timings.
Did it on my bike, now it chokes a lot, I can only fix it on the weekend and hopefuly It won't die on me as I need to make extra 300 Kms this week...

Ignore him.. adjustment of tappets never effects "timing of a motorcycle" thats the job for CAM..

Very helpful. did mine today and now it doesn't cut out any more. Btw, just fyi, it is called the magneto.
+Ardent Fan cut out means that engine shuts off on idle..

hi the random biker thanks for the video you properly gonna save me a trip to the mechanic, hi all, i need to adjust my valves after a ticking noise appeared suddenly, does anyone know if the nut is an h8 or h10..(or h9) i just want to get the proper tool for the job but would rather get the right one straight away than you for your help cheers

Exhaust should be more gap than inlet.

Mr. Ali I made a 0.12mm exhaust but if it makes a lot of noise, if it falls off the traction, if it vibrates, you make it 0.08mm..

Might wanna check your gasket cover seal.
And make sure your not on exhaust stroke 360 degrees.
U can also turn the fly wheel in gear on bikes with no kick saves taking the box cover off

The Random Biker I have 2007 model and I have chenged its ring piston,piston etc and the tappet makes noise even if it is tightened and it's RPM is decresed to 8000-9000 from 10,000 but yeah runs as good as it was. So what is the problem
+Daud Xee tappets are over tight.. if tappets are over tightned they also make noise and rpms get limited and also rpms drops slowly when you rev it..

Sir you should make it tighter.. you may be losing it too much..

how come both intake and exhaust valve have same clearance ? shouldn't the exhaust valve clearance would be more ?
In this specific model both clearances are recommended same by manufacturers.. but you are right i experimented with them and intake 0.08mm and exhaust 0.10mm performs better and soundd better..

The Random Biker not dual cilinder. I have cg250 and only 1 cilinder
Same engine but cg200 has a longer con rod,big valves & bore if compare to cg125
Obviously it has its differences but mechanisms are the same..
I adjusted my vavles now i have loud tapping/knocking which wasnt there befor

+Raja Awais no sir it doesn't.. but note guage should not move freely after setting clearence try to insert thicker guage if thicker guage can get in there then you have done it wrong..

The Random Biker everything is replaced with new parts bcz I got my engine renewed and altered maybe it is bcz of thick oil I use 20-50w

My cg125 honda is 2004 model.driven only 24000km.till 50 speed sounds perfect but as above 50 a sound of ghmmmmmm starts coming out of engine.please tell me whats the reason.mechanic changes clutch plates still not solved.hope you help me

Meray pass honda cg 125 2017 model hai first oil change maine 250 pe karwaya tha aur havoilne 20-50 dalwaya tha... Abhi bike 500 km he hui hai aur 10-15 min chalanay ke baad he bike band hp jati hai khud ba khud mai mechanic ke pass lekar gya tow us ustad ne kaha tapets bohat tyt thay usnay tapets loose kiye and then maine test le phir bhi bike baar baar band ho rahi thi.... Then usne carb khol kar petrol se clean kiya aur NGK ka iridium plug lagaya magar ussay bhi koi farak nhi para magar mujhe bike ke performance mai wazeh farak laga us ke baad bike kafi halki ho gaye... App log zara mashwara dein ke yeh problem kyun paish aye... Aur mera ustad khari bike mai accelerator de rha tha woh aisa kyun kar raha tha??
And mai apni bike ke bohat care karta hun shell ka vpower + normal petrol mix dalwata hun and ajj tak kabhi apni bike mai max 60 se upar nhi lekar gya.. App log mujhe batayen ke running kaise karni chehye bike ke plz thora guide karin im a new biker.
