Tom Petty played this in honor of River Pheonix four days after his death, on 11/4/93 at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, Gainesville, Florida. In that spirit, I can't help but think of Fran Falzarano, may she Rest In Peace.

Beautifully done! The playing, the singing, the cinematography. Loved it! I have been a fan of this song for years, since I was a teenager, I think, and in my early 50s have been playing this song in my high school classroom repeatedly at the end of a long day, either the Byrds version which I love or the newly discovered Fairport Convention version which is slower but also beautiful. And now tonight, as I prepared to do a little work for another school day tomorrow, I stumble upon this version by a guitarist that I used to admire when I was learning the instrument, Jorma, and still do today as I rediscover him with this song, along with this gentleman John who I do not recall knowing about, but who carried the voice and accompanying guitar so nicely. I look forward to returning to this video at the end of other days! By the way, I am curious: where was this filming done?

If you Google the song title, everything that appears is related to the original version, The Byrds and Roger McGuinn. When you Google Kaukonen, Hurlbut and song title it comes right up. Took me two searches. Your problem was that this wasn't the famous original version that you were looking for.
