As an 11 year old Pistons fan watching this game live, they were absolutely everything. Through the years where they just couldn't quite get over the hump in 87 to the second title in 90, I wouldn't trade those years for all the yen in Japan.

      You're wrong though.
Nothing tops what Jordan did in game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals.
      Game 6 1998 NBA Finals
The Greatest Minute of Basketball in NBA History. Down 3 points with only 41 seconds left Jordan quite literally did EVERYTHING!!! He scored the quick layup keeping the Bulls hopes alive with 37 seconds left. Next he had the Defensive IQ to act like he was moving with Hornacek but in reality he stayed behind Malone and poked the ball out. If that wasn’t enough he comes down casually and hits THE SHOT ... MJ did it on BOTH ends.
MJ 45 points game winning shot
      Toni Kukoc 15 points
      Pippen 8 points 👀
      Harper 8 points
      Rodman 7 points
      Jud Buechler 2 points

I was 17 watching that Finals. A Los Angeles native, watching it on CBS and listening to Chick Hearn on the radio. I was yelling at my TV cause they couldn't stop Zeke. I could feel that they were not gonna be denied THAT GAME. Zeke was fearless. That was a great Piston team. They only one I hated was Laimbeer, but then most people did.
Zeke is a great story teller. My favorite PG after Magic.

I KNOW what Isaiah went through,breaking/fracturing his ankle!! Im 1998 ,I stepped on my buddys' ankle during a "pickup"game on Charles R. Drew middle scools' basketball court, and BROKE my ankle, going into SHOCK ,after I was picked-up and laid into my other buddies car!! The next morning,I had to report to work at the Detroits' Hudson Building implosion project!! MY workstation was way up on the 24th floor of a building with NO elevators,so,I had to HIKE-up 24 floors on a freshly- BROKEN ankle, and I did so!!! there'd been no elevators in this hulk, since 1983,when the trend towards suburban ashopping centers forced it to close!!

No denying that Thomas was a great player. My issue with him is that he always seems butt hurt that other players in his era didnt like him. The thing is that he knows exactly why, he and the Pistons played dirty. The Pistons did what they had to inorder to win, but you have to know that you are going to make enemies, it comes with the territory.

    • @TommyGibbs1

Because he understands how the media works, the Celtics were way dirtier than the Pistons (Worthy himself has said that) yet they are celebrated while the Pistons were vilified. He’s also experienced fake friends turning on him for the sake of celebrity. So it’s not “butthurt” he’s telling the ‘fans’ this is the truth vs the narrative you’ve been fed all these years
