Yes, he played this with Duane, but this is not necessarily an Allman brother band song. Gotta give due to those who passed, but not at the expense of those still alive. Just sayin'. It’s funny that is your take away from this. There is a storied history of musicians playing other living musicians music...jazz and blues being a huge one. Something tells me Eric is going to be just fine with TTB doing what they do with the music Eric wrote. It just proves that good music is a living, breathing thing. If it wasn’t, tonal westernized music would have died out about 250+ years ago with J.S. Bach.

Derrick never copied Duane, he played around all of Duane’s riffs. It’s a tribute of love and respect…Derrick never assumed himself to be better than those that went before him. Every performance is a tribute to those that showed him the way. He must be an amazing man.
