Thanks mate! You got the right attitude! Actually, you need a masters degree even to be a pre-school teacher. Every school is not like this one, I mean this has to be a bigger "city" school, cause the smaller "country side" schools do not have their own ice hockey ring or play stations, instead they use the public facilities or they "make" something similar by them self, like we made our own ice skating and hockey "arena" just by frozen the football field using only volunteers/other students . But all the basics are the same. They can use their money for something else. But no system is perfect and the World is changing fast and unfortunately not for a better one. Best Regards from Finland!!
Thank you for educating us
@@spoonzor1 The schools surely get the same amount of money. That you can rely on. It was then up to the municipal persons to decide how to use the money. Maybe more new books/better food/more teachers were emphasized on that year.
No school uniforms in Finnish schools.
Every school costs tax-money, but is free for the students. In Finland taxes are progressive (the richer pay a higher % of their income to the authorities. Every time you buy something from a shope you contribute to taxes, no matter how poor you are - that WAT is the same % of the price for all.
Recess (pause, breakes) is very important - 40/45 min for leassons and minimum 15 min breaks in between. Younger children get up and jump or dance at their desk every now and then during lessons.
Two lessons can be combined if they involve movement - like an exploring walk in the nature near by.
Finland is NOT as homogenous as people make it out to be - there are two equal official languages, there are many minority languages and minority religions, the different regions have different traditions and dialects. Also there are schools that operate in other languages than Finnish, most of them are Swedish-speaking with a lot of Finnish on the curriculum. That's normal. Special schools have to follow the same concepts as all other schools, but can add something special - but that is not very common, but traditionally there has been French, German, English, and Russian schools in the Capital, Helsinki, and a few devoted special themes, like Montessori or Steiner.
There are also norms like for what you cannot do as a parent or teacher - for ex, you cannot bring gifts for the teachers. But a parent can engage in other ways in the school, but with no privilege for rich parents. Teachers make efforts to learn to know each student individually. It is normal that younger children, to 100% evaluate their own teacher as "the best teacher in the world" - that's cute!
I'm happy that you evaluated Finnish school so positively - it is all it takes to make a Finn's day! Thanks a lot!
Not just high school teachers have masters, all teachers.
Go Winland!!!
Here everyone gets a good education, not just the brats from the rich families, thats really important!!!
Bro, I did intensive research on finland this week for at least 7 hours. I was mavelled to see that finland is one of the countries that has 100% literacy rate. Funny enough, even the United states ain't among those that have 100% literacy rate. I don't in any way, doubt the quality of their education. Much respect to Finland.✌💯
Situation has been changed after this video, now we have schools here with more than 50% of students who are from far away countries, they have problems with reading and writing. The parents most likely came here because of our generous social benefits, they walk here through 10 safe countries, but law says they have to seek asylum in first safe country. Also these same schools have have higher rate of violence. Then we have these immigrant teenage gangs who rob and stab random people in the streets, police can't do much because most of them under legal age of 16, not allowed to give jail time.
Oh that doesn’t sound good… can the migration be regulated ?
@@vibewithjudeo it could be possible, but our leftist woke government love them and love to spend our tax money to their healhcare, houses, food and everything else, native finns will get nothing. That's why flow of people continue strong. They don't need passports, they can give fake name, they just say "asylum" and everything is done for them. Earlier when all people needed covid passport or proof of vaccine to travel, these people didn't need anything, even today I am not allowed to travel to U.S. because don't have proof of fully vaccinated.
50% what drugs are u taking?
@@spoonzor1 yes, in some cities we have schools where 80% of students can be from middle east or africa, of course they have difficulty to read and write, our language is very difficult to master if you are not born here.
We don't wear school uniforms man 😂
Otherwise much love n props
Hahahaha, that was me struggling to make a thumbnail n a search on google for Finland schools gave me that… I appreciate you letting me know
the effects of immigration just haven´t kicked in yet.
Behind the Finnish Education is one of the highest tax systems on Earth. The Finnish state's vampiric thirst for revenue is... epic! Are you (Americans) ready for that? I'm afraid but the answer to this question is: No (Not in this Universe), The vast majority of billionaire Finns don't pay their taxes in Finland. It's that simple and sad. The Finnish tax system is supported by some of the largest and best educated middle classes in the world today. Carry on dreaming!
