I really appreciated your video. I bought a #25 that probably spent the last 30 years at the bottom of a lake. But the interesting thing is it's 95% there. I am missing the little "star/spacer" wheel and the seed gate was missing. Although the shaft it rides on and pieces of the spring were still there so I'm thinking it rusted away. But I can make these parts to get it working again. But the kicker for me was you gave a fairly decent picture of the star wheel working and the little lever it lifts that attaches to the see gate was actually still with the machine. Again thank you for your video and now I have a good idea what I need to build.
2023-08-05 Got a number 4 as a present today from a farmer and his wife. Same as the second number 4 with the two front wheel mounts. Greetings from Pretoria, South Africa.
I just bought one off Facebook and didn't know which one it was, after watching your video I believe it's the 300a, and is in really good shape (seems to only be missing the lever handle for the on/off) so now I'm even more excited about it.
What prevents seed from just constantly falling out with the seed plate mechanism? It doesn't seem like it would be very price (we dont have these style seeders here)
I picked up a Planet Jr #5 the other day. 16.5" front wheel. I still need to clean it up but it seems functional. Anything especially interesting about this model? When manufactured, etc.? Thanks!
How about a breakdown of the 300a? For those of us who haven't had the opportunity to see one in person, it would be great to see how the dosing mechanism works, how the seed plate is adjusted to the seed, etc.
I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I've got a complete 300a, for some reason it just has a packer wheel off of a 300. I'll try to make a video like you are suggesting sometime.

I have a 300a planet Jr platter I would like to know where I can get parts for them I lost the keeper of the seed box. Thank you.
Search eBay or call Sutton Ag in California
I ask you, what do you think is/was the best seeder for garden seeding of all the Planet Jr seeders. Thank you
is there another model besides these 4?
I have what I believe to be a planet jr but mine looks a bit different in design
looking for handles for seeder, any ideas on parts to purchase from USA,wally
Thanks for the comparison. By any chance does someone know how to remove the drive shaft from the planet junior 300 hopper.
Remove the pin that holds the auger in place. Then pull the shaft out. Be careful I've broken hoppers as sometimes they get stuck
Yo tengo uno original, lo uso como arado, le falta la sembradora me gustaría anexarle ese implemento. ¿Como hago para conseguirlo?
do you have a complete 300a for sale
Do you have a seeder for sale
Does the no4 require seed disc?
No it takes seed spading stars but can be used as a drill without them
@@rustysgardeningformarket8002 Thanks. Looks like I need to learn a little bit more about seeders. I have no idea what spading stars are. Googling now
@@dustincmills sorry. Type
Spacing stars.
They drop a small pile of seed every so often. I show how they work in the video
Thanks, Rusty
How accurate is the seed spacing with the 300a?
Excellent, but when you stop, make sure you pull the seed cutoff lever.
