You're a better Velma than Mindy Kaling could ever be. This show is absolute garbage, and it makes be even more upset that Warner Bros. has been pulling the plug on so many other shows that looked much better and had much better concepts.

He’s a real humorous (his laugh is infectious), strong minded, and humble guy. Although full disclosure ✋🏾🤚🏾, he’s 7/10 down bad. But his other qualities overshadow that.
Shaggy's name is Norville. But it actually always has been. I have a meme from 2017 (probably older) that is a lot of "Did you know's" and it says his name was always canonically Norville Rogers.

This iteration of Velma is so unlikable, and the show wants to feel sorry for her? Nope.... unlikable is still unlikable, I honestly want the antagonist to win like how it happens in scary movies.
Churches are seeing record high attendance by telling people "If you do not go to church you WILL go to hell where they will make you watch 'Velma' on repeat for all eternity!"
One thing that I find annoying about the people that unironically defend shows like this is when they say that it isn't the worst show. Meanwhile, I'm off in the sidelines mentality screaming, "Do you have ANY idea how low a bar that is!?"
The one. ONE. Redeeming factor about Velma. Is the animation.
Whoever animated Velma's hallucinations didn't have to go that hard. But they did. And they're probably the sole reason why anyone can even bother to watch the show in the first place.
I decided it was ass when I heard they removed Scooby-Doo and straight erased everything that made Shaggy the greatest. Also, once had a thing for the smart and classy Velma. This version, not so much.
The creators of this show put in what makes shows like Rick and Morty, Family Guy and South Park do. But they don't understand why those shows work. I'm not even going to give the animation props, because there are much better designs and back grounds out there.
That said, love your cosplay Panda.

This show was beyond ass....it was just another Mindy Kaling self-insert series. The only reason this pile of crap got a 2nd season is because the first season was split into 2 parts from what I heard.
I tried to watch Nux watch a few episodes. Got to him watching episode 3, and I had to bail to protect my sanity. I don't know if I came out unscathed...
But in all seriousness, Velma (the show) is probably the single most mean-spirited thing I have ever witnessed. What's sad is, there was potential, but they thoroughly wasted it.

The live action Airbender/ Kim Possible movie was so bad for me that I turned the tv off and bother finish watching them.

They announced Season 2 was greenlit before Season 1 even aired. They usually purchase 20 episodes up front and then they split them into 2 seasons.
Shaggy's real name has been Norville Rogers since A Pup Named Scooby Doo in the 80's. It was never mentioned on the OG show. He was just Shaggy back then.
It's bad!! I've watched several people react to all 10 episodes and watched their will to live or their sanity slowly slip away.
They really did Fred dirty in the show and made him the butt of every bad joke stereotype you can think of. Mostly concentrating on him being so rich and spoiled that he can't do anything for himself, him not going through puberty yet, his tiny weiner and he's a brainless idiot.

I personally don't think the show is terrible, my only gripe is the over-reliance of meta humour in the first 2 episodes. But so far Velma has my favourite iteration of Fred (unpopular opinion). Norville and Fred are definitely the standouts of the show and after the last episode I'm looking forward to a second season.

Actually, it kinda does sound like Stockholm Syndrome. He’s saying that people knows that this show is horrible, but when they continue to watch it, their brain starts to say “The show is not that bad,” people were starting to think that it’s not that bad, when it is, in fact, way beyond bad; it is the worse show ever to exist. People are tricking themselves thinking that the show is not that bad, but it is. I think that’s what he meant by Stockholm Syndrome, in my opinion.

About the Last Airbender movie. Just watch the *only* part.....the trailer 🤣
White Conservative arsehole here, but I watched Season One because the show could have been good. Some basic changes would have made it awesome, even keeping the political leanings that I think they were trying to push.
Norville is Shaggy's real first name, and canonically he's usually portrayed as the richest character. So lets make him the rich white guy who skates through life. One thing that you might remember is that he has ancestors who fought for the Confederacy. He's old money. He should have been in Fred's place. We'll have him as the oldest member of the group, truly off at University while Daphne and Velma are at the Junior College, and Fred is a Senior, though he's not much younger than the others.
While away at college, Norville did become a smoker. Meats. His parent's are Vegan. He's sneaking around behind their back having been exposed to the culinary treats he'd been denied growing up.
Fred, we're going to race swap him, and his family is convinced that the only way a black man can make it into college is through Football. Fred is something of a nerd, though. He met Velma in Chess Club, which his father didn't know he was involved in. Like in their framing of it, his dad is concerned that he isn't man enough. Remember, Season One is about the intergenerational relationships so we're building that out. Norville is going Carnivore and trying to skate by, Fred is being pushed upon by the internalized racism of his parents, Velma's mother is missing, and Daphne was abandoned as an infant.
They all will have to band together in order to overcome their family drama. Things resolve with them opening Mystery Inc, and "Shaggy's Smokehouse" - the food truck that the mystery machine pulls. Norville's parents will be blissfully unaware that he isn't selling mary jane out of it. Fred will be accepted into the same university that Norville is going to, not for his skill on the football team but for his game analysis. Once he started watching football games with a tactical mind, it clicked - bringing him and his father together. Just imagine the scene Fred goes into the locker room to address the football team - "Alright, Gang."
They find Diya; and Daphne realizes that between her chosen family, and the family that chose her, she doesn't need her biological parents.
SCOBI isn't a thing in this series. The overarching "villain" is Norville's father, the man who doesn't want to see his family lose everything but is overburdened with white guilt. He's overtly racist in the "White Man's Burdan" sort of way and he wants to do what he see's as the "right thing". For example he'll hire someone to break into the city records so he can trace the lineages of any former slaves owned by his family. Not to give them his own money, mind you, but to get the city to.
In the end, what ultimately gets him caught, is that he's trying to get ownership of Fred Jones' house, which is on land that used to be his family's plantation, so he can build a museum honoring his wife's family, who fought for the Union. Just kinda... hide his lineage. And he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for these meddling kids.

Lets be honest. That show probably got green-lit for two seasons from the jump. That or they just had a normal season approved and cut the episode count in half to do two "seasons".

9:35 I've been saying that for a while. I understand the need for representation, but give us our own characters. When it's a race swap, to me, it feels like a cop out. We already know about Superman. "Make him black." Oh, we're that easy to please? Like using race/sex/orientation as a gimmick than something to take seriously. If a race swa has to happen, just be somebody that looks like the character. I didn't like Welcome to Racoon City, but Hannah John-Kamen, half Nigerian black, looked a bit like Jill Valentine (minus the hair style).
Another example is telling stories based on other cultures. I don't need a black Zeus any more than a Scottish Egyptian god, both of which were done. I still want to see what another culture's mythology would look like from that culture's eyes, and Hollywood doesn't do that. Usually treats other cultures as moldable playgrounds to fuck with. It kinda sucks. I don't need black Robin Hood, but maybe a movie or series about Mensa Musa or one of the African warrior queens like Amina of Zaria. Wakanda Forever was the only movie to touch both African and Mesoamerican cultures with a sci-fantasy feel, and I liked the movie.
Love cosplay but I feel bad for Aaron I bet he was so happy it finally ended I would too if I had to suffer six long and terrible episode of this dooky of a show 😂💩
