    Kelly, your book, The Book You Were Born to Write, is a masterclass and a gold mine. Your recommendations are practical, organized, and most of all extremely helpful. Your advice has been gold for me in writing non-fiction self-help. The prompts and templates are worth much more than the cost of the book. I am buying an additional format, and highly recommending this to several others I know personally.
    There are too many gold nuggets to mention but a few are: write to a specific person, don't try to please too many people, create a mockup cover for focus, force yourself to make 10 what-why-wow titles, create and outline using these specific prompts. Every chapter is packed with truly useful content.
    Thank you for all your help, and such a great book!
    P.S. I bought the audible version to listen to and keep inspired on this long journey; it works great for motivation and idea stimulation. Later, I also bought the kindle version because I want to support you and this book and use many of the content prompts step-by-step.

    One more note: I was the Primary Caregiver for my grandmother, who lived to be 100 years old, and now I am blessed to be the Primary Caregiver for my mother. She will be 92 years old next month! So she is my priority, however, due to Reid Tracy, Mike Dooley and so many other writers, including YOU, I am slowly getting it towards completion. And I have Balboa Press to thank for eventually helping me to self-publish! Thank you for writing such a lovely book!

    My Dear Kelly, I thank God and The Universe for Reid Tracy, due to the fact that because of the newsletters I enjoy getting from him, he had one where he is talking with you, hence my discovery of your book, "The Book You Were Born To Write." I not only purchased your book, but there is one thing that you state in the beginning that sincerely made me cry! You state, "I'm writing this book because I believe in you!" I believe in you, too! Your massive range of experience is truly impressive! I absolutely LOVE that I now know that my book is a transformational book. I have believed in it since I first wrote the entire book by hand, I do see it as a Bestseller, and I simply can't wait to follow your visions. Blessings, Dee Dee

    If you were writing a self-help book, what would be the most likely narrative to write in?

    • @knliteraryarts
      @knliteraryarts  4 года назад

      I'm assuming you are talking about which tense or POV to write, correct? If so, it largely depends on the execution and the subject matter. If it’s a teaching memoir, I would say write in first person because it’s all about how the authors experiences can relate to the reader. However, if it’s not a memoir and it’s all about centering the audience and giving room for the audience to insert their experiences, I would say write in second person (you/we) as it is more accessible and engaging. I hope this helps!

    can a self help book be 200 pages? or is it too much? thats because the topic is very long. i actually wrote about 800 pages already. can i make it in 2 books?? please help!!

    • @knliteraryarts
      @knliteraryarts  4 года назад

      First of all, congrats on your book progress and also for realizing that 800 pages is too long! Generally speaking, in the publishing business a word count is a better measure of a books length than pages. I have no idea what size your font is, whether you're double-spaced or single-spaced, etc. But, what we recommend for self-help books is a word count between 50 and 70,000 words. Some are longer and many are shorter, but that is the right range to shoot for. Hope this helps!
