Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker in a big way, but I think they can take it further. In this video, I talk about how they could go about putting the actor in the Venom universe.

Spider-Man
No
Yes! Andrew Garfield is amazing
Honestly, I would love to see him go to an alternate reality and interact with spider Gwen and them take down Norman Osborn or something
Marvel and Sony should never ever bring Toby or Andrew back. Their stories are done,
Considering the direction the Sonyverse is going now I genuinely think it's best for him not to return if it means putting him there. He might come back for something like MCU Secret Wars but Garfield doesn't strike me as someone who'd put up with the writing quality of something like Morbius or Venom
I heard a rumor saying Sony approached him to play Spider-Man in their Spider-Manless Cinematic Universe and he declined and Sony were looking to cast Lucas Till if Garfield declined.
He put up with the shit writing in the amazing Spider-Man series
@@Jonathan_Lawyer He was ten years younger and not nearly as famous (or experienced) as he is now. Now he can better tell if it's likely to be crap and he doesn't need to take a crap offer if he doesn't want to.
#LordMiller4TASM
Well Garfield had a good bargaining chip then.
I’d love to see him return, but if Morbius & Venom are anything to go by, I think it might be best if it didn’t happen and just imagine the masterpiece it would have been rather than watch the disaster that it probably would be.
Yeah, I'd rather have the final appearance of his version of the character in a pretty good movie like No Way Home than in a shitty movie like Venom 3 or Morbius 2 or whatever.
They could hire a better director and writers.
@@John-Doe-Yo
1) It's Sony, so that's very unlikely to happen.
2) Even if they did, it wouldn't matter because Avi Arad would sideline whoever they got anyway.
Morbius is best movie ever
Silence wench. Morbius is more than a movie. It's a morbie.
If Sony brings back Garfield in ASM3 or whatever, I 100% unironically want them to do the Clone Saga. It's a batshit storyline that the MCU will absolutely never touch, but it's an interesting thing to do with an established version of the character, like how he's presented in No Way Home. And Andrew Garfield totally has the acting chops to play Peter Parker and Ben Reilly and make them feel like distinct characters. Also, if they try to pull of Kraven's Last Hunt and it comes out like Morbius or ASM2, that's gonna be devastating. If it follows the regular Sony trend and sucks, who cares, it was just the Clone Saga.
EDIT: IIRC, the first part of that storyline also has a clone of Gwen Stacy being created, which is a plot point that really only works with Garfield's Spiderman
you sure about that? I can totally see a version of the Clone Saga where the Jackal creates all this diverse POC Spider-Mans xD
@@Yarblocosifilitico Jackal: Spiderman, I introduce to you... THE SPIDERMAN WITH AN N-WORD PASS

The web slinging was so good in the Andrew Garfield films.
So many frames felt straight out of the comics.
I mean, if you've never read the comics then I suppose that's true.
I don't want him coming back if Sony is just going to mess him up again, despite Andrew's charm, his Peter and Spiderman was all over the place, NWH gave that balance of what 2 movies was trying to do, a part of me doesn't want him to return cuz the possibility he'll be messed up....but the other part kinda does want more
He's shy of 40 and time is running out, if a great script is there and great director is present, then let's go, otherwise leave it at NWH
They need to semi reboot him.
Not erase his past lore, but have Peter start anew with his redeemed self in place.
@@spider-man500 yes exactly
Age doesn't really matter in the era legacy sequels. They could have an aging Spider-Man story set 20 years after tasm2 at any point in time
Have the movie be directed by marvel studios but have movie be in the same universe. Then they can introduce characters like Miles but not kill if Peter but have them coexist. Have Sony work out web shooting scenes and the Rights of the project.
Then they can introduce characters like kravin the hunter and Carnage
Rdj was 43 during Iron Man 1...
Honestly, I would *love* to have an alternate Marvel universe that takes risks, presents something (potentially) more mature, and using Garfield would be a great ace card to use given the surge of popularity he gained after No Way Home.
Sony *could* rival Disney and Marvel Studios, like WB and DC could, and this would be an excellent way to (at the very least) attempt it.
But it would be awful and probably more edgy then "mature" since it's Sony, so no thanks

I think the best argument for Garfield is to finally have some Spider-MAN movies. Peter has been the perpetual teenager for 20 years. We've seen the awkward high school drama; we've seen Uncle Ben die twice and Aunt May once. Young Spider-Man has been done. I really want to see a more mature Parker, who's grown out of that awkward phase and knows what he's doing.
I love the idea of see Spiderman from Venom/Villains perspective. I remember I always loved the scene in the original Suicide Squad where Deadshot is just walking with his daughter and Batman randomly drops in from the alley way. It was cool to see it the other way around.
but so dumb.
Ah yes, batman drops infront of a parent and child walking down an alley, to beat up and arrest the parent and probably traumatize the child. Nothing wrong with that.
@@projekttaku1 that specific example is dumb (though Ben Affleck's Batman is a soulless bastard so it's not surprising), but seeing something similar, especially from the Spidey villains, would be great.

Could be *really* nice to have some Spider-Man content - hell, any content nowadays - that isn't tied to some huge Cinematic Universe. I think that's a big part of why so many people enjoyed The Joker and The Batman... granted, the Sony universe that they're building is still a CU, but it feels a lot smaller and, as you said, open for experimentation.
Into the Spiderverse might be the greatest comicbook film every made, and it’s getting a sequel soon.
It's kind of ironic how all these other franchises, especially Sonyverse and the DCEU say that they are different from the MCU but end up being just like the MCU
@@Fantallana a1aoaaoho{o9oo2
if you want spiderman contet that isnt apart of any universes, then you should watch spectacular spiderman. it is *THE* best spiderman show.
I think No Way Home presented a great way to reintroduce Garfields Spiderman. In NWH, Garfield Spidey felt inadequate when compared to both other spideys given what villians (or lack-thereof) he has faced off with. I think using Venom and Morbius, maybe even Vulture to form a choaotic allience of sorts, is a good way to bring Garfield back. Garfield spideys story could kind of pick up from where he left off. Wanting to prove to himself that he is as amazing as the other Spidey's said.
Vulture and Venom could both come to some sort of realization that Morbius is worse than they thought then the two + Garfield Spidey work together to kill him.
Eliminate arguably the worst character of the Sony Spiderverse and rectify Garfield Spidey while sparing Venom and maybe vulture and linking it somehow to the upcoming Kraven and Madame web movies.
Now I still think any future projects are a terrible idea because rhe Sonyverse is already terrible, but if they wanted to do right by the fans, they have every opportunity to do so, but I think its safe to say the faith is gone.
Andrew Garfield be like: “I’m not coming back for 30%. I’m coming back for everything” but in real life.
Honestly it’s safe to say. After no way home. Andrew is my favorite spider man. For sure. His movies eh. But his Peter!!!!!! Hands down best one. He Embodies what I like about the character
@Aaron Pablos love where you heads at!
Just keep Avi Arad and Sony as far away as possible. Let Mark Webb do his own thing.
#AviAradOut
I think it's funny how Adrian did all that he did for his family and in a twisted way you could relate and understand him. Then in Morbius he gets transported to an unknown place (Even if he doesn't know he's in a different universe it's still somewhere he's not really familiar with) and he's just...vibing. No care in the world that he's separated from his wife and daughter, who he was willing to let his enemy go because he saved her life. Idk, maybe it's just me over thinking.
No it's just you thinking at all
I get that
That’s Sony for you
People don’t think he’s coming back but he’s clearly been getting in extreme shape for a role. If you look well enough you can notice it.
He's getting in shape for a mini series portraying the young Richard Branson, who was always into extreme sports. He is currently in Bali learning how to surf for that role with Kelly Slaters' trainer.
I honestly love the idea the idea of having a Kraven film be based on Kraven’s Last Hunt. And I agree I think it would fit better if it has Andrew’s Spider-Man in it.
People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of this franchise
They should blame AVI ARAD for stuffing so many characters for the sake of toys sales
#IBlameAviArad
We never did.
Avi Arad's obsession with creating a Spider-verse is what destroyed TASM series, Green Goblin was never supposed to be in the TASM2.
@@spider-man500 a lot o people do
Not sure about merch sales, Sony sold that back to Disney back in 2011...pre-TASM 1 and 2.
It wasn't about toys but more about introducing future foes, but it wasn't done in an organic way that's for sure.
I think the classic way of teasing a character could have worked just as well with shots of spiderman's costume hands and costumed feet running around in the background but avoiding a full shot to prevent him from being the main focus while still contributing to the plot.
Thank you for voicing this. I do agree that Amazing Spiderman was not the best of the Spidey movies, I always liked Andrew and his take on the character. I was bummed when they canned this movie series and started over with Holland. I do hope Disney gives Garfield's Spidey a second chance.
The very universe definitely has the same kind of vibes as the ASM films. That very grungy and somewhat dower feel.
I was just watching a video on the TASM2 game when you did this.

I know people want tasm 3 but honestly I just want a slice of life series of Andrew being the friendly neighborhood Spiderman that he is. The little things in tasm 2 like when he helped out that kid with his project were my favourite parts of that film.
Andrew Garfield can’t come back because he never left my heart
For me there are two possible directions.
The dark period after Gwen Stacey's death where he stopped pulling his punches.
Or, a more hopeful Spiderman following the events of No Way Home.
@Aaron Pablos Interesting idea. I love it!
Can’t wait to watch this one. Love your videos midnight thanks for making them. Have a wonderful day and may you be blessed today
I still want Amazing Spider Man 3 to happen with The Sinister Six. They did tease Doc Ock & Vulture in TASM2.
No there already a Spiderman accept it
I love that AG is getting such love after nwh! He deserves it! But many seem to forget the mess that the whole sony universe is and has been since that's reboot was attempted! At this point, I'd only trust feige to do his character justice.
I wish that they hadn't completely cancelled the Amazing Spider-man universe, and had made the Venom movies in that universe. Maybe Eddie Brock is covering some war overseas, we see this universe's Flash Thompson joined the marines. (Nod to him eventually becoming Agent Venom in the comics) Maybe an evil company overseas has discovered something unusual that might help the other side win the war. Eddie Brock must expose this company, in the process he gets exposed to the symbiote. Then with Carnage, they could've had it be a Slasher horror story where Eddie is trying to find Cletus through the aftermath of his massacres. Putting the pieces together of Carnage's past.
They can still make Andrew Garfield fight the Sinister 6.
NWH was the closest thing we got to a Sinister Six.
Nope tom holland
Having a villian story where Spiderman is the antagonist and even the bad guy in the perspective of the main character? I love it I'm in.
bro spit nothing but pure fax this whole video 🤝🏾 and garfield should definitely return
I would do anything to see The Amazing Spider-Man 3 🕷️🕸️
I think the only way to do it…
1.) Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb need to be brought back and give them full creative control.
2.) I personally would like it if it’s set a few years after he has teamed up with Holland and Maguire. Show him in a better state.
3.) Black Cat. It doesn’t seem like Holland’s movies are gonna use her, but I think she fits best with Andrew’s Peter.
4.) I would also like to maybe see Sally Fields back, it sucks she didn’t like making these movies because she’s my favorite Aunt May.
5.) Tom Hardy’s Venom
Captain Midnight has the smoothest Segway s of video to sponser.
He's a fantastic actor; however, I did not care for the way Peter Parker was written in the script. In the movie, he came to his high school graduation looking cool and popular. The entire class cheered him. The original high school Peter Parker of Marvel comics was the opposite of this.
Pete in the comics was cool
This is a really great idea for thesony direction
Idk about returning as Spider-Man, but I love Garfield. He’s such a good actor.
This is amazing
Couldn't have said it better! Nailed it!
the new kraven movie could be the best time to make that storyline happen, since they are trying to paint him as a nice guy maybe he tries to take over andrew's spidey since we learned that he has become violent in his world
Literal GENIUS idea 👏🏽👏🏽
captainmidnight: I'm gonna talk about Andrew's Spider-man.
Also captainmidnight: Talks more about the villains.
I think the best way to continue the TASMverse is not with a third movie (not yet, anyway), but rather a TV series. This way, they can cover all the bases and tie up every loose end that the first two movies brought to the table. I don't have a complete plan for the whole thing, but here are some ideas:
The first half of the series picks up right where TASM2 left off, with Episode 1 showing the Rhino fight. Spider-Man beats him, but at some point, Rhino strikes a nerve and causes him to lash out and go overboard with the beatdown. Spider-Man barely catches himself just before he can kill him and swings away, but continues to have a hard time pulling his punches whenever he fights crime. This results in Andrew getting his own Venom arc (since these movies were meant to be more realistic, maybe this version can be a man-made symbiote, which wouldn't clash with the "I wanna fight an alien!" line), with Venom preying on his guilt and anger over the loss of Gwen.
The rest of the first half can dedicate each episode to addressing a different plot point (just a few examples):
- Peter's father coming back and reconciling with Aunt May
- The public (including the Stacys) blaming Spider-Man for Gwen's death
- New versions of iconic villains being introduced
- Aunt May's nursing school
- Another flashback centered on Peter's parents
- Felicia Hardy becoming Black Cat
Then right after Peter gains the strength to destroy Venom, he gets warped into the MCU during the events of No Way Home. At the show's halfway point, we can also get an episode where all of Peter's associates are looking for him while he's gone.
Following Peter's return, the back half of the episodes can focus on his redeemed self as he tries to clean up his act, all the while fighting more bad guys and even forming a relationship with Black Cat. The show would then end on a cliffhanger before we finally get TASM3: The Sinister Six. I don't have a full plot idea for the film, but Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin would make his return, which would threaten to make Peter lose control again, given his prior actions. Ultimately, he and Black Cat defeat the Six, ending the franchise on a conclusive note and allowing the studio to have its cake and eat it too.
Happy birthday Andrew Garfield may we see your Spider-Man return.
Your villain movie idea reminds me of the X Files episode, Hungry. The main character of the ep was a brain eating mutant human. Mulder and Scully were the antagonists, FBI agents hunting a reluctant killer
Garfield was my favourite spidey and will remain my favourite spidey - he brought such a genuine, boyish energy to the role.
They need to make a Venom 3 and TASM 3 the same movie: Venom & The Amazing Spider-Man. Tom and Andrew would share top billing.
Agreed, Garfield would be great in a 3rd installment of "his" Amazing Spider Man.
But that movie would have to be very different from the usual Spiderman flicks. Garfield is turning 40. That's definitively too old to still play some college kid! It would have to be a alternative story about an older, matured Spider-man who has had his fair share of experiences, loses and victories, in the "Hero Business"
I believe his Peter would be in his early to mid 30s at this point in the timeline, so that could definitely lend credit to a different kind of Spider-Man story.
I don't mind bringing him back, but not at the expense of Tom Holland or anything.
The "Home Arc" (or whatever they're calling) taken all together is great, & I've really grown to love Holland as Peter Parker. It'd be fun to see Garfield get another shot as the main guy, but more so for whatever Sony's doing or something parallel to Holland.
I’d love to have a movie in the perspective of the spider-man villains. It would also be great if Andrew’s Peter was in his “I stopped pulling my punches” phase.
My pitch for TASM3 is also an adaptation...but for Spider-Man: Blue. The narrative device of Peter talking to Gwen through a tape recorder is perfect to do kind of a clip show catching us up on his life between TASM2 to current. They can show him not pulling his punches as alluded to in No Way Home. You can introduce the Sinister Six characters individually (which Sony seems hellbent on) without having to do backstories for them. Have him meet Venom (so he finally meets his alien). But the heart of the story is use the catching MJ scene as a turning point for him to be ready to love again. Again clip show him beginning a new relationship (most like Mary Jane, but I personally would prefer Felicia Hardy) in the couple years after No Way Home. End with him asking Gwen for permission to ask MJ or Felicia to marry him all the meanwhile while you see them listening to Peter's conversation to a tape recorder. Sadly it wont hit the emotional level of Spider-Man Blue (mostly because there is no shared history between Gwen and MJ like in the comics for MJ to bust out the line "Say hi to Gwen for me, and tell her I miss her too") but it does have emotional weight throughout the whole movie.
TASM4 do something with the Sinster Six as a collective vs Spidey, Venom, and Black Cat (if you went the Felicia route in TASM3)
TASM5 now do Kraven's Last Hunt to end the series.
I just can't stop imagining some manager at sony not knowing how to bring back Andrew Garfield's spider-man, then going on youtube and searching it and this it what he sees

I think you mean Spider-Man no way home
I love your idea, especially given that Garfield's Spider-Man seemed to be the one of the three in No Way Home that seemed to be suffering the most from a crisis of identity and self. A Spidey who has lost the Peter Parker of it all and is becoming just the mask. Doing Kraven's Last Hunt especially would really be interesting as we see what happens to that Peter when his sense of identity is even further complicated.
him and Tobey will be in Secret Wars
I really like the idea of a Kraven's last hunt movie and the overall idea of Garfield's spiderman becoming the emotional center of a rebirth for the webhead inside Sony. Now i don't believe it will become a reality cuz they"re just a bunch of very boring and uninteresting executives.
Still my favorite Spider-Man, and the best actor out of the bunch!
I'd be surprised if Sony made a move like that, but ultimately I think now more than ever is a great time to bring Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man into a new story. With the MCU slowly shifting into the MCM with its multiversal outings, it as you said, gives Sony the excuse to do some big swings when it comes to tone and story. I wanna see a Spider-Man film given the love Matt Reeves gave to The Batman. I wanna see a Spider-Man film where the director gets to tell the studio execs to keep their hands out of the project and let them and their team work. I wanna see strong choices with cinematography that are only sparsely made in the MCU. I want a memorable score that really shifts and hits in a way that makes it unforgettable. I'd love to see Andrew come back as I really enjoy his performance, but ultimately, I don't want him to fall victim to the puppeteering of a studio exec. I wanna see him shine like he did in No Way Home. I wanna see a story that really deserves Andrew
Love Captain midnight

You make the movie about obsession and moving on
Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and Jeffery Dean Morgan as Kraven
And you take the movie 100% seriously while making it.
That's the kind of Spider-Man story I want.
A story about the hard elements of life, like Spider-Man has always been about.
Good idea the Spidey POV from other people, like the Mad Max movies.
Hey Ray, are you gonna be back at the building at some point tonight?
We have an alley show tonight and might need the extension cord going that way
They should make spider-man an antagonist to one of Sony's villains, like he only appears in brief scenes, in the shadows, swinging in the backgrounds, treated as a type of urban legend feared by low level thugs. (i.e - just like how Ben Affleck's Batman was portrayed in the original suicide squad). We should never actually know this new spider-man's back story, and he should never be the focus of a scene (i.e- a spider man chase scene is shown through the perspective of a villain with him gaining on him)
idk this how i imagine spider-man being in this sony-verse.
A new captainmidnight video and a new HiTop Films video both on the same day?! Life is good sometimes!
This is a fantastic idea and I truly hope we get something like this, and I would certainly love Andrew Garfield to return and be given a good script

I haven’t seen Morbius. I didn’t think it would be that good but was curious because of the 90s TV show
Here's the plot: After teleporting away from Holland's universe, Maguire and Garfield appear in what seems to be a devastated NY. They are confused but realized that's not either of their universes. This NY is ruled by a tirant Carnage and most citizens are taken by symbiotes. Soon they find Spider Gwen and Miles Morales (this is their universe) and Garfield decides to be called "Ben Reilly" and becomes the Scarlet Spider. They fight carnage, save new york and find a way to go to the next universe, trying to go home...
A ballsy move but if done right it could work...
Cool dude, can you make another such video about how they can bring back Toby Maguire’s?
Andrew deserves a third Spider-Man to close out his story.

Would love if marc webb could come back with actual creative control for a andrew solo movie but this a great idea they just need a good producer and writers
I'd love to see Garfield return in some capacity, it's clear he loves the character.
I think if Sony wants to have their own Spider-man characters, make a Spider-men movie based around Ben Reily and Kaine Parker. You can say that Peter Parker 'died' during a version of the clone saga and have the 2 Spider-men fight the Jackal and possibly some other clones.
You don't have the expectation of Peter Parker's character then so you can build entirely new heroes.
Then down the line they could bring back OG Peter Parker - possibly as the superior Spider-man and have him as a villain for a bit
Honestly I don’t care what the story or villain is, I just want Andrew Garfield to get *at least* one more solo Spider-Man film! He deserves his trilogy too 🥺❤️

An Amazing Spidey 3 writes itself. After having his No way home adventure. Peter (Andrew) seeks out and finds a way to open up the multiverse on his end where he finds a Spidey Gwen (played by Emma). They bond, go on an epic adventure together and end up together in the end. Thats all the movie needs to be.
An interesting idea would be to explore the dark past of Garfield's Spidey that was teased in No Way Home. The movie could start off with him actually killing a person, and after his return to his home universe, he would be dealing with the consequences of it.
But knowing Sony and how their live-action Spider-Man universe has gone so far, I wouldn't trust them with another Garfield Spider-Man outing. The next plausible appearance for him, I think would be in the Secret Wars movie.
5:03 Aaron Taylor Johnson is playing Kraven and would good actor to collab with Andrew Garfield, they both played masked superheroes during the 2010s and would be a great return for both of them
Great video and all, Andrew Garfield was actually a good Spider-Man in my book, but it would be interesting if they just told the story like you say from the villains point of view but what Spider-Man in the story, but never take off his mask. Like they don't even tell us who's been cast as Spider-Man. Because then from the villain point of view it's like they don't know his identity yet you know and as the audience we wouldn't either. And then there might be a reason to do a sequel or a Sinister Six type of movie where they team up Avengers style but then they could find out who the Spider-Man is it could be a big deal LOL thanks for reading my rant
That would be pretty interesting. Having the Sinister Six working together to unmask Spider-Man is definitely interesting. Only problem is the villains would have to be doing something interesting other than fighting Spider-Man.
I see Aaron Taylor Johnson working well with Andrew
I’ve had a kraven centric screenplay in my head/scrawled notes where he kills Spider-Man for so long but never felt the need to write it up cause it’ll never be allowed
I am not an avid comic reader only know stuff from Wikipedia so it’s crazy to see a comic in the same vein as my idea, although he doesn’t take the mantle of spider man in my movie.
I don't see how you can do Kraven's Last Hunt as Kraven's first story. Part of what made that story great is because Kraven was a joke of a villain that Spidey regularly handled without too much trouble. I'd like to see Kraven be the cold open villain fight, get humiliated 1-2 times and then come in with Last Hunt.
Andrew Garfield for sure is an amazing spiderman and the love he has for the character is something else. He deserves closure on his story first to start a multiverse. I imagine a travel beyond universes trying to save Gwen only for it not to happen and settle on a bitter good bye.
Doing an Amazing Spider Man 3 right now would be an *AMAZING Move*
I think tasm3 should be Kraven’s last hunt personally and if tasm3 bombs leave the venom crossover for venom 3 or a possible tasm4
I finished a spec script for ASM3 a few months ago. Spider-Man was bitter and rageful. Plot was Fiers buying Oscorp and several villains coming into the picture in consequence. Richard Parker’s fear of his research getting into the wrong hands was dire. There are ways to fix it.
Sony really is wasting a lot of opportunity not using Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man again in these villain films especially after all the praise he got from NWH and how it was mentioned that his Spider-Man “got bitter” and stopped pulling his punches. They could use one of these villain films to show that dark aspect of his time as Spider-Man after Gwen’s death and make it all come back around to his arrival in NWH
They should put Mary Jane in the Amazing Spider-Man 3
This is the only way I’d ever be excited for these films. It’s a great idea. I have NO confidence that they’d do it well, but it would be great if it were.
I agree that Andrew Garfield's Spidey has the potential to come back. Heck, I'd even gamble on Sam Raimi's 4th Spiderman film with Tobey. The thing is, there's less of a risk now since people are aware of the multiverse concept.
My take though for Garfield's Spidey would be more of a Spiderman film with him still haunted by the death of Gwen. This of course has some hidden anger inside the character which may attract the symbiote (Tom Hardy's Venom). I don't any further ideas there but the point is, I think there's a need for them to be in a movie together.
While we're also on the topic of multiverse, a 4th Amazing Spiderman film could give us Spider Gwen which turns Peter's life upside-down at the appearance of an alternate version of Gwen Stacy.
I honestly would like to see more Morbius. His character was pretty good, but the movie itself had too many cut scenes and lack of development for Milo, alongside having really bad pacing (probably due to the missing scenes that were needed: flashbacks).
