We used to hang out here in Dylan's cafe, Shillong cafe, ml05, munchies, living roof. We fought over game of uno. we used to sing songs and dance like no one was watching in living roof. Those bicycle rides in MLO5 and teaching a fren of mine who didnt know how to ride, how scared she was... I can hear those laugh, we were so loud.... Nostalgic. For vegetarian North East may somehow disappointed you. But for Non Veg people, north east is a heaven. Only if you wish to try beyond chicken tandoori or chicken masala or Butter chicken. You will find every non veg edible stuff over here in North East from snails to Pork.

You missed Swish Cafe! It is one of the first cafes in Shillong and it is freakin awesome! It is also the first cafe in Meghalaya to have a smoking section and non-smoking section. It's in Laitmukhrah. All the cafes you went to are pretty new.

I am here in Shillong for quite sometime and I really love the cafe inside the NEHU region... My Cafe is a must try, love the beautiful interiors and the food here.
1.The Grub cafe and bakery 2. The reid diner These two are my personal picks apart from 'Cafe Shillong'. Both of them are located in Laitumukharh itself.
Girl, you've barely just scratched the surface in terms of what the NE has on offer ! I hope you had a good time and that you come back for more. Many other places might not be as easy going and chill as Shillong but are definitely equally if not more scenic. And every video like this one I guess also plays it's small part in bridging the mental gap between the mainlanders and us so, yeah kudos !
There are a few more Cafes in Mawlai Mawroh area & still some more even on the outskirts of shilong... Some of these cafes serves Boiled potatoes with fresh cabbages (or/& with some other green leafy veg), and you can munch these with dried meat and Tungtab(a Khasi chutney).... Worth a try... Anyway thnx a lot for visiting Shillong... Youre always most welcome again...

hey... you explored quiet a bit... of my four years experience in Shillong.. being a student of nift Shillong i liked few places to.. hope you might like... 1. i loved alllll the shacks of Shillong... specially the shack at negrims hospital.( better be Thursday, the best is chilly chicken and fried rice... and if you are OK with pork then you can try dohjem and dohkhley) 2. i see that you have been to munchies ( the lucy juicy burger and the cheese Maggie is the best) 3. dont you forget to have some munch at Swish Cafe and the Irish coffee is great 4. hotel Poinisuk serves great beverages and the ambiance is awesome there 5. Cloud 9 is a very good place for partying and you can order there Chicken satay but mention them to get it from the resturant above. there are places more like City hut Dhaba and Bonbay Bites ka chilly baby corn... but Khublei shibun for now... Siathi mohh
One thing I have noticed is that you are probably a vegetarian (assuming from the kind of food you have ordered are all vegetarian) and North East including Shillong is predominantly a non-vegetarian's paradise, you might not have got too many options for vegetarian food. I really appreciate that you haven't complained about it even once. Your videos are really great to watch. Your screen presence and monologues captures the attention of the viewers. Wish I could tag along with you as your videographer (I am a photographer actually) and be team. Sigh!

one suggestion please don't call shillong as scotland of east. You can call scotland as "shilliong of west" . Because indian culture and civilization is way acncient than western culture. one suggestion please don't call shillong as scotland of east. You can call scotland as "shilliong of west" . Because indian culture and civilization is way acncient than western culture. When india was civilize all those western countries used to live nomadic life in cave and used to consume raw meat.
