    Slight correction about the Habaneros: 350'000 SHUs for Habs is very much the upper end that is very unlikely to find. They're usually closer to 150k, especially since you seem to be using orange ones, these are probably the most stable variety of Habanero. If you can get them, Madame Jeanettes are on the same heat level, but much more fruity and sweet in their taste. They always remind me of Mango. If you want 350k, Scotch Bonnets are more likely to hit that level. Source: The 1 lb of peppers I eat each week of this heat level. I know, I'm insane ^^
    With Thai Chillies, the range is much smaller, most Annuum Pepper Varieties are pretty stable with their heat level, probably around 70k.
    Also a tipp for spice lovers who want to try making Curry with Chilies: Make extra and store it in the fridge for up to 4 days, and the heat will actually increase and all the flavors become stronger.
    But you did well in respecting the heat, spicy food is great up to the very point where it is too much. Always ease your way in to find what your sweet spot between taste and heat is.

    • @CHEFPKR
      @CHEFPKR  Год назад +30

      Appreciate the clarification! I had thought the Habs would be more spicy to me versus the Thai chilies, but it probably had to do with the amounts.

    They do also make those weights where they are a powder inside instead of solid bars. So far as I have ever found you can't get super heavy ones in the powder form but if you want something to be able to actually wear and train with all day they are what you want.

    • @sentaukrai
      @sentaukrai Год назад

      Correct. Also the leg weights with bars tend to be more stable and rest along the entire shin/lower leg, not just the ankle, so the weight is more evenly distributed. More expensive, but definitely worth it.

    To anyone wanting to incorporate leg weights into their workouts, definitely start low and work your way up. Exceeding ten pounds per leg is likely overkill regardless of your individual strength. The way the weight drops on your ankles could still cause damage over even a short term. If you do choose to utilize more weight (6-10lbs) consider leg weights which can distribute the weight more evenly over your entire shin, not just your ankle, with top and bottom straps to keep the weight from sliding around as much.

    One question I have is when dry spices need to be bloomed or dry roasted? Is that only for "serve right after cooking" situations?
    I remember reading that weights on limbs (ankle and wrist) is generally not recommended compared to a and even distribution like a weight vest, or resistance training in water. Limb weights causes incorrect muscle memory and increases chance of injury (both when weights are on, and when weights are off due to incorrect muscle memory).

    Soooo.... a few things. First, gor my pre-order in but still no update on shipping. Any etas on that one. Second, I laughed at the cool running quote. Third, and probably most important, where can I get that sage mode hoody?
    I have a son who's birthday is coming up and he would be completely gaga over it. Thanks in advance!

      We are in the process of getting the books printed! Please be patient with us as self publishing does have it's ups and downs (but they are coming!)
      I snagged it in Amazon surprisingly! It's not the best material, but it's great for under $30
