Awesome! I've just recently gotten into Xenia, especially realizing I can essentially pull games and saves straight from the HDD! Anyway, these steps worked and NO MORE TEARING! Sound was already fine for me, but sound issues may have resolved themselves in the time since this video was uploaded!

Excellent! Something I failed to mention in this video that you might try is using a different value on the Max queued frames. I saw a different forum post elsewhere that said to put 16 in. I only tried 3 and it worked for Goldeneye, but it may vary depending on the game.

Appreciate that, bud. Yeah, Xenia can be a bit spotty with certain games. It might be worth looking into some of the Xenia compatibility lists out there. It may be a case where a different regional variation of the file works better than the one you have.
Thanks for the quick vid, able to play red dead at a smooth 60 without screen tear now. I know how to change the resolution but for some reason even 1080p tanks my fps and im running a rtx 3070 and an i7700k, any ideas what could be causing that please?
Not really sure on that one. I haven’t tried changing resolution myself, though I had thought about lowering it on the Steam Deck to see if I could get a locked 60 on Goldeneye. If I had to take a guess, I’d say the emulator is just that demanding. But if I come across any info, I’ll pass it along.
@@WigWoo1 I don’t think so. I’d say you’ll probably have to download a different version of Xenia to get the correct Tomi file. You might be able to add the Max Queued Frames line into the one you have and have it work. Not really sure though.
For some reason the .toml file in documents/xenia doesn't have this line. The .toml file in the actual install folder will have it. Took me forever to realize that

Couldn’t find anything specifically about Lego Star Wars, but others have reported texture issues in other games said that pressing F5 on the Keyboard resolved the issue. Otherwise I’d say the game just has a compatibility issue with the emulator and there probably isn’t a way of fixing it.
How are you getting 60fps? I’ve only tried dark souls but it seems locked at 30fps. Tried red dead redemption and also 30fps. I checked the config file and the vsync-fps is set for 60 and vsync is true. I turned vsync off and I get 60 but the game is double speed also…
The games will run at whatever the original frame rate was on 360. If you modify the settings, it will increase the game speed because a lot of games have their animations tied to the frame rate. In the case of Dark Souls, you’d probably be better off going with the Steam version if you want a higher frame rate.

Often times there are community patches to get games running in 60fps. No guarantees, but it might be worth a look. RPCS3 has a bit more community support than Xenia.

Programs like this never make sense to me why not just have the settings that work be the default? We shouldn't have to go into the settings and change it this happens to everyone you think by now they would just change the settings
I agree. I don’t know what the benefits are of having the default settings be the way they are. With Xenia, it doesn’t have a lot of support going for it (or at least not as much as other emulators) so it’s doubly annoying when you have to change things. No dedicated menu to tweak these things in, you have to do it all through a file. Edit: Xenia may have been updated now to have actual menus. Idk. Haven’t went into the actual Xenia emulator since I made this video. I just use it to play Goldeneye on my Steam Deck.
You might try playing around with the Max Queued Frame number. One forum suggested 16 instead of 3. I hope you’re able to get it working. The MGS HD Collection is one that I was planning to try at some point.
If you downloaded the version I had linked and the option wasn’t in there, you might try downloading a newer version of Xenia. Others have reported that there are 2 locations for the Xenia file, one being the main folder you use to access the .exe file, the other being the Installation file, so you might go looking for the Installation one.
The only other fix I could think of would be forcing V Sync through your graphic card control panel. It’s possible Xenia Canary has its own V Sync option in that file I show in the video now, I haven’t messed around in the files for it in quite a while.
If it’s crashing when you boot the emulator, you might have to try a different version of Xenia Canary. If it’s crashing on the game, that particular game might not be supported.
I’m guessing it didn’t do that before you changed the Max Queued Frame Value? I would try changing it back to see if that fixes it. If so, you be out of luck on MK when it comes to eliminating the audio delay. @@RickRacket okay his method works sort of. so, for max queued frame value I still put it to 3 and the video you show me also work including his comment section where he recommend playing canary in a different version, I picked jan 17 2022 however when I progress the story mode I've manage get to chapter 5 and by the time I was in chapter 3 the game started to freeze but it wasn't much of an issue since I was able progress to the story but the game keep on freezing on each chapter. @@RickRacket I decided to try both earlier and there doesn't seem to be a difference between 16 and 3. Both are def better than 64 but the sound is still behind on the cutscenes of the game I'm playing. I don't assume more can be done to fix it? I can live with it being a bit out of sync but if there's more I can do to fix it I'll try it.

COD 3 on Xenia has graphical issues, unfortunately, and this is probably one of them. You can try forcing V sync through your graphics card, and that might fix it. Otherwise you might give it a go on RPCS3. Sadly, Xenia doesn’t have as much support as most other emulators, so there are several games that have issues like that.

If you have the experimental version of Canary, it should be in there under the APU heading. If not, try downloading a newer or older version of Canary. You may even be able to add the Max Queued Frames text in there yourself, but I’m not entirely sure on that.
You might try using different/older versions of Xenia. Before I discovered this fix, I downloaded an older version of Xenia that didn’t have screen tear. Also, I can’t remember if there is a V sync option in the Tomi configuration file, but you could look and see if it’s set to on, or use your Graphics card control panel to enable V sync.
@@RickRacket And if I'm being fair and completely honest, Ninja Gaiden 2 seems a bit unstable for xenia altogether. Seems like at best you might get 45 min to an hour and then it drops to 10 fps and sputters like its running outta gas.
@maskedman2210 You might look into running it on RPCS3, assuming it came out on PS3 back in the day. RPCS3 has better support, and overall better compatibility. Xenia sadly doesn’t seem to get much in terms of updates. Honestly, I haven’t used Xenia for anything except Goldeneye, and Goldeneye isn’t that demanding.

You’ll have to find the install folder for Xenia and edit that Tomi file. Apparently for some people, the Tomi file isn’t in the regular Xenia folder.

Everytime I try to disable Screen Tear, it just re-enables it self.
The file might be set to ‘Read only’ Right click the file and go to properties, uncheck the box that says ‘Read only’ and save.

Xenia sadly doesn’t seem to get much in terms of updates. Honestly, I haven’t used Xenia for anything except Goldeneye, and Goldeneye isn’t that demanding.
@@RickRacket It runs Saints Row 1 ok. But again, like you said, not that demanding. In fact, I THINK I remember hearing SR1 was actually originally designed for ps2 and og xbox, but im not 100% sure on that.
I just looked into ninja gaiden 2 for ps3 and its the bs pg-13 sigma ninja gaiden 2. Entire reason I wanted the xbox 360 version. Y do they gotta do that??? I'm sick of my favorite games getting neutured!!!
