I was kid in the 90s and remember my dad who is now in his late 70s showing us the Blues brothers movies and we watched em over n over just to hear the music and play along..I’m now 31 and I’m forever blessed to have these songs in my mental Rolodex...sooo damn Nastalgic it almost hurts..
I plays her music to my friends they say they dont like it go away and what do i hear: fuck you and all your friends! I need New friends. Sorry for my Bad englisch i am from germany.
The Blues Brothers is one of my favourite movies of all time and this song is just pure magic. This woman, this voice, this power... you can't find it nowhere nowadays. Bless your soul, Aretha
Stella was here I watched the directors cut and when they talk about filming this scene with her they said she walked on set looking like a movie star, she got everyone on their markers, put on her waitress outfit and busted this out in 1 take. There will never be anithet quite like her. ❤❤❤
You didn't especially have to be the "son of" or to be "sexy" to become a singer. Now you do have to. Also you don't need anymore to be able to do music. Someone can write your lyrics, another compose your song like he did for hundreds of other pop stars before you and your voice can be altered to fit the melody and the tempo
Heaven's choir gained a powerful voice. Everyone remembers Ms. FRANKLIN for her powerful Soul music. Does anyone remember her covering for L. Pavarotti and her version of Na-sun Dorma? She did an amazing job crossing over to Opera as well, buy you could still undoubtedly hear it was her singing it. She had a one of a kind voice here in her Earthly vessel. The angels will fight envying her as she undoubtedly drowns them out in that heavenly choir. Oh, the gospel music those in Heaven shall enjoy. Rest well, my "Soul" queen, you have earned it, for sure.
R.I.P such a wonderful voice, once heard never forgotten. I remember when I was little about 5 or 6, Mum and I dancing around the lounge to your music, fantastic memories. Sleep well dear lady x
Making her own universal sound with soul RIP Aretha Franklin you will me missed. She had such a strong and powerful connection with her words on many dimensions and I will never get tired of her music!
The bar/club I loved to go to often played this one and it always gave a great vibe. Gonna be one hell of a blast first time I hear em play this one dancing there post-corona times. Damn. FREEDOM.
I love looking back at the comment thread. there is someone from everywhere in the world. im old. I love it that so many of you love this as much as I do.
Think....think about all Aretha did for women, civil rights, and all people. Not to mention her incredible catalog of music that she's left us. What an amazing talent...Rest in Peace, we miss you already....
Increíble, simply the best
Legends will never die. We miss you Aretha. You was a great singer. Rest in Peace. I love this song because it was played in the great movie Blues Brother. That were the good old times.
I was 27 and had been living in my own apartment for a few years, when I received a birthday gift of a 50's style record player, which had me going to the local record store to purchase something to play on it. One of the 45's I came across in my search, was this song by The Queen herself. I don't recall if I picked it because I heard it and liked it, or if I just liked the title, but I definitely am a fan of it today. And like that it's featured in the movie, "The Blues Brothers"! 💪🏻😆✌🏻🌈😎😎 After checking, found that the movie had come out a few years earlier, so I could have remembered it from that, but I've been a fan of her music since I was a kid, growing up in Motown.👍🏻🌎🇺🇸

I loved the way she sounded in the 80s..I love the way she sounds in the 60s as well, but there's just something more I like about her voice as time went on..
When I was 22, I'd been living in my first apartment for about 6 months when I met a "character", who hustled his way into my life, and my apartment, rent free, and sometime around December he was going to the Tennessee to visit his family for Christmas and he surprised me with an antique record player cabinet before taking off for the airport. While he was gone I found myself at the local Tower Records looking for some 45's to play on this interesting centerpiece in my living-room. So perusing through the selection of my favorite artists I came upon this song from my past, "Think", by Aretha, so I grabbed it up,along with about 4or5 others and played it ad nauseam, or til it was stuck in my mind anyways. I tend to do things I love to excess. Anyways when this jester,joker/character returned he presents me with another small gift in the form of a little self-help book with the title "Think" boldly displayed on the cover, and I thought ,that's a strange "coincidence"/mind game.So needless to say, I ended up kicking him to the curb about six months later. p.s.- though I didn't realize it then, thinking back,I'd recalled going to Jr. High with this character, and having him-- somewhat--sexually harass me one day in the boys lockerroom,to the point of annoyance. Anyways years later saw the movie,"Blues Brothers", and thoroughly enjoyed this Motown classic anew. I'm A 😎 fir sure- I Think? No- I am!
