    This last time I used it, it was extra dusty. I had some spare foam tape that i added to the lip and it greatly reduced the dust. Start slow so it gets is starting track in the cut or else it will stall and unravel the blades. The clips that hold the spring chamber broke when I pushed on it too much, but it still works.

    This is an awesome, simple, and safe tool for cutting perfect holes without creating a huge mess. It also limits how deep you can cut preventing damage to pipe and wiring that are near the surface being cut.

    How far does the drill bit extend beyond the blades? I have to cut a hole in drywall that has a PVC pipe right behind it for a bathroom light fixture. Thanks.

    Hello from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪. I had one of these back in the early 2000s it was used for audio Applications ceilings speakers were the order of the day. My one went up to 12 inch’s for bass ceiling speakers. I can’t find something that will do the same job.

    I was putting mine together to see how it works I put the drill bit in and I did not put the cutters in and now I can’t pull it apart. It is all ready to use but the blades are not in. It is totally stuck, how do I pull it apart?

    I'm looking to cut a 6" hole in my cargo van to fit a porthole window. Would you recommend an adjustable hole saw? or fixed hole saw? would they even be able to cut through sheet metal? Cheers.

      No. These do not cut through anything but plaster and gypsum based products.

    Can you use this on a pre existing hole to make a hole bigger?

      No, it will not work in that application. You can however mount a piece of wood in your current hole to start the drill bit into.

    Do you know if this could be used to cut circles from a thin layer or cork?

      Yes I think that would probably work. It may pull some of the cork apart. The best thing I could think of doing is sharpening the small knives on it for a cleaner cut.

    Can it be used to expand an existing hole? For example converting a hanging light to a can light.

    Can this hole saw be adjusted to different sizes such as 4 1/4” or 6 3/8” or just 2”, 3”, 4”...7” only.
    Oh wait, just saw the packaging which stated 1/4” increments. Thanks for sharing.

    Out the box it's not sharp.
    I tried using it on 5/8 drywall and it struggled.

    Cut 4 holes in my ceiling and the blades are already flat, and catches on the edges causing tear out. .

      Wow, I had great luck with the tool! You should be able to sharpen them fairly simply

      TheDurbinCompound I wish it were that simple. The blades are literally ground down almost an inch shorter than they were new! They didn’t just dull. Anyway, going to see if it can be returned tomorrow - if not, I’ll be contacting Milwaukee. No tool should require as much maintenance as this would.

      I’ve use this all the time. I’ve never had a problem with it. Used it last night with no issue. Just need to have reasonable expectations of what it is designed for and use it according.
