  • Are your Trafic/Vivaro/Primastar rear doors hitting your rear lights? Has the gap gotten so big in the centre that the door won’t close? Or do they just not look as lined up as they once did?
Then this tutorial is for you.
All you need is a range of star drive tools from t40 down to t20, a 13mm socket and ratchet, and a dremel/die grinder of some kind. Don’t forget your googles and ear protection though.
Determine what is wrong with your doors and then follow the instructions in the video for that particular problem.
Hope it helps! Any questions, pop them in the comments.

I’ve had a twist in my barn doors for over a year since I’ve had the vivaro. Stumbled across this vid and now my doors close! Before I had to push against the top of the door to be able to turn the deadlock key and now I don’t! Thanks for uploading the vid. Can’t believe I didn’t figure this out myself haha.

@@EndlessRoadJaz you don’t by any chance have a solution to adjusting the sliding door do you? I know how to adjust the front of the door but it’s the rear of the door that I can’t find any where to raise or lower it. I need to raise the door about 2 or 3 mm to get it to line up with the body work lines. There’s no vids anywhere that I’ve managed to fine on this. Only how to change the sliding door bracket with the roller on the bottom. Any help would be great. 👍🏼

From memory you have to access the 2 bolts that hold on the mid rail bracket. You get to these by taking off the inner door card. Best to have two people or a jack to hold the door in place, slacken the 2 bolts, move the door up and then retighten. Only problem is (as with all these doors lol) it might take a few attempts and once you’ve done it you might have to adjust at the front again after.

Really helpful. The gap on my doors has been really annoying me. I'll add this the list of things to do to my van.

Aligning panel's and doors is a art form in itself and makes all the difference. Excellent video 👍👍💪

Thanks. It’s definitely easier if you have 2 people. I managed it on my own but using a jack which is basically acting as a 2nd person.

Very thorough, but that sounds a right palaver. Adding some washers or a plate to the door side of the hinge seems quite a lot easier than taking the whole hinge off to adjust them further in. I think I'm going to try that first :-) Ah yes you mentioned that towards the end. I just bunged 3 washers on the bottom LH hinge for now and that's stopped it scraping on the plastic. It'll do for now.

Yes it’s a lot of work and can take some time to get it dialled in.
