Erik Buell was an engineering genius in my opinion. Love the frame gas tank, swing arm oil bags, paintless panels, braking, etc. Xb12 is my favorite models or xb9 fitted with hammer 1275 cylinders
Lovely machine, I had one exactly the same 12 years ago. Love the colours and the quirky design. And it went like absolute stink on the track!!! Thanks for sharing, very nostalgic for me
I guess bikes like these belong with guys like you. you take such good care of them. I have the same one. its been used and abused. I ride it without a burnt voltage regulator. battery in a backpack. rides like a dream though. with its issues taken care of, this is a lifetime bike.
Thanks for commenting. It’s great that you ride your bike regularly. I like my little museum, but it’s a bit of a shame mine don’t get ridden more than they do
Nice bike! I got an '09 1125r. Clean. Almost stock like yours except the necessary mods to keep it running, Rick's stator and voltage regulator. EBR modified rotor with the oil hole. Race Ecm. I noticed you got a little clutch weep too. Known issue. I got an Oberon unit and mine has been fine ever since. No weep. You don't see many of these on the road anymore. It takes a lot to make them right and keep them going, but worth it.
Oh, I had a loose rotor and / or crank nut causing some knocking initially too. Tore it down and tightened both past specs. 300 ft lb. on the crank side and red loctite. No more knocking.
@@jakejohnson2400 I have them listed on the Ontario Canada Kijiji site right now. So that’s the best way. I don’t publish my contact information on Thai channel for obvious reasons

He sure was. I have an XB9R too but no xb12

I'm a bit jealous of your museum!!!! I have a small collection, but not as great or well maintained as yours!
Truth is, I call it my museum to hide the fact that I have a collection that’s out of control . It’s a habit/ addiction I can’t let go of.
I also have the same been used and abused but she still looks good… I definitely ride around with a few tool in my back pack lol
I seen the exact one on market place, cool sounding bike

I have the Eric Buell Racing ECU on this one too.
Are you interested in selling the aftermarket parts he had on it?
I have the seat and the windshield still. But I sold the bars and foot pegs
@@true-moto-resto could I contact you and possibly purchase those? Just got a severely neglected 08 that I’m trying to make my sport touring bike.

The Scratch can be polished down than the plastic are same Color through al plastic
Yes, no paint on these. I have a spare new old stock part that came with the bike, I got lucky there
What about the heat ? Is it true?
To be honest I haven’t ridden it. Long enough to honestly say
What Communist State requires inspections? PA is the one I know of .
Canadian provinces require safety inspections on any vehicle when it changes ownership if you want to plate the vehicle for the road.
Those side pods / radiator are so big an ugly on these
Buell’s are definitely not everyone’s cup of tea that’s for sure !!
