When we were kids, we all shared bathed water. In same water we bathed one after the another. I day a week we got our bath. I live in USA and I’m 68, so yes long time ago it was ok, we lived and did not hurt us. And I’m sure same practice is going on today in many households. We pay now for our water usage just like electric. Water, sewer, gas and electric costs a lot and is a hardship for many families. I love your shower house and wood fired bath!❤️❤️👍🏻
It's not over the top because it is sturdy, functional and beautiful. It's perfect. The only outhouse I'd ever actually want to use. Your shower turned out perfect too!
@@theindieprojects Rangiora has the largest leaves of any of the tree daisies, up to 25 centimetres long and 20 centimetres wide. The underside of the soft leaf is clad in smooth white hairs. The leaves were used for poultices by the Māori and as a toilet paper substitute by early settlers - hence its alternative name of bushman’s friend. The plant is common in coastal and lowland forest and regenerating scrub in the North Island and northern South Island.
Mullein (mullan, Verbascum thapsus) is a biennial plant with fuzzy leaves. Often called “cowboy toilet paper” or “the butt wipe plant”. Mullein generally doesn’t compete with anything, so it improves the worst soils wherever it goes
The shower/toilet building looks great. Also the finishing touches to the bath. I love the way you have used the stones to make the fire efficient, and draw the smoke up and away through the chimney. You have made some real progress this winter/spring. Have a great trip north!
Absolutely wonderful build there, Theo! Bee, I am so jealous of that outdoor bathtub with the wood burner underneath! It looks absolutely wonderful! You are so blessed to have a place like that. I am surprised you're willing to leave it as long as you're going to be out away from your property. Have safe travels up into the Arctic Circle. We will all be looking forward to the new videos that you will be posting soon.
You Crack me up! Talk about building a Web site for your commercial - you two build everything! LOL, amazing how beautiful the poo with a view is :-) and I've had outdoor showers quite happily, so the bath has to be fantastic. Can't believe it's time to hit the road again - will miss your Portugal property and building adventure. Safe travels! I will gladly follow your travels :-) - Bea, Theo and Gingie Bear. Love sharing life!!!!
I just found y’all’s show and I’m SO jealous! I love your home. I’m the south eastern past of USA, Alabama to be exact. I would LOVE to be able to travel like y’all!!!
How wonderful love it all, totally impressed with the bath nothing better than a nice relaxing bath. Great job Theo so impressed!! Have fun on your travels
Have you looked into building a natural water filter system to recycle the used bath water to use again... not for drinking obviously but to use again in the bath etc?
The spent ash from the wood fire would make a great nutrient to a compost heap - Question;- Does the bath have a plug hole to drain away the waste water?.... would be great if this could feed a vegetable patch? - Stunning build Theo!
Cheers! Yes collecting ash for the compost heap is a fab idea 🙌 eventually we’d like to collect the used water for use in either watering plants or maybe filtrate it for more bath water 😊
Oh! I'm from Norway!! I'm so glad you chose to travel to this country, it's beautiful! I hope you will travel on the coast of Norway and the more remote places in stead of the cities, it's more interesting and beautiful you will not regret it! Safe travels! Just a note, a lot of the roads outside of the big cites are quite narrow, so take it slow, be safe and you'll be fine :D
Thank you! We love Norway and had such an amazing time travelling in there in 2014/2016, we’re not too bothered about cities so will be exploring the mountains and great outdoors 😊
@@theindieprojects Thats great to hear :D There are lots to see in the area where I live (not telling you to go there ofc, but just wanted to say so). I live on the west coast of Norway and I'm surrounded by the ocean and the mountains witch is quite spectacular. I'm planning to get myself a mobile caravan in the future, traveling around Norway, Sweden and Denmark and write, so hearing about people doing just that makes me so exited :D Also, thank you for answering on my comment.
Your Choilet is just fantastic. The bath in incredible. I just love it all. It is freaking amazing. What a lovely place to get clean and take care of business. Hahahaha.
Very nice filming. 👍👍👍 Truly Amazing works you've both done. 👍👍😊😊 A huge amount of work In a very short time. 👍🌟👍 Your futures are going from strength to strength 👍👍🌟🌟🌍👍👍 Best wishes beautiful young ones. 🌟🙏🌟
Mosquitos are such an issue with lettuce leaf types - just setup a rectangularly shaped net covering over bath if needs be... Communing with nature (whatever it turns out to be) is the reason we all want to be away from city life... enjoy the wilds... Big hug from SA...
So very happy for you both ☺😊👍 you both have done an amazing job getting settled. I know with home projects, there's always more.🙂 but you have many, many days ahead of you. So yeah,Awsomeness for you both.😊💞💞 cant wait to see videos of your next adventure. How long are you going to be on the road?
Oh, the spiders you’ll encounter! The wood slats to the toilet - open spaces welcome such creatures, great and small! The next time you use it, move softly and carry Raid!
I made a bath like this but i keep getting bad fumes! I think it's the paint on the bath or the concrete! Does someone has this as well? How can i het rid of this because it smells really toxic! Cheers
Hey guys :) can I ask a little about your land pls. Wondering how you found it (website/local agent), are there planning restrictions like the U.K.? 👍🏼
I am new to your channel and I just love it. Your buildings are lovely and your compost loo is fantastic. I was thinking when you showed your windows, do you not have trouble with mosquito's? as i saw you had no mosquito netting on the inside., that was just my thought any way. I can not wait to see the next video on the shower. I have loads of videos to watch of your travels etc. Have a great day.
next time try hold the water canister 180 degrees from yours so the spout is on top, is easier and faster to empty with out of splashing, goooooood luck
All that grey water used on veggie garden...ideal setup...off-grid is the way to go...
I would love to have an outside bath like this one 😍 imagine taking a bath outside during winter 🥰😍
Of you have at least 2m² yard, you can.
Honestly living the dream bathing outside!! One of my life goals 🤙
It’s truly wonderful hope you get to try it sometime!
Joy Chanter having showered outside, I have to say, it is a wonderful experience...
It's available the world over. just go to s local one.

Thank you! Yeah we don’t have any qualms about sharing bath water either, we’re not covered in manure or anything so it’s really not an issue 😂
absolutely gorgeous buildings. Love the little details so much (like the rustic shelf for the sink/water, and the heather).
Thank you! The shelf is brilliant we love it 😊
It's not over the top because it is sturdy, functional and beautiful. It's perfect. The only outhouse I'd ever actually want to use. Your shower turned out perfect too!
The back in the day they would grow a bush in front of out houses to use leaves as toilet paper,THAT IS A GREAT BUILD!!!
Haha that’s a fantastic idea!
@@theindieprojects Apparently `Corn Husks` make a good alternative toilet paper (if rehydrated with a little water before use)

The Indie Projects pretty hilarious, explains why there was a huge rush on toilet paper in 2020
Everything turned out just lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Paula!
When. I was growing up we used to seeing bathwater and yes used our houses so that tells you how old I am. I’m really enjoying your channel thank you.

Lovely work guys, quick question, does the bottom of the bath develop a hot spot that risks burns?
That is one beautiful Outhouse! Safe journey & Bon Voyage 🤗

Yes we’d like to do that in the future 😊

Thank you! That mirror has been waiting to go somewhere for years 😍
Did you make a video on how you actually made the heat underneath the tub!?!
Neat, it works and is an interesting unique concept
Would absolutely love to do poos there. I'd also have an entirely outdoors composting toilet on top of a hill for warm days. Scenic poos are amazing.
Haha yes good idea 🤙
Great video
Thanks 🤙
Thanks for another nice video. I really enjoyed it.

Nice work guys, looking really good. April 27th that was my bday 😁😁
you share your birthday with a Dutch royal, THE Dutch royal really, "our" King has his birthday the 27th of april aswell
Happy belated birthday!
What did you use for the bottom water stopper?
Oh, the spiders you’ll encounter! The wood slats to the toilet - open spaces welcome such creatures, great and small! The next time you use it, move softly and carry Raid!
When you collect the grey water from the sink, you can use it for watering your garden! 💦🌺🌾🌶🍇🍅
Looks fantastic well done guys 🤞
I would get eaten alive by mosquitoes, they love me. Theo has done a great job with the builds it's all looking great 👍
LOL if you fall asleep in there you will get turned into soup !
When can I come visit? 😂😂🤓🤙🍻
You’ve got to bring your own firewood! 🤣
I made a bath like this but i keep getting bad fumes! I think it's the paint on the bath or the concrete! Does someone has this as well? How can i het rid of this because it smells really toxic! Cheers

That is lavender on the mirror right? Not heather :)
Just a reminder, stop at our house so you can get a proper meal and a view of lovely Hälsingland!

27C is a bit chilly
little hint Theo: that "heather" is commonly known as Lavender ;P
we actually call it "butterfly lavender" in Dutch, that's the one that has a couple flowers sticking out at the top of each little cluster of flowers
He did know he just forgot the name of it when filming 😅 we have so much of it growing here it’s lovely!
Hi guys, wow 😲 love the project they look so cool, just wanted to ask where you’re getting your water from?
Cheers! We get it from our well 😊
How many containers of water does it take to fill your tub?
Roughly around 100litres
27th of April recording? Does your broadband connection takes that long to upload a video?
来啦,期待下次更新,虽然我听不懂,但是我还是特别向往
I think your heather in the bathroom is actually lavender
the color filter of the camera is wrong, the skin looks very red
I would worry if you are not there all will be still there when you get back!
6:49 for the bath tub
11:40 it is
Your toilet is a thing of beauty 🚽🌈
Aw thank you!
How do you not get eaten alive by mosquitoes when you're bathing outside? Other than that, looks amazing!
There aren’t any mosquitos!
Sheesh. Theo puts in all the effort for the bath and Bea takes all the glory. 😆
His effort is rewarded.
Do people come and mess with your stuff while you're gone?
If you guys need a caretaker when your on your travels give me a shout. I love it

I just do
