You're right on both counts. As far as this being your favorite Christmas song, I feel like a well-done version of this song (like here) is the most powerful song out there. The "fall on your knees" really needs the power to hit, and it definitely does here.
Mine as well! My mother, who has been a singer and pianist all her life was a master of this song throughout her musical career!! Brings back wonderful memories to hear such an awesome rendition!!! My mother’s still with us and still gives it a run every year, even in her older age. It’s a beautiful thing…

I heard this last year and it helped me go through a bad breakup. 1 year later, and im listening again. But this time, im in a great relationship with someone who loves me, and we plan to play this at our reception when we get married some time in the future.

This is my all time fav version of this song. Vocally it’s unattainable by anyone else and the singer makes this song her own. The guitarists also unload a masterpiece that literally can bring a tear to one’s eye.
I know it was written as a solemn song of reflection; however, I have found myself enjoying these classics when they are ramped up to a joyful and celebratory level.
And this is just fantastically well done. The band is incredible, and when she really puts the power of her voice into the chorus - I got chills, the hairs on my arms were standing out, and I was on the verge of shouting.
Always been my favorite beautiful Christmas/Christian song of praise. Thank you from a fellow metal head 🤘

I found this song on Christians Eve. I've listened to it probably a hundred times since then. It's my favorite song, right now, of any kind of music. Ms. Cowen is absolutely brilliant and awesome. And you other guys are really great, as you must to be to power this beautiful lady and great singer. All of you are truly inspiring! Thank you!
Holy fright. Just when I'm starting to think she can't push it any further she does just that. She takes off starting at around the three minute mark & didn't let up from there. It left me breathless. Superb arrangement too.
I've been searching out hard rock Christmas songs for over an hour & I'm pretty much at the end of it. Out of everything I've listened to, this was by far the best - and Cowan had some awfully heavy competition: TSO, Orion's Reign (Minniva on vocals), and an array of symphonic metal singers. I'm still a bit stunned.
Think I'll rest a moment before I listen to it again. Can't wait to share it with my FB pals.

You and Seven Spires have inspired me to truly start learning singing seriously, and I can never express in words how thankful I am for all the magic you've brought into my life with Solveig. I could honestly write an entire essay about how much I love that album and how much it's changed my life (and who knows, maybe I will!), but for now I'll just say that I love and cherish it deeply. In finland there's annually concerts arranged by some of the best known metal artist (from Sonata Arctica, Nightwish etc.) called "Raskasta Joulua" (Heavy chrismas) where they play metal versions of christmas carols. Most are in finnish but some in english too. They also have albums that can be found on youtube

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is commendable for playing rock/metal but they suck as far as a group. Savatage is their original band name and nowadays, all they are are flashy lights, fire and cheap renditions of much better bands.

I sang this to my father every Xmas day of my life. He died this year & it'll be the first year I won't be getting my Xmas day call or be able to sing it to him. This version brought me to tears, & I just closed my eyes & listened. He would've been blown away by it, incredible version. Well done :)
