Thank you so much for letting us know right away instead of avoiding it or just not discussing it at all until much much later asin the past. It was very informative. And I'm so sorry you had to experience it. But from all bad things can come good. We can always learn and grow. I can already tell you have. Thanks
Sorry you lost her. Honestly I’d really like to see you do more research and slow down on acquiring animals at such a quick rate. Better to be prepared and fully educated before you dive in. No hate, just a sad way to gain experience.
Yeah I’d like to see the same like when I was getting salt water fish witch I’ve never gotten before my parents told me that I had to research for a year than my mom got a test on the internet and if I got 10 out of 10 on that fish I could get it I think everybody should do that
@@johnmartin1234 that’s a smart idea. Salt water is really difficult and you really have to keep up with it. I hope you are enjoying it! Coolest thing to watch.
@@offsetwaffle3121 have you ever owned a salt water fish you have to make sure everything is right that two fish can go in the same tank that one fish won’t eat the other you have to clean the tank every week you have to make sure if your fish gets ick you quarantine that whole tank it’s much harder than you think
@@offsetwaffle3121 I’ve kept saltwater tanks for over 35 years, but okkk 🤷🏻♀️ and on fish that can cost hundreds of dollars? Yea it’s a great idea.
@@offsetwaffle3121 ok so you only have one?
I’m so sorry for your loss, Blake. There’s nothing you could have done. You gave this little one the best life and care you could have.
of course there is. I know Blake means well but a few of the animals he keeps are not suited for domestic pets. They are wild animals with wild instincts and it can take generations of breeding in captivity before they are even slightly suitable to live in captivity happily
@@AlanSurgeoner he does as good as he can and all animals we keep started that way
@@AlanSurgeoner these animals that he has are dying out in the wild. Nature is dying and humans aren’t changing it. We need people like Blake to be interacting with the animals and getting them to start getting used to captivity, because in the end, all of the wild will be gone.
So true
@@gavinc7460 Not if they are all dying under Blakes "care". The animals don't need him, that's for sure.
How deficient in calcium was the otter? Sounds like status epilepticus, probably due to low calcium - low vitamin D due to lack of sunlight likely cause of that.
Also the bony deformity is more likely nutritional than genetic
That's why animals should stay protected in Nature as they were meant to . Really sad 😔
@@prem.g.gaikwad or at least not impulse buying animals and not knowing how to provide the expert care they require!
@@jamesmeegan yeah but I do feel like people should just leave animals to do there own thing
@@jamesmeegan totally agree. These aren’t normal “pets” and they require a very high level of care and knowledge. There’s a reason zoos have qualified ppl and vets on staff.
Awe so sorry about your little pet😢...also so sad to lose a part of the ranch. Hang in there each day is a new day for learning and experience is a good teacher. Love the ranch cant wait to see what u do in the next builds ❤
So sorry for your loss Blake Ollie is so cute otters are one of my favorites looking forward to seeing him grow up...
By the end of the story I forgot what we were talking about .... damn dude looks like he is trying to explain to a cop on how he has no responsibility in the death of the animal . We get it but damn bro your story telling is horrible.
Well said Ricky
I no right and when u lie it’s hard remembering the lies u told he was tryin to think as he explained it gettin all mixed up I don’t no how he thinks readin what the vet found on a piece of paper he’s made up if he had the info from the vets if they had even said any of this it would of been typed out there logo on the paperwork ect not some first graders work he’s responsible for it all he failed them by not doin his homework on them before he got them which he’s been doin a lot lately
Yo the story seems to line up pretty well and if it didint is it any of you’re business no so you should watch his videos and appreciate that he makes them or just don’t watch them how come you have to come at him calling him a liar even tho you litteraly have no actual evidence proveing anything
So sorry for your loss Blake. It is always hard losing a furry friend. Ollie looks great, what a beautiful little creature.
As you know Blake, I often give credit where it is due but I will also call you out when you screw up with facts on links and what not. This comment is kinda both, I praise your efforts for building proper enclosures. You also are not to blame for the otters death as all living animals and people are born with defects at times that sometimes they live other times they die, it can't be helped at times such as this. But I do blame you for not doing any or hardly any research before exploring into new species that you have not dealt with before. Proper enclosures and all their needs with studies should always be done first as all you are teaching by your actions is spontaneous buys to the open public that results in neglected animals across the world by not researching first and that is wrong. I don't want to offend you or anyone but I say it in the best interest for the animals.
What animal do you think he didn’t research
I agree
@@briannelson3830 .. several over the past 2 years since I watched his channel.
Very well said. As an enthusiast myself, I often see a lot of hasty issues in Blake’s care that could be solved with just a bit more planning and foresight. Making sure your enclosures and research is beyond the bare minimum is and should be the goal for any hobbyist, particularly if you’re going to put it out for the public to see and possibly imitate. I don’t even keep small clawed otters and I know that calici/vitamin D issues are common issues in mustelids. Blake needs to slow down, and consider carefully all the options, make the enclosure fully, and then proceed.
He didn't research that the otters needed extra calcium, and animals need vitamin D. So if you aren't supplimenting vit D, you should at least take said animals outside.
I just think he needs to study more on his basics, all the way around. Plus general knowledge. Admit that part of the otters death WAS his fault for neglegence in not doing all of his research.
Do you rescue these animals? Or you buy from breeders? You don’t seem to be well qualified to handle otters, probably should stop getting so many exotic animals. Maybe hire a vet on sight if possible
Agreed.
You guys don’t even know how good he is so don’t judge him
Being severely calcium deficient and suffering a lack of vitamins , the deformities are very unlikely to be genetic . Blake was honest with the facts , but not so much with the outcome .
Do you own animals?
@Dani Masterson you’ve had hundreds of animals? Why? Did you own a zoo? How did they die? I’ve had a lot of pets and still do and they are getting old. Makes me seriously wonder what happened to all of yours. Strange
@Dani Masterson hundred of animals hahahahahhhahahahaha you a puppy farm?
@Dani Masterson for reals though if you think that otter died of calcium deficiency you are dumb and shouldn’t own any animals
@@danielworthington9348 blake literally said it was , and that's exactly how deformities happen . Yes I own and have owned many animals .
I do enjoy watching Blakes video's and have much respect for his knowledge regarding some of the animals he keeps. however, know your limitations, animals in captivity require time, money, knowledge, and people to care for them properly. We are just as much at fault as Blake is, we want to see more animal, we get bored, stop watching, and the views drop. In turn, U tubers run out and get more animals, please, lets encourage them to care for the animals they have and stop getting new ones that they don't have the time or resources to care for them properly!!
So sorry for your lost Blake stay strong...💞 Oliver is literally so adorable 💖
Here is a phrase that you will never hear from Blake "....to make a long story short....."
Nobody tells a story like Blake. Lol
It takes soooooo loooong he uses to many words over and over and over.......
lmaooooo facts but he jumps right into the title he just takes forever
Jonah Smith yeah
Animal mothers know when somethings wrong with their babies. They are super intuitive and knows when something isn’t right. We don’t give animals enough credit that they are that smart.
You can have 80 years of farming and ranching experience and you learn new things every day
Sorry for your loss, but Otters fall into the category of "just because you can have/own them, doesn't mean you should have/own them" some animals should be left to professional aza zoos only.
I’m buying an Otter
@@paulrebel8043 good for you, we will all sleep better at night knowing that
blake takes care of his animals better than your mom took care of you his dogs eat steaks and never leaves anything without. Acting like you know about the life he lives.
Sorry for your loss. Glad Olly is ok. Time to find another little girl!
I'm new to the channel and appreciate that you are showing the good and the bad with raising animals. I'm sorry you lost your little female otter. Ollie is sooo adorable! I'm glad he's doing so well! Thanks for sharing!😊❤
He skips a lot of the bad. Like the social needs of his remaining otter now being unmet
Blake: You guys are probably cold up north arent you?

Sorry for your lost may she Rest In Peace and have all the fun and her favorite food up in heaven but oli is soooo cute
So sorry about the little girl 😢 but at least now you know great things to do for Ollie and he is so stinking cute! 🙂
Sorry for your Loss, I almost lost a Dog Calcium Deficiency, got her to the Vet in time, I had to give her Calcium Pills, the reason for the Deficiency was she was too good of a Mother and feeding her puppies all the time, so I to also keep her away from them a few times a day
I am utterly sorry about you your baby.so heartbreaing.my prayers are with ykoi
My boy Blake be keeping it real since day 1!!!!! I got dms from when my boy only had 80k -50k shit crazy bro keep doing your thing see you at the top og keep grinding
Blake you are very good at helping people understand things especially me.
I feel like more died and he said he sold them he said I sold traded one for a new blood line and he sold one so he could have funds for the enclosures this kids and his family is far from broke then he goes that makes sense why wouldn't it make since like hes not telling us everything that otter looked to have mass bone loss from lack of nutrition
A few things bothers me deeply about this. One is that he completely lacks emotion. He spoke of loving them but has no emotion when speaking of losing one. Two he justifies all animal deaths by saying he is learning from it, he should have learned beforehand so that none of his animals have to suffer to teach him. It also kills me that every time I go to his comment section people are asking what happened to different animals. Why do so many of his animals go missing??
@@spooniemel6811 AGREE !!
He dodges about of facts! I don't believe him
Hi Blake I'm so sorry for your loss I hope your doing OK just know that she will always be in your heart
I hope you have learned to take your animals to a vet before they are on the edge of death. Preventative measures especially with animals new to your care
He knows what hes doing✋🏽
@@xx_hibachi_xx3308 yes, all the dead animals are a great example of his competency
@@xx_hibachi_xx3308 No he does not. This is a prime example. That animal suffered horribly because of the lack of calcium. He could have called a zoo for advise but instead he waited for the vet 2 days later. Open up your eyes.
@Courtney Lynn To bad he did not use one of those good vets.
Awe so sorry about your little girl. Ollie is so cute.
Sorry for your loss. Olli is just so adorable😄🥰
So sorry for your loss but the little boy looks great.he is so cute
Sounds like it died from calcium deficiency and lack of d3 since you think uv rays can go through windows. Lack of calcium will deformed bones and teeth .... sorry to say it but maybe do more research before you get a new animal not after something goes wrong....or maybe just consider spending more time on the animals you have instead of trying to get new animal to get more views ....these animals are not having there best life as you say. And what happened to the snakes you got from a friend (that was getting plenty of uv from a window) which was closed.
Glad to see videos are back
So sorry for your loss rest in peace baby otter.
Glad you still keeping that positivity going. We all go through similar things in life weather is a human or an animal. There's only so much as breeders and animal care takers we can do.. we just have to keep pushing and hope for the best. But I see the clips on Instagram on ur aviary build. It's coming along awesome. Keep doing what you don't hold back.. your knowledge is well advised to everyone who's in the same hobby or similar. Godbless always
K seen the gram, but we need the RUclips video of the new build. Cant wait to see it
You seem to be trying to convince your audience. Don't try to hard. You did not do complete research. That baby suffered without calcium. Congrats Blake. You are a mess
Do you have to make people feel worse about a situation or something. Life is about learning and we do that through mistakes. Don't be such a idiot. Sorry for the loss Blake
@@cameronmiles1193 I am SO sorry that i love animals. I study before i acquire thus my animals don't die. The animal died of severe calcium loss. Do your research before coming at me dude. STFU
@@cameronmiles1193 we (humans) shouldn’t allow an animal to suffer! We should not be okay with animals dying for the sake of human learning. It bothers me so bad that you and so many others just chalk it up to a learning experience every time he loses an animal. You are justifying the death of a living creature and saying that their only purpose in this world is our “education”.
I agree 💯 with you all (except Cameron)
Always something. Sorry for the loss. You will find a work around for sure.
Love the vid man sorry for your lost
Sorry for the loss.
Oliver is adorable
What kind of breeder is this if he has baby otters abandond by their mother from two different blood lines? That doesn't add up🤔
they were most likely removed from the mothers care to handraise them they become tamer if you that and the mother can have more litters that way.
yeah "abandoned" most likely pulled so they'd fetch an higher price when sold
Hello Blake. How ars you. Im sorry for your loss. Getting the right diet is also a positive thing. Thats what we do is learn from our mitakes.
Thank you for sharing what happen and Oliver is looking good
Blah blah...chances are it was your fault....just stick to chickens and turtles, please.
"i gave away the boy" 3 mins later "ok i have a boy and a girl" *me lost*
He said that he traded the boy for another boy...
Sorry for your loss it sucks losing a pet even if you didn't have it for that long they are always like family or more
Kinda sad how he got 3 otters and now doesn’t have any of those 3 anymore
He does..the boy now called Oliver!
@@Trayway13 bro oliver came from a different breeder he came from a different bloodline
He sold a girl and the other girl died and then he kept the boy I thought ?
@@scufantic6064 no he gave there brother away so he would have a new male blood line and then gave away the other female kept one and then it passed idk if that makes sense 😅 sorry
I think more died from improper care and he said he sold them that deformity is a calcium deficiency
Am so sorry blake I couldn't imagine how much it sucks to loss somthing u worked so hard on i know I lost a 6 month old lovebird I raised from 2 days old and it was the hardest thing come to find out its liver wasn't formed right
Hi
Looking forward to the new enclosure
Can we get a quail update. We haven’t seen them in so long I want to see how they been doing 👍🏼👍🏼
No wonder they dieing out. Poor things been living in that tiny enclosure for 1 month now. He takes in animals faster then he can actually house them correctly
Exactly! My dwarf hamster has a bigger cage than those otters do.. He needs to make sure everything is ready BEFORE getting an animal..
THIS!! It's exactly why i stopped watching him & unsubscribed months back because i got sick of seeing news animals every week & many being kept in inappropriate enclosures! Now this?! 🤦🏻♀️
Those crows mean Jeepers creepers is gonna wake up soon 😂🤣
Still waiting on the necropsy... It doesn't take this long
blake should watch Aty or Kotsumet otter channels for tips in keeping otters active healthy lifestyle.
Blake shouldn’t own otters.
Blake I love your videos I’ve been watching you for you now and your videos are still amazing
This dude needs to really stop getting animals he doesn’t know anything about. You can’t reals about them on the internet and consider yourself a proper keeper!!! He should have already had a vet familiar with otters and getting regular check up for these babies. Irresponsible! I hate that this guy is influencing others. 😡 Leave exotic animals in the wild where they belong!! These babies were probably stolen from their mother.
I agree 💯💯💯💯! I unsubscribed months ago
My bro Blake can Talk, & Talk, & Talk
So you traded your male for a different male and sold your 2nd female and now the 1st female died? Or do you still have the second female?
Zarmiera, based from his video I believe he traded his male away and 1st female died and sold the 2nd female. So he's left with the traded male
From the initial 3 he had(1 male 2 females), he traded the male for another male. Then he sold one female. The remaining female is the one being talked about in this vid, it died.
The 2nd female died. He only has this 1 male ☹️
Very sorry to hear that you lost the Otter my deepest sympathies....
Sorry about your female too! That's sad. Love and prayers!
How many times a day does Ollie eat? Hope we get more updates, he will be a good ranch mascot 👍
Sorry for your loss ollie is so cute
Your right its cold in Upstate New York Blake LOL but that was crazy I never seen that many crows together.
If u follow him insta then there is no point off ask about the aviary build

Taking care of animals is a lot of commitment,Blake is so committed
Oh look, another RIP video. Great husbandry guys.
It is sad when stuff like this happens but you never see these types of videos normally up that means he his caring for his animals though there can be some casualties you can’t always get what you hope for so I think Blake isn’t in the wrong here
Reveal the KG1 forged wheels! Was trying to get the specs off the box but couldn’t make it out.
I had captions on and when he said he pretty much knows I’m dad it said that he was dead 💀
Good to see videos again !!
Aww so sorry for your loss. I can tell you love your animals very much. Things happen. Oliver is gorgeous.
we bread dogs, and on new years eve we went to go feed the pups they were 7 weeks old so the all had a home we were just waitin for them to be 8 weeks, all pups were runnin around like norm pups. But when we were goin to feed them in the morning one of them was limp as a rag like he was dead but breathing! And since it was new years all vet places were open and my dad was at the store, my dad wasn't answering either! So we r a panicin and eventually we got a hold of a pet hospital, they took him in and he dint make it. They did an Xray and he had Monona (our dog did get a cough be fore this) so we ask the vet to check for any coughing they couldnt here it and the hospital couldn't here it they needed to do an Xray to find it out! he had a shock reaction to the shots they had 4 days. Thx for reading!
I meant all vet places were closed sry typo!
I am seeing a LOT of typos..
It's we BREED dogs. Bread goes on a sandwich.
Ok, please explain what Monona is.. are you are saying Pneumonia? If they were coughing, they should have been taken to the vet sooner.
Please spay your dog.
@Courtney Lynn right! (SMH)
This otter is not moving but this other one is moving
Which one is good?
Blake you are so sweet!!
I’m supper sorry the female didn’t make it but at least you found out the issue. Alle is so beautiful tho and we all now he will be so amazing.
Such a lot of bla, bla, blah. So basically the female otter died through a nutrient deficiency namely calcium in it's diet and it was also born with a hereditary deformity? Sheeesh getting to the point bro was very long winded.. I'm sure you meant well in it's care. All the best with the remaining one. He's very cute 😍
Sorry about your loss bro! We all appreciate your videos and the knowledge you share with them! Excited to see what’s next for Ollie!!!
So sorry for your loss.
One thing I can say should Blake he finna put dat woke in and gonna get the Job done and he gonna give it 💯 percent straight up and for him to be only 20 years old doing the thing he doing now shiii homie doing good 💪🏽🔥straight pressure 💯

Dam bro I remember when you had like 28k subs glad to see how good your channel is doing
So sorry for the loss. I really pray you get him a new partner, or bring back the other girl you had rehomed. Hes such a cutie but you can tell he gets lonely and just wants dad or comfort. As any baby would. Maybe some sort of high watt bulb/ lighting to make up for lack of sunlight when indoors??
I seen the same thing with Seagulls recently flying by .
I thought it was paper floating by way up.
It was 100's flying by. I never seen it before .😳 Specially with them ..
I feel so bad for the baby Otter.
I'm sure you took good care of her .
😔 Sounds like a deficiency to me . I would connect with zoo to get a diet from them. With any animal in the future. This is my 3red edit. Lol
Listen things happen. I saved baby kitten, birds etc and had some die. I blamed myself .What it is now is a lesson learned. If anything you will learn what not to do in future. Sorry again for the loss .
Damn, sorry you lost the one female. It sucks but I am glad Oliver is doing okay. 🙏🏼
you should try feeding Oliver scallops!
Welcome to the ranch where this guy kills or has to relocate most every animal he has. Good job, Blake!
Amen to that
Right?! I stopped watching him months back but check in on latest videos now n then 😕 very Disappointing!
Everyone must be an expert on animal care since you’re judging him. This is one guy who is committed to taking care of animals. One guy who wakes up every morning early and cares for all his animals and stays up late at night to make sure they’re okay and you’re all critiquing him. He uploaded this video so he wouldn’t get all your opinions, so you would understand what happened. I doubt he wants to read your negative comments or how you know much more than him about animals the HE is taking care. He obviously is putting his whole life into taking care of all these animals. He’s 23 and this is his passion. He loves animals. He would never do anything to intentionally hurt them. He’s a human, we all make mistakes. Let him live and learn.
I appreciate you!
Question, let him live and learn? At what expense, the animals? I think maybe he just needs a mentor. To do more research.
To live your dream is not to just jump in like this when lives of animals are at stake.
Some of this isn't people judging him, but will he read the comments and take from them and learn? Instead of getting on his next video with an attitude and driving people away?
Many of these people have suggested some good things for you to maybe look into, not just get a 23 yr old attitude and come at your viewers.
Knowledge is the key. Finish one project before you start another. Yes, you can follow your dream. But know the consequences of YOUR DREAM vs. the world and what you either give back, or take away from it.
@@kimsullivan7397 so he should just stop uploading videos and take care of the ranch in privacy? I’m sure he is taking in information and obviously he said he’s doing his research. If you can do it better then open up your own ranch and show us.
@Jose Perez I used to do wildlife rehabilitation. That was a few years ago. We had mentors. Did animals pass away, yes. Some were babies and starved, mom's hit by cars, etc. We did not BUY THEM. But we were required to know what animals were prone to what diseases etc.
He didn't know that otters were prone to Metabolic Bone Disease, and needed extra calcium. Wildlife thrive on Vitamin D. Most mammals do, unless nocturnal. KMR, kitten replacer was not the answer, do you think a mother otter feeds kitten replacer?
He can tell you anything, but the proof is in the pudding. Yes, some things he had done great at, but he is ahead of himself. Finish your main projects first.
As far as me starting a ranch. I have done my time, over 30 years in wildlife rehab, plus I have worked at a vet's office. I have also rescued reptiles, and domestics. I know his plight.
But I don't, "show off"....
To cut a long winded blabbering mess of a story short, the Otter died from blakes negligence 100%. Once again lack of knowledge and complete immaturity on his part cost the life of this animal. From the comments below I'm glad to see most people have copped on to Blakes serious misgivings and are calling him out. I hope he gets inspected by fish and game authorities, that might make him cop on and grow up. Maybe the vets will report him because of the gross negligence they have just witnessed.
Oh and Blake if you say you are going to show us the vet report, SHOW US then, we can all read, and your little notes were a sad attempt to cover-up your negligence. I bet there was a lot more on that report that you don't want any one seeing too. Shameful stuff but glad to see most people can see through your bullsh*t.
AGREED!!!
Sorry for your loss Blake
