I‘m working in IT for over 20 years. I have the Cybertool since 2003. I love it. In the dayI worked in customer service it really was my EDC, I used it everyday. Thx for you videos!
Hi Jon, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your reviews and the hard work you put into making them informative, interesting and the kind way you deliver them. I must say after watching many many reviews you are one of the best. Please keep the reviews coming.
Good review, just one correction - none of the bits are Pozidriv. All three are Phillips (0, 1 and 2). For some reason Victorinox describes the two smaller ones on their website as “Bit Phillips 0/1 (Pozidriv)”, possibly because you can use a Phillips bit with a Pozidriv screw in a pinch. I own the Cyber Tool M, which to me is the best of the variants. I do not need the saw and file, which would just make the knife unnecessarily big and heavy. And I do not want electronics on my knives either; I would worry about cleaning them with water, and I always carry a better flashlight with me anyway. I would like the magnifying glass, but in the end the camera on my phone does an even better job.
Great feedback Morpheus - and thanks for the correction, I was going by the description in the provided leaflet. Also good point re phone camera as magnifier. I am sure other readers will find this useful.
As an arcade manager, this has been perfect for me. There's really not much to say it's got a lot of things I need 9/10 if I'm walking around the arcade and I see an issue I've already got the tool in my pocket I don't need to run to the office and dig through the tool box.i even use the tiny screw driver to set dip switches.
I love this victorinox, very nice for pc assembly and i even once opened a xbox with it. Has been very handy over the years. Lost one bit and recently broke one, replacements are a bit expensive.
I only discovered about the pin a couple of months ago on my Victorinox Camping, didn't have one but did have the space for one. Purchased 2 pins, 1 spare, and can say its probably one of the most useful tools on any pocket knife! Love your reviews, keep up the good work!
If im honest SAKs are why i came to the channel, them and Olight torches. I stayed for an English accent and UK £ pricing and the concise reviews. I have titanium scales on my cybertool but as hinted at above i always have a torch so i don't have any lite models. It's probably as a collector of well over a 100 SAKs in my top 5 Swiss Army Knife models
Well, I don’t really have any interest in this tool, but love watching your reviews. I learn something useful every time. This was no exception. Didn’t know about the pin. And I haven’t tried the Victorinox hook, but the similar hook on my Gerber Travel Dime was invaluable opening a broken backpack zipper.
I’d like to point out that the eyeglass driver has a 1/4” hex handle and can be fitted to a standard 1/4” bit driver for a better grip. Great vids, btw.
Great review! I've had the original version from 2000 received as a gift. I've used it consistently for over 20 years and it never disappoints. That said, some newer versions you've shown have me looking online for an upgrade!
Daily living: Can openers are not for the field anymore. They are for people like me who will eat fruit and veggies from the can when on the road (cheap) . Few people carry canned foods to the field anymore with all the other container options. Toothpick is also necessary for eating away from home (the apple skin stuck between teeth ha). The scissors is the only tool I use on my fingernails since a file is not needed after unlike when I used clippers. The tweezers works better than any other tweezers on tiny slivers. The magnifying lens for seeing the micro slivers and reading fine print. So I beg to differ on any of those tools being for field use but rather for those of us that spend our day away from home without a travel bag with toiletries and such. I enjoy your reviews and hope that when you say something is not needed on a particular model that it is regarding you and your life or situation. Afterall, for most of us MacGyver types, the multi took is for multi situations :)
Had a great time watching you, as always 😊 I really like it when you show an actual use of the tools, ad you have done in some of your other multi-tools review. I think it adds a lot 👍 Have a great weekend, Sir
Great review Jon! Fantastic job on reviewing the whole line of Cybertools. L model is the one for me and after this review my shopping basket just got heavier ) it pretty much minimises my current setup into a single tool. Now I got the following tools in my EDC: Knipex Cobra XS (that one is preps irreplaceable) BIG idea design Bit Bar Tec Accessories pocket Pry TwoSun Ti Pen Vix Compact One thing I'd do to a Cybertool L is switch translucent scales to titanium ones and add a Ti pocket clip from TecAccessories and be jolly and happy ever after. As a knifenut I have a question - can you get a T6 bit as well from Victorinox to add/substitute to the setup? Thanks again. Great job!
Hi Jonathan, I always enjoy your reviews. I was a computer tech, back in the day and I have owned, used and abused my original blue scaled CyberTool (now known as CyberTool M) for the past 20 years. I personally don't need the magnifying glass and light, but would like the saw, file and chisel that also come on the CyberTool L, however, I don't like the placement of the tools on the L. The bit driver is way off centre on that model. You say that for a tech tool, you don't need the saw and file, or can opener for that matter. What I would like though, is a tool that covers tech, urban and outdoor, all in one SAK. I have purchased a Ranger, which I plan to remove the saw and file layers from, thus downgrading it into a climber, which I'll probably never use. I will then add these layers to my Cyber M, turning into an L special, with the bit driver centred. I already have the required 2.2mm and 2.5mm brass rods to make the new pivots. To me, this will be the ultimate SAK. It will miss the fish de-scaler and 3D Phillips of the Champ and the aforementioned mag-glass and torch of both Champ and Cyber L, but none of those are losses to me, compared to having bit driver, file, saw and chisel. Each to their own.
Wonderful review! I have been binging quite a few of your videos today and subscribed. I edc a Cyber Tool M with custom scales that have a ruler and an extra slot which allows for the addition of a firefly ferro rod without having to remove the tooth pick. I find the Cyber Tool M offers a versatile tool-set while remaining significantly more pocket friendly than the Cybertool L or Cybertool Lite. While I also own a Cyber Tool Lite, it mostly stays in the drawer because I edc an Olight baton and my cell phone has a built in magnifier.
I have had a cybertool since they came out,but a few years ago, I upgraded to cybertool lite, and although not a daily carry, it lives at home in a draw and has been very handy at times ! In fact it's I believe one of the best around the home models available?
Great review, had one for years, gets used every single day. The "M". If I lost it I'd buy another within a week. I would say having lost one of the bits, I had a mare finding a replacement, I paid £15 (not £3!) and it came all the way from France. Hunted high and low. (Never used the can opener :) )
Great review as always. I’ll admit to being somewhat of a collector as I have all of the Cybertool models. My preference is the large which used to be the Cybertool 41. I actually prefer over the Swisschamp because many of my other knives and gear use torx screws and it’s great to be able to tighten and loosen them in the field. By the way, the Cybertool L/41 has the backside tools like the Swisschamp so there is that plus as well. Love your videos and can’t wait for the next one.
As a sysadmin who used to be in charge of deploying mobile phones for users, the pin is a very valuable tool to swap sim cards because everyone always loses the ones that come with their phones.
My Swiss Champ with black scales is apparently an old fogey in the lineup. No parcel hook on the back, and no opening for a pin. It has the gray plastic frame for the magnifying glass too. I've been carrying it for many years. Until I started watching these videos, I didn't even realize they added things like the pin and parcel hook.
I’ve used the cyber M since it came out as my prime EDC. I have a dozen other knives, but nothing else like it. And yes, electronics engineer with lots of field work
I had a Cybertool 41, now called an L, for quite some time and I loved it. Eventually I got rid of it because I never used the saw or file, but the Lite might be the way to go. I hate the button cell batteries, but they are readily available. Makes me wonder if they couldn't be replaced with some type of rechargeable unit from a keychain flashlight.
protip: you can put a rubber band on the pliers and make them into a sort of vice grip. great for holding a wire in place for soldering, or clamping a fish hook to tie it, and things like that.
Hello, Jon - my complements to you for the thoroughness of your review...I especially enjoyed your discussion of the related models of this particular tool, good information to know...thanks! btw, do you find the wire cutter in the pliers useful in the applications you were discussing?
Hi Edgar - many thanks for the feedback - the are no wire cuttters in the pliers just crimpers - these are of limited use (need to apply some strength) but do work if needed.
Thanks, Jon - the reason I asked is that I have a wire cutter at the base of the pliers in my Swisschamp above the crimpers...you really can't cut wire of any significance with it, but such a tool would be ideal for the applications you were demonstrating...also, the wire stripper can additionally be used with the pliers as a wire bender...thanks again for your good work...
just got the cybertool m, I am planning to split it into 3 tools: pliers, screwdriver, awl and the blade section (replacing the large blade for a file, small blade is enough for my needs). the can opener etc section with the corkscrew (easy enough to move) and scissors with the hook. I will print some scales for it but I think that will be the best combo I can have, will probably end up ignoring the can opener section but having scissors and pliers operable by different hands is useful imo. Looking forward to replacing a few tools I carry with it.
Hi Jon, I was away so, I have to catch up with your vids. Cibertool is also a niche tool, but there is Victorinox for everyone and that's great. About the can opener, it is redundant on this model, but it has this classic look. And actually I still use it to this day. By the way just got my Handiman back from Victorinox Warranty service, and I have to tell you, they're warranty is great. It is like new. I have sent my Rebar for second replacement, because the small screw driver broke. I am thinking of making a video about the warranty of the deferent manufacturers, because I have tried few of the major manufacturers, and they stand behind their products. Cheers my friend, hope you had some time off 👍
It is a very well made and useful tool set. The only problem I encounter is that the light frequently turns on by accidental contact between the switch (which is actually quite exposed) and another service when you are carrying the knife day to day. I often found therefore that when I went to use the torch the batteries were flat. There is a simple solution to this problem. Reverse one of the battery cells. They are easily accessible and it does not take long to reverse back again when you want to use the torch.
I am not the target audience (although I have a Waiter and a Huntsman), but I enjoyed your review nonetheless! Crazy to put two screwdrivers in the XXL, it really makes it look like a novelty purchase for collectors only. PS. That's what they're calling it too on their website: "A perfect collector's piece" 😄
Thank you for all of your interesting and informative presentations. You always add an additional dimension when describing Swiss Army Knives. I always check your channel first for new product reviews. Again, thank you.
Bravo Jon, great review, short succinct, and to the point. Question, depending on one's carry method, is there a chance of the light somehow being accidentally turned on when carried in a sheath, be it a Victorinox or aftermarket? Also, what is the width in comparison to the Swisschamp? Plus what material is the bit carrier constructed of.. One last thing, you're not old mate, have a pint at the pub, and watch a rerun of "On the Buses" on me.. Cheers!
These are the tools I need. A few of them like the hook, will probably never be used. The M in blue would be awesome but I can't find it. The scissors, bit driver, the small flat head in the corkscrew, the tweezers, and the knife blade is what I need the most, but the pliers, lite, and the magnifying glass would be useful sometimes. I would get the M and that's what I was looking for but it's so close to the price of the lite, I might as well get the lite. Thanks for the video. It really made me think of everything I could use the tools for.
Hey, Jon! I viewed your rewiev about half a year ago. The Cybertool Lite seems for me one of best Victorinox to bought my first SAK. Now, on april, 2023 I cant search this knife anymore, anywhere. Is Cybertool Lite model discontinued?
I personally love my cybertool l as edc The package is completed with knipex cobra, my victorinox minichamp, my zippo and two flashlights from a german brand called led lenser
I had to send mine back to Amazon as the batteries were flat. The batteries were already installed in this. Was this same with you? Not sure if I want to buy it again because of the limited selection of bits. I thought it would be good for rc but need more hex sizes. Idk.. The pliers are good. The scissors were surprisingly rough to use. I wonder why they couldn't build the led in the scale. My midnight manager is fantastic! Everything I need day to day close to hand and lightweight 😌
Great review! Thanks a lot. One question: Are the bits held in the driver socket by magnetism or by friction? The reason I ask is that I often work on machines sensitive to magnetism. If the bits would be held in place by friction the Cyber Tool would an option for me.
A friend has a Cybertool and has found that the transparent scales don't seem to really securely retain the scale tools over time quite like the cellidor ones do. Perhaps they are not flexible enough?
I want one so much! Is it true that the cybertool lite is discontinued? I can't find it in my local Victorinox seller 😢 and online prices are getting very expensive.
Imo the Cybertool 34 (second thinnest) i build a couple of computers, and those tools are prettymuch exactly what i use from my IFixit Kit The small plies are ideal for plugging in and out fan headers or Sata Cables!
I recently got a SwissChamp, and I think my favorite “new to me” tool on the knife is the pliers… I find them very useful. …but the SwissChamp is too heavy for EDC, so I’m looking for a smaller knife that includes the plier… so as far as I know, my options are only the Deluxe Tinker and CyberTool. the Tinker is missing the corkscrew, though, and the CyberTool might again me too big, so I can’t decide 🤷🏻♂️ and I wish they’d change out the smaller knife blade for the new small file on the new Companion, and maybe give me an option for just the phillips head/LED light lager, rather than the multi-bit driver system, and that might just be my perfect 91mm SAK 🤔
Hi Misho - I mean to do an Evo comparison at some point but for a version with scissors it will not be as thin as the 2-layer Compact - which is a key benefit of the Compact for EDC.
A friend of mine has something the same as this one but wait it's actually got a cigarette 🚬 lighter on it 😂 can you believe it and the cigarette lighter still works perfect on believable 😂🚬 i didn't realize it was a cigarette lighter on till i saw the box it had a picture of it lighting on the box as a smoker i love it saves having a lighter on you all the time when you can have it in your pocket knife plus it's got all the tools of a Swiss army knife it's a fantastic little bit of kit I'm just trying to figure out when it was made because I've not seen any reviews for it thanks for sharing this one with us that bit driver works fantastic i really like it fantastic review of a fantastic tool 👍🏻
@@JonGadget o yea it's definitely a victorinox do you know how i know because it says victorinox on the big blade😊at first i really thought it wasn't a victorinox but yea it says it on the big blade also on the box it says victorinox i didn't realize it had a cigarette lighter on till i saw the box I've come across something the same as it on a channel called White glove reviews he reviews a lot of Swiss army knifes and he also has something the same with the cigarette 🚬 lighter 😊 Go over and have a little look see what you think about it thanks Jon 👍🏻
Victorinox don't do one - aftermarket modders might but I've not seen one on a Vic - there are other makers who include a comb but quality does not look that good!
wish they sold this with insulated scales... still have the old model cybertool 41 (discontinued now) and can confirm a few minor electric shocks while using it... ouch😶🌫😖

I like the can opener, and bottler opener. It's my preferred edc sak. It has everything I could need.

Nice review!!, the cybertool lite it's an amazing tool!
Thank you 🙏 - I agree it is really great
What I need as a tech is a snip tool rather than scissors to cut cable ties.
So: snips, screwdriver, pliers, torch
I like how he describes the difference between phillips and pozidriv, and then shows a phillips driver but calls it pozidriv.
Thank you for all of your interesting and informative presentations. You always add an additional dimension when describing Swiss Army Knives. I always check your channel first for new product reviews. Again, thank you.
that's great to hear - thank you 🙏
Great review, thank you!
Nice video, great review
thank you 🙏
Bravo Jon, great review, short succinct, and to the point. Cheers!
XXL is mainly for collectors, Victorinox themselves market it as such
These are the tools I need.
Excellent video and review.
Hey, Jon!
I viewed your rewiev about half a year ago. The Cybertool Lite seems for me one of best Victorinox to bought my first SAK.
Now, on april, 2023 I cant search this knife anymore, anywhere.
Is Cybertool Lite model discontinued?
Thank you for review. I have one, M size, without flashlight. It ia very good tool. Any ideas how to carry it?
Have you looked at the SwissQlip?
I personally love my cybertool l as edc
The package is completed with knipex cobra, my victorinox minichamp, my zippo and two flashlights from a german brand called led lenser
great mix - I have had lenser - moving focusing beam I seem to recall on mine - good quality
Friction. They have a small ball detente in the centre of the bits, they’re not magnetic.
the 2nd driver of the xxl does have a different set of bits in the holder.
that makes sense 😁
Thanks for the info
I badly need one of these!!!!
A friend has a Cybertool and has found that the transparent scales don't seem to really securely retain the scale tools over time quite like the cellidor ones do.
Perhaps they are not flexible enough?
interesting - I will look out for that!
I would use the lifetime guarantee if that happens to me.
I have been trying to get this but it's not available here. Only the Cyber Tool M is available here. So I'm considering buying it.
Still a great option I would say and a bit more compact 👍
@@JonGadget thank you!
I want one so much! Is it true that the cybertool lite is discontinued? I can't find it in my local Victorinox seller 😢 and online prices are getting very expensive.
It appears only to be available in Japan.
excellent info, thanks
you're welcome Tim
Are different bit sizes available to buy and swap? Thank you.
Thanks for a very interesting video👍
The plastic toothpick could be used to flip dip switch’s or
as a nonconductive probe in fine electrical work
good point 👍
Imo the Cybertool 34 (second thinnest) i build a couple of computers, and those tools are prettymuch exactly what i use from my IFixit Kit
The small plies are ideal for plugging in and out fan headers or Sata Cables!
Of all the Victorinox u have..which is your ultimate fav for EDC?
Hi Nick - the Compact - I have a review earlier on the channel which explains why 👍
I recently got a SwissChamp, and I think my favorite “new to me” tool on the knife is the pliers… I find them very useful.
…but the SwissChamp is too heavy for EDC, so I’m looking for a smaller knife that includes the plier… so as far as I know, my options are only the Deluxe Tinker and CyberTool. the Tinker is missing the corkscrew, though, and the CyberTool might again me too big, so I can’t decide 🤷🏻♂️
and I wish they’d change out the smaller knife blade for the new small file on the new Companion, and maybe give me an option for just the phillips head/LED light lager, rather than the multi-bit driver system, and that might just be my perfect 91mm SAK 🤔
How many Lumens is the CT lite's torch?
how big is it compared to the huntsman?
I used the pliers to swap out a rather LARGE power supply in a supercomputer featured in a trade show. Little tool, huge payback!
I want ask your opinion about Victorinox evolution 16.
Isn’t it better than Victorinox Compact?
Hi Misho - I mean to do an Evo comparison at some point but for a version with scissors it will not be as thin as the 2-layer Compact - which is a key benefit of the Compact for EDC.
i want more Victorinox tools with replaceable driver bits!
I already have the swisschamp, that' why i bought the cybertool M and not the L 😊.
Ignorant question: just got a Huntsman. Could I replace the tooth pick with a pair of tweezers?
you should already have tweezers! tooth pick and tweezers cannot be swapped (different shape at the top)
@@JonGadget Ha! Would ya look at that! I kept thinking it was the tooth pick I kept looking at. Thanks! Great videos, BTW.
Nice but big carry maybe in bag
That sounds fascinating William - is it a Victorinox?
@@JonGadget o yea it's definitely a victorinox do you know how i know because it says victorinox on the big blade😊at first i really thought it wasn't a victorinox but yea it says it on the big blade also on the box it says victorinox i didn't realize it had a cigarette lighter on till i saw the box I've come across something the same as it on a channel called White glove reviews he reviews a lot of Swiss army knifes and he also has something the same with the cigarette 🚬 lighter 😊 Go over and have a little look see what you think about it thanks Jon 👍🏻
@@name5949 I'll check it out, thanks for the info - sounds really interesting - hang on to that one!
I just discovered this channel and now I'm over $200 poorer. But I'm gonna really enjoy my new knives when they arrive. ;-)
er....sorry about that 🤣 I think you will be happier though now 👍
Just get one of them all. That's really the only satisfaction.
I like the base, the base I like the buttery biscuit base.
er......?
Jon, is there a comb attachment that one could buy to install? Really enjoy your videos even if the model is not my cup of tea.
Victorinox don't do one - aftermarket modders might but I've not seen one on a Vic - there are other makers who include a comb but quality does not look that good!
wish they sold this with insulated scales... still have the old model cybertool 41 (discontinued now) and can confirm a few minor electric shocks while using it... ouch😶🌫😖
My edc is SwissChamp XLT it's bigger than the one you have
bigger than the one shown? they must have changed over time!
@@JonGadget but the one you have really kool I really like it
Greatest vídeo.
Do you know swiza swiss?
Lord bless you.
yes - review in the pipeline - Felix Immler has compared in recent video also
