Love this comparison..... great job. In the morning doing 6 lbs. wings for a funeral. I was gonna use the grill but now I’ll air crisp. Thank you from Texas
I use air fry option for cooking the wings. I put the wings a bowl and pour in some bbq sauce while preheating the grill. Put the wings on the grill and caramelize the sauce. Takes about 3 to 5 mins to caramelize. PERFECT!!
Hi Mark Hobbs, I made a couple of batches of wings the other day in thee NFGrill. I think personally for me-since I like crispy wings and don't use the oil on them is Air Crisp 425 degrees-for about 20 minutes-I used whole wings-as I Iike the little wing tips. So far the best for me. I did try grilling the wings but -I need to keep notes- just not as good. I was just testing the functions out-plain wings are the worst -lol. Thanks Mark Hobbs!
I haven't tried to crisp any wings yet, but I did grill a batch and they came out much like outdoor grilled chicken. I patted mine dry and then sprinkled with lemon pepper seasoning. I used the "grill" function on HIGH per the booklet and only grilled the wings for 15 minutes with a flip at 7 minutes left. The wings came out seared with good grill marks and sufficient char for flavor. I probably could have cooked them a little less since they were very much done. I placed the hot cooked wings in a bowl where I had some butter and hot sauce plus additional lemon pepper waiting. A little shake to melt the butter and then I served them. The wife loved the taste and texture plus the overall process being quick and easy.
RUclips is so great! I have this Grill. I want to make wings and I wanted to see what method would work better grilling or air frying and lo and behold here is the answer on this RUclips channel. Thanks!
I made wings from frozen last night before I watched your video. I air crisped them and they cooked great. I shook the basket a few times and flipped them. At the halfway point I added lemon pepper salt. They were amazing.
I have had mine about 1week still trying out different ways between grill versus air fryer. I think the thing that made me the most happy for having spent that kind of money was baking potatoes in it. Oh my gosh the skin was like crisp potato chips. Pure heaven never liked them in the microwave hated turning on the oven.
This is the only way I make baked potatoes now. Disliked having to use oven for just one or two potatoes. The functions are basically the same just different temps and grill/air crisp basket-different accessories to use. Thanks Bettie!
Thank you. I have tried both ways. Thanks to your video you are quick to the point and I knew right away temp and time for grill function. I enjoy the grill function better with my sams club frozen wings and Frank's hot Buffalo wing sauce. They are not shriveled up.
Good job, but it has been my experience that when cooking chicken if you want color you have to use some sort of seasoning, or coating. If not the chicken will come out pale, unless you overcook them. Something you don’t want to do. I think the crisper method is the better route to take. Good job!👍🏾👍🏾
So true! I like to AC them at 425F if they are plain. Going to try baking powder for a super crispy crust and make a sauce next time. Thanks BIG J 1175!

The ninja foodi grill beats the competion, so you should get one...and be nice to our kind video lady who takes her time to post these great informative video for our viewing.
Wing wars should be an annual event!! Check out the show notes and links for more information and ideas you are a great resource. Love the Amazon store gonna blow my next paycheck there in the Pressure Crisp store !!!!!
Seems to me that it makes sense that grilling would produce a less crisp wing then the air crisp. If u like one over the other it just seems like a preference call to me. Maybe raising the temp on the grill would cook the wings quicker and brown better while keeping the moisture in the wing thus getting the result u r looking for. That's what i do on my regular grill.
Thanks! Will be grilling wings the weekend. On grill HI which is 500 degrees to see if they crisp up better. Bug like you said it’s all personal preference. Thanks!
Lisa could you do a comparison between the Ninja foodi and the Ninja grill? I'd love to see chicken wings cooked on either the air fryer or & grill in both machines.
Thank you, Thank you. You made me late for the Gym. However, it was worth it. I am pretty sure I am going out to buy one. The grill, not one chicken wing. Lol.
The spray bottles that you use for your oils, do you purchase them at a particular store? Are they made for oils, or just multi-purpose spray bottles? I like the idea of using the spray bottles. - Bev
They are made to spray just oil. I purchased them from Amazon here is a link amzn.to/2LF83l3 You can just purchase one or the two pack. You can also purchase them at Bed Bath and Beyond not sure. of the price. And I like the fact that I can flavor my oils and pour into bottle-only hard part is remembering which oil is which lol. I have 4 of them and need stickers lol Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm assuming you checked the Foodi Grill Cooking chart first before you used the Grill function at a LOW heat for 27 minutes. So I have to wonder since like you , i prefer some deep brown color and even char marks on my wings IF I'm going to grill them, and the Cooking Chart says, "cook at HIGH for 10-14 minutes. Have you tried that yet or already? So far I haven't. I get a wonderful DARK and CRISPY wing after 24 minutes , turning every 8 minutes,. I'm eating a lot of them so the Foodi and the Foodi Grille are both in action.
No I haven't tried it yet VOman 07. I will try it soon-I also want to try cooking these wings from frozen as well. I have air crisped them at 400F and 425F and the skin gets darker in color-I like them nice and crispy. Thanks VOman 07!
Thanks. I used this your recipe as a guide. Here is how I changed it. I marinaded my wings in NO sugar pickle brine (water, vinegar, salt, pickle spice, garlic). After a few hours, rinsed and dried and allowed to refrigerate uncovered for a couple hours. Ninja foodi air fried preheated to 400. I sprayed the basket ( perhaps unnecessary) and placed 15 wings in foodi. Flipped at 10 mins, cooked an additional 5 (15 mins total). These are perfect, crisp outside, moist inside, not dry or burnt. I can imagine going for 27 mins. Our were perfect.
I just bought some Frank's Red Hot Original Seasoning Blend and plan to give it a try for air fried wings. I like crispy wings so I'm hoping it will work instead of putting sauce on and then re-crisping them. Came to my go to source for wing cooking tips. Do you think air crisping is better than pressure cooking, then crisping? Seems like it would be but you're an expert by now 😺 Thought I'd see what you recommend. Gotta get to the store for some wings.
I prefer to air crisping wings even from frozen-I just think they taste better. And I like mine extra crispy too. Sometimes I put Franks wing sauce on. and put hem back in and sometimes I don't. My take is when you pressure cook them they lose their shape and are not as crisp. I also turn the temp up to. 400F. to get the crispiness that I want. Now I want wings. lol. Thanks Cattitude!
@@Cattitude48 I have the powder but haven't used it on wings-chicken breast it is good. And I use it for making tortilla chips-tastes really good on the chips. Let me know how you like it.
I haven't done frozen wings but I think it would work. You can grill frozen chciken and meats. I would think you would have to increase your cooking time Hope this helps Rita!

Is there a proper place I may go on your site to ask a question about filet mignon in the FoodiGrillPro? Friends made it for yesterday (grass fed-if that makes any difference)..
@@pressurecrisp I think that answered it..Friends made filet mignon yesterday on my NFG-Pro...did everything correctly & after resting it was tough...that was a first ever with a filet being tough that I've had...they were saying thank you for the loan of the Foodi & they liked it so much they bought one...Thanks for your input-I will try another cut :)
The Ninja Foodi Grill is nice-I am enjoying it. It grills meats up nicely with a nice crust/carmelization. Grilling up vegetables has been great too! Thank you for watching and commenting! What are you making first in your grill?
Hi your wing comparison was in my opinion was flawed, you put the wings on the grill at the wrong temperature, but you put the wings in the air fryer at the correct temperature, the cooking charts call for High temp for wings on the grill, but you used the low setting, but you did use the correct temperature on the air fryer.
Thanks I must have missed the wing temp on the grill. I’ll have to reread the chart- my bad. But grilling them HI- did they produce a lot of smoke from the fat? I haven’t grilled wings on HI yet. Thanks! Thanks for the comment and watching!
Tuku Lais we waited a long time to get an air frier. We got the foodi and are very happy with it. The fry feature, the grill feature (steaks come out great).
It seems. Ninja Kitchen always has new products coming out in August-not sure if you can wait until then. @@pressurecrisp I'm still learning so I'll give your method a try. My concern is the chicken drying out but you said it was still juicy. Plenty of time to experiment during this crazy time. :)
@@joeg3279 they will be a bit drier when you cook them so long-I really need to do a new video on wings. I now AC then on 400F or higher for about 20 minutes. But this is. the way I like them-brown/crispy and they are somewhat drier but a sauce makes up for the dryness.
Thanks coldsooner! Thank you for watching! If you want crispy wings AC in the grill at 425F. 20-25 minutes-I like mine super crunchy! Thank you for watching!
I don't have the Ninja air fryer I do have the ninja Foodi which has air crisping ability. I could do a comparison air crisp on the grill Vs the air crisping on the ninja foodi. Thanks!
I'm going to say that this is not correct temperature for the grill grill... there are other reviews out there where the time has to be shortended because the food is getting to dark to fast. And also test the food at the same time please. The grilled one is cold and the other is nice and warm. Please re-do Thanks.
Agree with you somewhat... Ninja Foodi yes with some items. However I made wings this past weekend in the NFGrill and air crisped them at 425F/218C. and they were crispy like I like them and were actually moist on the inside. I do believe the NFGrill is the better option for air crisping/air frying. But deep frying is always better-lol. Well tastes better! Thanks Todd Jenset!
I have to admit I do deep fry outside in there summer and the fries are so delicious! Cant compare with an air crisper/air fryer! Its kinda like my Smashburger-making it out side is far superior. to trying to do it in the Ninja Foodi or the Ninja Foodi Grill! But during the winter its. the next best thing in your have one of these appliances! Thanks Todd Jenest!
Look good, My husband wants to buy one I just wonder if I can use it with out the oil I’m allergic to oils & fats , I will make sure before I buy it , Great Video
When I grill/cook meats I don't usually use oil. Made wings yesterday and wanted the skin super crispy- I find using air crisp 400F degrees delivers this for me. I followed the directions that they recommend then I do it my way-So yo udon have to add fats to meats. If you bread them it won't be the same without the oil. But plain meats are fine without the oils. Vegetables. will dry out a bit with no oil. This appliance works like a convection oven-it has a fan that circulates the air which dries things out If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. .Thank you Joanne Pereira!
@@sacha2010 If its a sweet BBQ sauce wait until the last 2-3 minutes of cook time or it will burn Kiki J. If I'm using Frank wing sauce I toss the wings with the sauce when there is about 5 minutes of cook time left.
Hi Lisa I like your honesty, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I too like a darker crispier chicken wing, maybe the other wings cooked in buffalo sauce would look better “che “?
Yes, she even says it herself in the video. Her intent was to show the grilling vs crisping cooking method. You do realize that many places that serve buffalo wings cook them with minimal seasoning and then toss them in the sauce afterwards, don't you?
If you cook your wings beyond 165, I don't care what they look like, they're going to be dry and disgusting. Constant references to what they look like is annoying when I can tell they've been overcooked by 100 degrees.

Wing wars should be an annual event!! Check out the show notes and links for more information and ideas you are a great resource. Love the Amazon store gonna blow my next paycheck there in the Pressure Crisp store !!!!!
Thanks! I can purchase more food to cook! Thanks for watching!
Sure! American football season has started. I can make wings for my brother/ lol. Thanks for watching!
Thank you, Thank you. You made me late for the Gym. However, it was worth it. I am pretty sure I am going out to buy one. The grill, not one chicken wing. Lol.
Sorry about that- lol. You will enjoy the grill. Thanks for watching Chris lee!
The spray bottles that you use for your oils, do you purchase them at a particular store? Are they made for oils, or just multi-purpose spray bottles? I like the idea of using the spray bottles. - Bev
They are made to spray just oil. I purchased them from Amazon here is a link amzn.to/2LF83l3
You can just purchase one or the two pack. You can also purchase them at Bed Bath and Beyond not sure. of the price. And I like the fact that I can flavor my oils and pour into bottle-only hard part is remembering which oil is which lol. I have 4 of them and need stickers lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@pressurecrisp I have yet to find another/quicker way to get CRISPY wings better than the Foodi Grill or Foodi Air Fryer.
I have this model and ❤️ it to bits
I also air fry and add a honey soy sauce the last few minutes
Honey soy. sauce sounds delicous!
Thanks! I'll give your. method a try!
@@pressurecrisp Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure how this powder spice blend will taste instead of the sauce but at least it's dry instead of wet.
@@Cattitude48 I have the powder but haven't used it on wings-chicken breast it is good. And I use it for making tortilla chips-tastes really good on the chips. Let me know how you like it.
@@pressurecrisp will do & thanks for the tips
Can I cook frozen in bone wings the same way?
I haven't done frozen wings but I think it would work. You can grill frozen chciken and meats. I would think you would have to increase your cooking time Hope this helps Rita!
Thank you so much.
Thank you, this was a great video!
Thank you so much Sandri Huff! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Where can I purchase the oil sprayer and bowls you use in the video? Thank you in advance.
Thank you. Gladys! Amazon is out of the EVO. sprayers that I use. but here is a link for a different EVO sprayer amzn.to/2RNbyZ3
But also look on Bed, Bath and Beyond website as they carry them. I. can't find an exact match onAmazon for the stainless steel bowls that I use but thee are close amzn.to/2XKsq6L
I like a shallower wide bowl for. tossing tossing wings with sauce and when I peel potatoes or carrots. I think I purchased my stainless steel bowls at a restaurant supply store. thanks Gladys!
I thought about grilling mines but I think I will stick to the air crisp instead. I am making wings tonight.
I think air crisping the wings make for a crispier and brown wing-just my opinion. You can try both ways and see which you prefer. Thanks Kiki J!
@@pressurecrisp I enjoyed the crisp of the air crisp lol.
how would they come out if you use flour and cornstarch on them i'm going to try that
Fantastic of course! They would have more crunch which is always nice and the crunchy coating would hold onto whatever sauce you are using! Delicious!
Im curious about that too
@@tiffaniturner I'll do a video on wings using a coating. Thanks Tiffani Turner!
@@pressurecrisp have you made a video on it yet using a nice crispy coating? Would love to see that too
@@xBboyRewindx I can do it this weekend. Feel like wings.lol
What spray bottle is that
Its the EVO oil sprayer-I just. checked Amazon does not have the. ones that I have but here is a link to another EVO oil sprayer amzn.to/2NJDbA6 The EVO oil sprayers can also be purchased at. Bed, Bath and Beyond-not sure where else. Thanks Dds DS!
Is there a proper place I may go on your site to ask a question about filet mignon in the FoodiGrillPro? Friends made it for yesterday (grass fed-if that makes any difference)..
You can ask here or on Facebook-my website is still a work ion progress. Grass fed will taste different and have less fat. Ask away!
It also depends on how long you cook your beef as well.
I would like to know where I can get large wings like those, local supermarket here has such puny ones
Walmart
Thanks. Good info. Aussie Bob
Thank you Aussie Bob!
Great info.... Just got mine
Great vid, peaked my interest in this machine
Thank you! Watch a bunch of videos and reviews- thanks Tuku Lais!
Tuku Lais we waited a long time to get an air frier. We got the foodi and are very happy with it. The fry feature, the grill feature (steaks come out great).
The first batch wasn't cooked enough. If you use the grill you need a higher heat atleast High or Max
Thanks very informative you're doing a great job I'll purchase one for sure but when the price comes down
It seems. Ninja Kitchen always has new products coming out in August-not sure if you can wait until then. Or. if you. apply. for a Kohls credit card you usually get 30 or 35% off first purchase and see if you can use another coupon towards the purchase. And I think BJ's. has them for 189.00 or 169.00. Just take your time and shop around for the best deal. thanks Christina!
Thank you
Your welcome Josue! Thank your watching and commenting!
Can you try doing sweet potato fries & popcorn shrimp next?
Will try to get to all the requests! thanks Breylan!
I use the air crisper and I've found that 19-20 minutes is plenty of time.
Hey that’s great Joe G! Guess I like mine crispy/ well done. Thanks Joe G!
I might have to get one of those! 😉👍
If you can swing it-definately get one! I love both of them. Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thank you Chocolatensexy72!
I recommend not taste testing a food item over 30 minutes later. Defeats the entire purpose.
Yeah I suggest it too! But only had the one grill. Thanks Chad!😁
Next time grill at 500 degrees for 20 minutes. Much better results.
Thanks Shindana will give this a try next time I make wings.
Thank you very much
Welcome and thank you!
Can you season the meat before you put it in the air fryer or grill?
yes you can. sauces add at the end or towards the end of cooking. Thanks Consuella Wright!
Now we know! Nice.
Thanks coldsooner! Thank you for watching! If you want crispy wings AC in the grill at 425F. 20-25 minutes-I like mine super crunchy! Thank you for watching!
You would normally cook wing on high not med.
Thanks!
I love chicken one of my favorite meals
Chicken is so versatile-its like a blank canvas just waiting for seasonings and sauces. Thanks for watching Wanda Chiames!
you should try doing the wings in the NINJA AIR FRYER thats out there..... compare to the grill machine
I don't have the Ninja air fryer I do have the ninja Foodi which has air crisping ability. I could do a comparison air crisp on the grill Vs the air crisping on the ninja foodi. Thanks!
Pressure Crisp
In your opinion what’s the better bang for buck?
I'm going to say that this is not correct temperature for the grill grill... there are other reviews out there where the time has to be shortended because the food is getting to dark to fast. And also test the food at the same time please. The grilled one is cold and the other is nice and warm. Please re-do Thanks.
Thanks Angela!
How are you gonna have a cook off with these lighskin ass wings? You need some seasoning. We need a do over
Hehehe.....We. can do a do over. in the future. Thanks Shalayna!
My biggest complaint about the “air fryers” is that it seems to over cook the food just to achieve the golden brown color/crunch that we all love.
I’m almost to the point where I would just suffer and deep fry the damn things for 12-15 min! ;)
Thanks Todd Jenest!
you just have to find the right temperature
you just have to find the right temperature I use several different temps when doing my wings
This appliance works like a convection oven-it has a fan that circulates the air which dries things out
If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
.Thank you Joanne Pereira!
When would you add the BBQ sauce. Please and thanks. I like my food, hot, hot. Not cooled by the BBQ sauce..
Add the BBQ sauce the last 5-10 minutes of cooking. Thanks for watching!
@@pressurecrisp Thank you for sharing this, I want mines with sauce and was trying to figure out when to add it.
Thank you for asking this question.
@@sacha2010 If its a sweet BBQ sauce wait until the last 2-3 minutes of cook time or it will burn Kiki J. If I'm using Frank wing sauce I toss the wings with the sauce when there is about 5 minutes of cook time left.
@@pressurecrisp I waited until the last 2-3 minutes instead before I even saw your post. I did use a sweet barbecue sauce myself.

Wow no season on the chicken
Thanks for watching! It. was a test-
Hi Lisa I like your honesty, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I too like a darker crispier chicken wing, maybe the other wings cooked in buffalo sauce would look better “che “?
Every taste better with buffalo sauce-lol. Thank you Jim!

Camera pointed too high. Angle down. Peace.
thanks for the advice! Thanks M ST!
So.... she just not going to season that chicken 😒🤔
Nope-it was a test to see which is better-grilling or air crisping-not seasoning. thanks Kim!
There's something call seasoning
Ahhhh...yes there is Charles but I was just testing. Thanks Charles!
Yes, she even says it herself in the video. Her intent was to show the grilling vs crisping cooking method. You do realize that many places that serve buffalo wings cook them with minimal seasoning and then toss them in the sauce afterwards, don't you?
I appreciate your test because I am researching if I want to buy. Some people sprayed wings with oil to make it more browned
@@natrlchallenge I really haven't noticed a difference spraying with oil. I have increased my. AC temp to 400F and get better results.
So the wings that sat for a half hour and dried out didn’t taste as good as the ones you just made? lol
Thanks for watching!
If you cook your wings beyond 165, I don't care what they look like, they're going to be dry and disgusting. Constant references to what they look like is annoying when I can tell they've been overcooked by 100 degrees.
Thanks for watching!
No salt no pepper something 🤷
Just a test to see which one crisp the wings better-thanks lyndell conley!
Got you 👍 I use the air fryer today so you were right got my ninja yesterday 😁
These wings isn’t seasoned ☠️😵💫
It was just a test
No flavor🙁
It was a test on using the different functions. Didn’t want seasonings or flavors to influence the outcome. Thanks!
