I remember reading my local newspaper as an 8 year old kid, the movie listings back in 1979, and I remember seeing Phantasm in there like it was yesterday. Of course, there was no internet back then.
Phantasm was the first scare the $hit out of me movie that I snuck into the theater as a Child of 11 years old!! Love it and thanks……… I can still hear the Soundtrack!!!
Man what a great movie, there was nothing like this one back then. I don't know what was scarier, the Tall Man or those flying metal spheres with the spikes that drill your brains out! Great stuff. thank you 2!
Here's the plan. I'll watch the video tonight while I'm on the treadmill. That way I'll feel like I went with ya. Hexercising with the GLC. Grimm for Life!
I'm actually enjoying all your new outdoor hiking/adventures w/a spooky twist. That park bulletin board guide looked awesome. Watch out for coyotes and rattle snakes! 🐍❤🎃
I watched phantasm 2 , over and over again as a 12 year old . It had action and horror and some creepy cinematography. The hanging of the priest with the rosary . Cool video , beautiful woods , at least at daytime .
Great hike if you decide to get up to the overlook. Do it earlier in the morning if you can. Less heat, fewer hikers. I looked at a house at right near the gate a few years back. I wish I'd gotten it.
Oh my goodness Jessica love your roadside dancing. You look so pretty. And we have the Tall Man. I’ll tell you what scared the he11 out of me when I saw this. The Tall Man and his strength lifting the caskets creeped me out. Also at that time I’d never seen anything in my life about embalming so the bright yellow embalming fluid (I think they had it going into the corpse ‘s feet)? Was scary as well. The name Angus Scrimm rhymes with Grimm. Great hike Grimms!
I watched Ravager for the first time the other night and left with joy. Phantasm is a journey you don't just love, you fall in love with it. Infinite rewatch ability because... it's never over.
I loved how Jessica just took a wee little tidbit of a factoid and just built upon and embellished it, All on the fly. Great job Jessica 👏👏👍👍 Edit: In July 2019 a women hiker/transient (?) was found dead in her tent near the gate I believe. I never did hear any other particulars though.
Hiking to Mount Lowe is an awesome hike. Just take water, hydration snacks, and hiking shoes, hat, etc. Best in the spring or winter as summer is hot. Nice hike. That covered building seems to be a covered water reservoir. Nice vid.
Live you both for doing this always wondered where all this was shown both of you do such a good job in showing all these awsome site's cuddos keep up the awsome work!!
I haven't seen the movie Phantasm in many years, and I do not remember much about it other than an extreme sense of gloom and hopelessness after it was over. I have been binge-watching your content for several days now, starting with the In Cold Blood locations in Holcomb and Garden City, Kansas. Keep up the great work!
What a beautiful place! The Phantasm gates are awesome, and I'm glad they are being preserved, but so sad the mansion is gone, that would have been the icing on the cake for creepy! Love the great videos! Thanks so much for the hard work involved❤💯👻⚰
I know you guys are loving SoCal, but every time I see that nice hot sun and those 80 degree temps I am thankful to be 18 hours to the north. The PNW is just so much more comfortable (to me and the wife).
Excellent video. Like I said before I lived in California my whole life. Except for two and a half years when I lived in Texas. But I was born and raised in California. I never knew that a lot of this stuff was here. Thank you for finding all these filming locations and sharing them with us
@Mary Ann Wheeler ,i also grew up in So Cal in Riverside ,Ca i knew a lot of these locations were around ,but back in the days before the internet they were hard to find ,i found the HELL NIGHT house from the Linda Blair movie ,by accident ,i was at a book store one day back in 1986 a book that caught my eye ,it was called Mansions of California ,,as i looked thru the book i saw what looked like the HELL NIGHT house ,and it was !!! they had the address listed in the book ..today with the internet ,its pretty easy to find most movie locations !!!
@@phantomofphoenix that's pretty cool. I like how you accidentally came across that in a book. I went online and I found where the murder house for ahs is, and a couple of other things that I've been wanting to see. So when I can I'm going to have to get out there and go see this stuff
@@maryannwheeler6116Thx Mary ! I Wish i could get back there and go film location hunting , i left California in 1997 .im Living in Arizona now ..Ive only been back to California once since i left and that was in 2006 for a short trip to San Diego
@@phantomofphoenix I used to love going ghost investigating. Haven't done that in 3 years. But I would love to get out and go look for these locations for filming and stuff. I never knew all this stuff was out here. And I've been out here my whole life. Except for the time I lived in Texas for two and a half years. But still I'm a valley girl through and through.
I was in the 9 the. Grade . We loved this Movie 🎥🍿 as well I forgot about this one , thanks for adding this one to you list ..👍👍👍😎All my friends would be in one room and in front of the TV.and No parents home and , .. us kids had the best Movies ⭐💪
One of my favorite horror films of all time. It is too bad there is no acknowledgement of it's film history. Beautiful location. As you and Jessica are walking the road, it would not be too far from the imagination to picture headstones and monuments, as well as Angus stepping from behind a tree, pointing a finger and exclaiming,.. BOYYYYYY! That place would be an outstanding Halloween attraction. Awesome video! A visual feast for the Legion of Grimmlifers. You two ROCK! Grimmlifers Rule! Happy Halloween!!!
LOVE all your content! And I’m so both happy for you and jealous, cuz Jessica is so lovely and just the cutest lady ever! 🙂 Cheers and love to ya both!
PHANTASM! What a Classic! Thank you both. For doing this video. I'm such a HUGE fan of PHANTASM! Wish I could've been on this trip with you! Thanks for all the good content. I watch you alot! Hopefully I'll see ya at a convention in Indy. Someday
I only been to California once for a national tournament. But it is a amazing state, I encourage you to go. It is just very expensive for everything so take plenty of money.
LA local, and I've gone up to Cobb Estate a few times in the past. If you Grimlife guys ever wanna go hunt for ghosts there at night some time (with equip) it's supposed to be super haunted. Hit me up!
I haven’t seen the movie! It seems like a scary movie!! Great locations my friend!! Beautiful area!! Love your videos!! Love you and Jessica!! Your channel is great!! Great adventures my friend!! Much love!! 💙💙❤️❤️💜💜💖💖🌹🌹🥰🥰💕💕💜🌺🌺🦋🦋🦋🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
I know we don’t know what type of cancer the King has, but my dad had prostrate cancer for years. He received a shot of medication every 2-3 months and it was keeping it under control. He continued this for several years until his insurance would no longer cover the cost due to his age. So he was on continued treatment. Maybe the King is on a similar type of ongoing treatment, keeping whatever he has under control. Best wishes to the King and Princess Catherine.
I grew up in the area and it’s hella scary at night especially in the early 80s...’m really not sure if the Marx Brothers was the actual reason why it’s been known as the haunted forest...
one of the few films that really made my skin crawl as a teenager.......... but then I am more afraid of my own imagination..... nothing more horrific than that..........
Grimm life I am enjoying the phantasm location videos , I believe Southern California has a bunch of great horror movies locations the undeeda medical supply building from return of the living dead , the houses from A nightmare on elm street and Halloween and the mansion from hell night to name a few , I hope you make more of these videos 🤘
@alexvigil29 yes ! Hell Night house !!! nobody on RUclips ,far as i know has done a location video for HELL NIGHT ,I went to the Hell Night Mansion aka Kimberly Crest manor, back in mid 1980's , the Mansion is in REDLANDS ,Ca , right by San Bernardino ,you can take a tour of the house( only exterior shots of house and gate where at Redlands , ) interior shots of inside of house were shot back up in Los Angeles ,i asked the man who runs the tour where the gate was that Linda Blair and Vince Van Patten try to climb over ,the man told me that ''the gate was put up by the film company ,just a prop that was built and torn down after filming was done
Another location video nobody has done here on RUclips is for the 198o movie '' FADE TO BLACK '' Starring Dennis Christopher '' ,it was shot all in LA ,Venice beach , and Hollywood
phantomempire yes I live close to redlands, I have never been to the mansion but I know they do a tour of it , not sure if they still have it at the moment because of covid though , would be cool for grimmlife to do a location video , I enjoy his location videos he does a good job on them and adds a lot of info and personal opinions that make the videos entertaining
Phantasm is in my top 10 all time favourite movies, and I loved this video, but the high light for was jessica in something different to black, she looked even better than what she does normaly in the videos
I watched Phantasm for the first time after your tree video last week. It’s now one my favorite horror movies. Soo good!
I love the silver ball!
The whole series is great , 5 of them to watch
It’s so amazing! The sequel is great and part three ok but after that they dip significantly
I met the entire cast in 2019 at Scare-A-con, and had a photo taken with them. I felt like I had landed on the moon.
I want the cuda
I remember reading my local newspaper as an 8 year old kid, the movie listings back in 1979, and I remember seeing Phantasm in there like it was yesterday. Of course, there was no internet back then.
Scared the hell out of me as a child. Still a favourite film

That transition of the daytime gate to the nighttime gate was beautiful, man. Stellar work on that.
I love that you’re showing us the things left in SoCal! I live in Los Angeles too and I’ve never seen this particular place. It’s gorgeous!!!!
Love how Jessica walks off screen🙌🏼
Another Phantasm video and hexercising you are spoiling me today. The internet is so lucky to have you.
Phantasm one of the creepiest movies, but still a cult fave of mine. Love the Tall Man silver Sentinels! Both of you stay safe & stay awesome☮️✌️

Mountains lions too
My family member was found there hung I still miss him. Something very dear to me . I remember where we saw him. N found by a hiker.
The warehouse at the end is where the tall man keeps all his coffins.
Another kickass video. Happy Halloween 🎃
Great ass movie. ⚰️🪦⚱️Freaked me out when I was young.

That's my favorite phantasm,is part 2. Saw it in theaters on August 1st 1988 and terrified me😆
Later in life , I was stationed in SoCal with the Marines . I would meet the tall man at Comic-Con ..
This was a dope video - I’m loving the hiking 🥾 🙌

I looooove Jessica’s cat eye sunglasses.💓😎 Hello from Germany....btw.
I had forgotten about that super creepy back ground music...this movie really affected my brother and I in the early 80's as young teens.

Th scene where the tall man picks up the coffin and puts it in the hears is one of the most creepiest things i've ever seen
