Such a clever idea! And the possibilities here are endless. How about hot-gluing layers of fringe to the slap bracelets? Or cutting the cuffs off an old men's shirt and gluing them on. Would add a really cool detail to a cosy sweater. Or adding the feather slap bracelets to the bottoms of a pair of skinny jeans? They look secure enough to stay around an ankle. Great video as always Orly!
I was thinking at the bottom of skinny jeans too. Especially if you have cute heels or ankle boots on and you can make them look like they have feathered tops. I must make this bracelet
My wife made something like this with slip bracelets for our daughter when she was around 8 or 9. She now 11. But they were for her combat boots. She bejeweled them or put fabric. It went around the ankle part. It was like jewelry for her shoes. She liked it cuse it wasn't permanent, it was changeable. She also weared them with her flats made them look like the were part of her shoes. My wife gunna love your idea. Ty
Insider tip: My kids pulled their slap bracelets apart and it was legit just pieces of an old metal retractable tape measure, still had the numbers on and everything 😆
We can all agree Orly inspires at every turn. I think we can also agree that the vibes from this video have us all turned up a couple extra notches. I probably have a dozen slap bracelets in the kiddos' drawer of old party favors! Woo hoo! Let the feather frenzy begin!
This is such a great idea to get that street style look of feather cuffs and you might even be able to slap these around the ankle. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
Oh I love this!! And these would work on ankles, too. The one thing that stopped me from making those feather cuff jeans was the impracticality of washing them, but this! Could add them to the bottom of skinny jeans or even over the top of boots or with strappy sandals. AND this could also work in hair, if you put it around a ponytail to cover the elastic!
These are amazing ❤ sleeves, ankles, hair! Endless possibilities! Someone said you can use a measuring tape too to make the bracelet!! And i need more info on the top!! Use perfect under the blazer😊
YAY embroidery!! Satin edge stitch? Daisy stitch, French knots, and there is Crewel as well as embroidery!! Crewel is bigger with yarn traditionally wool yarn but also beautiful shiny cotton yarns. My mom taught me young but I am in my 60s. I should show my granddaughters. They would like your DIYs too.
Hi Lovely Orly, there you go with your fabulous imagination again. As usual, I love what you are creating at the moment. Keep it up please. Always inspiring. Pats on the back to you from Great Britain, from Fiona.
I absolutely love your slap feather bracelets I just finished the first pair of what I’m sure will be many😍Thank you for the ingenious idea and your styling tips as well. You rock Orly💕💕 I did have a lot of difficulty finding a needle that was both strong and thin enough to do the job. Is there a needle you recommend for a project like this? Thanks so much Orly!
OK girlfriend I just found your channel and you are absolutely adorable and extremely stylish. Love love love this channel. Thank you for doing this tutorial. You’re the bomb.
Girl! I'm not sure what made you think of such a unique piece but this might just be one of your best yet?! Outstanding! And I'm not even a "feather" person really. But I agree with countless others...I am obsessed! Blessings from Iowa, Lauri PS: I liked @JamesPaddock's idea using men's Cuffs and Fringe...Can't forget the fringe!! I see another "Slumber Party" proj on the horizon!! 😉
Ahhh I wish I had seen this before I went to the Mean Girls musical! would have been perfect! Wonder if I can get it done before this weekend's galentines brunch......
If you have time and are really crafty, you do not need to buy boas if you have yarn on hand you can make a feather substitute out of it (however yarn is now expensive as heck, so if you don't already have yarn, buying it will cost about the same, so I would buy the feathers.) However, I found cheap and already made feather bracelets on Amazon for far cheaper than it would cost to make these and if you sell your jewelry or crafts, although this looks cool, it may be too costly to make as the readymade in Amazon are under 10.00 and buying these and making them would cost way more. I make jewelry and accessories for sale and when you sell your own designs, you always have to factor costs vs. how much you can sell the item for.
I was just going to ask if they were big enough to go around your ankles. They'd look smokin' slapped around the hem of a hot pair of leather leggings or the top of a pair of snug-fit ankle boots.
You could, but I think after a while the glue would start peeling off once the bracelet bent back and forth several times. Maybe E6000 it to start and then sew it down later on when you have more time, to reinforce it!
@@janetlyn523 Very true but what I'm thinking is if you find the seam of the boa and dot glue it down it won't effect all the feathers.(in my mind lol) Its like just gluing the back of it down and not the front so you will still have fluff to it.
Think flat flexible plastic or fabric and Velcro as the fastener at the end. Not as fun as slapping and you would have to customize it to your wrist, but it could work!
I remember my first 'slap' bracelet had a psychedelic colorway... 😍rly taking it to the next level... Your creative instincts surpass thinking outside of the box 🤩✨🤗
Trying to glue neatly around that many floofy feathers feels like it would be a nightmare. I know for me personally, if I tried that with glue I would end up with feathers stuck to everything (especially me) and the band would end up looking like an unfortunate bit of taxidermied roadkill. I would also be concerned that the constant flexing of the band would loosen the glue from either the band or the boa rope or both. But maybe not. I suppose it might be worth trying if you're way better at glueing up than the "chaos toddler on craft day" scenario I would be recreating 🤣
Would a glue gun or some other non-sewing method work? I have nerve damage and some fine motor skill issues in my hands and fingers. So many things you do that I wish I could. They wouldn't be difficult if fingers cooperated!

The fringe! The fringe!!!

I’m thinking you could go wider with velvet. Or Sherpa. Or satin. Or denim. Or faux fur. 🤯
@@DrMaryVision Oooo!! Attach 2 side-by-side to make it wide, cover with faux fur or leather like a big cuff!! (squeal!!)
My mind is blown!!!! 🤯🤯🤯My wheels are spinning! Thank You Orly!!!❤❤❤
I mean..... I would even use that on my hair over a high ponytail. 😍😍😍😍

Wow! You did it again Orly! Very creative!
Why not try it on your ankles? For booties and dainty shoes with ankle straps. Might be cool, no?
AMAZING!!!
Amazing
Great idea!
AHmazing!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 are you sure you won’t make and sell on RockNot? 🤣 I have a couple of items in my cart already and I’d love to add those! 😮
I'm thinking rhinestone fabric sewn onto a slap bracelet would look Great too!
Or fringe!
Ahhh I wish I had seen this before I went to the Mean Girls musical! would have been perfect! Wonder if I can get it done before this weekend's galentines brunch......

So cute!!! But that iridescent sequined top!!! Where'd you get or make that????
I can even see them tied around the ankles!
So oo cool 😎
Making these today
Omg wonder if you attached two together if they would work on the cuff of shoes/ankle boots.
Top demais!Gostei.From Brazil
I’d love to make these myself, but it’s February and I live in the northeast. I can’t exactly spray paint outdoors at the moment. 😅
I wonder how tight these will feel around pant/jean cuffs!! THX again, Orly, for yet another low-effort/high-impact DIY!!!
I was just going to ask if they were big enough to go around your ankles. They'd look smokin' slapped around the hem of a hot pair of leather leggings or the top of a pair of snug-fit ankle boots.
If too small sew two together
Great ❤❤❤❤
Wish I had your creativity. Love everything you do. ☺️❤️
Yes, I luv it.
Can we use e6000? I want faster results 😫
You could, but I think after a while the glue would start peeling off once the bracelet bent back and forth several times. Maybe E6000 it to start and then sew it down later on when you have more time, to reinforce it!
Do you only put the feathers on one side? Can you use glue for this project?
Are they big enough to use as an ankle strap for a shoe? Could you use 2 sewn together or would that ruin the integrity of the slap bracelet?
Slap bracelets usually have some overlap in length. I think one would be a one-size-fits-most.
Do you think using glue would work as well depending on the type of feather boa/trim you use?
I think the feathers would be glued down with it. 😢
@@janetlyn523 Very true but what I'm thinking is if you find the seam of the boa and dot glue it down it won't effect all the feathers.(in my mind lol) Its like just gluing the back of it down and not the front so you will still have fluff to it.
and the 90s have returned XD
🖤🖤
I cannot get slap B here in portugal is there another way to do this?? I really love it...
A metal measuring tape works, just round and sand the ends.
Why type of spray paint did you use?
Could you use Fabric Tac instead of sewing?
Trying to glue neatly around that many floofy feathers feels like it would be a nightmare. I know for me personally, if I tried that with glue I would end up with feathers stuck to everything (especially me) and the band would end up looking like an unfortunate bit of taxidermied roadkill. I suppose it might be worth trying if you're way better at glueing up than the "chaos toddler on craft day" scenario I would be recreating 🤣
Can't we directly use fabric glue ?
I'm sure some feathers would get in the glue, but if done carefully, that is probably another way to affix the segment to the bracelet.
I'm sure you could. Add the glue to bracelet then use a cool hairdryer to aim the feathers in the other direction as you glue them in place
Yes, I've glued feathers like this before. If it's fluffy enough you shouldn't see any glue.
Put them on the cuffs of your jeans too!
Would a glue gun or some other non-sewing method work? I have nerve damage and some fine motor skill issues in my hands and fingers. So many things you do that I wish I could. They wouldn't be difficult if fingers cooperated!
Girl...your amazing and speak my style language week in and week out😊
😱😍🥰
