It was great. Celine's own interpretation. She brings to song something new and *extra*, she sings from the heart and has a charisma. Those who say that it's "horrible" make me feel dissapointed for themselfs.
Ella's singing can be characterised as warm heart and cold mind that gives her the unmatched precision. Celine may belt in Titanic but music is not just about being the loudest :)
@SonneDD Celine said in an interview that she tries not to change certain version of the song by artists she respects to show her respect toward them. She also tried to mimic Barbra Streisand's voice when they recorded "tell him" together.
have you listened to leona's version on the right? I've been listening to Celine for a long time, so i know she cant sing or hit the whistle register that Leona does in that version. plus the chick had only what 1.30secs to show her worth...and in that time it was amazing. Way amazing in comparison to Celine's.
I would like to know why we the human beings always stuck on making comparisons between things and facts which make no sense , let us enjoy the art and its way of expression, without caring about who, when or how! You liked it give a thumb up, if not just go next! Take care you all! Good job Celine, nous t'aimons
SHE IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now heres a women wit class. not like those rap videos that mainly talkl about stupid things. heres a women who just loves to talk
Thanks, but it's not about me. It's about her. She's a public figure and a singer that sings for the public. I'm part of the public and I am expressing my opinion. You do not have to agree with it. However, my singing (or not) has absolutely nothing to do with it...., lol... Actually, I prefer Billie Holliday's rendition. In my opinion, Celine Dion does not do jazz well...., sorry if it offends you. :-)
@@lastofmykind2020 I don't see the comment that you're replying to anymore, but I agree with you about Celine's jazz ability. My favorite singer happens to be Sarah Vaughan--she has numerous excellent versions of Summertime.
Sorry, I love Celine, but this was such a tacky version of it. There was no meaning in the words. More of a showcase of her voice rather than what the song was about. Horrid interpretation especially when she goes into overdirve....
Who could ever even dislike this video? She is so unbelievably talented. WHAT A VOICE!!!!
Legend.
She gets a standing ovation before she even starts.. That's a legend
Even if Celine didn't BELT, she'd STILL be the best! Her delivery is near perfect! Her approach is uncanny and her talent is seemingly endless!
Classy and stylish. A true Celine performance. Absolutely brill.
I often enjoy the way her voice sounds wihtout anything else.
everybody should watch her singing...... ha ha.... i love her ....
REIGN THE QUEEN CELINE.....
Stage presence, yes! Voice, yes! Such a winning showcase of pure class...
Celine,
We would love to hear more jazz like this. You are so good at it!!
WoW this blows me away!!
Celine is "just" the best female singer of all time.
Haters out there must accept that fact.
omg what a voice. such a great rendition from an amazing singer!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn this is fricken GOOD!!!
WOW didn´t hear this one till now!!! Perfect

C'est class, nuancé, puissant, profond...bref c'est magistral !!!
OMG amazing
Too much blabla here 😂 she's great. I only observed is when she do covers many people love to say that she's not good at it. Then sing and upload it 🙄
(L) I simply love her (L).
wow!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Celine but no one sings this better than Ella Fitzgerald!!

OHHHH...THOSE VOCAL RUNS.... love it! define white soul...

i like that she didnt sound white-pop but more black-soul. Loved it
Leona Lewis surpasses this anyday, anyway
It's a jazz version but still great vocal.
I prefer the slow soulful version but Celine is the best.
she sung "halfway to heaven" wit him;)
Because David Foster produced both versions...
HAHa~!^
@musicfan1191 Hm.. that's interesting since I find Celine's version better than Leona's..
Not bad. But if you want to hear a really great performance of this song, you gotta listen to Ella's version
No leona doesn`t.. She amazing, but no
sorry friends - yes, Celine has a wonderful voice, but here she only copied Renee Olstead (same producer) and honestly - Renee does it better...
She does not do jazz well. Great voice, without a doubt. Just does not excel at jazz. Too rhearsed, not organic enough. No jazz soul. Too mechanical.
