      Thank you so much, Simon! It was really fun to work on such a big bodywork repair…especially since I‘ve never done it before😅 Hopefully you could take away a some tips and tricks. Enjoy your Saturday afternoon👍🏽

    Man that repair job looks fantastic and you can't even tell there was any damage before! The paint job completely transformed the panel and it looks just like new. Your work is always top-notch. Keep it up 👍👍

      I appreciate your comment, Matt! It was really fun to work with fiberglass and with the right safety gear it wasn't even that itchy...Maybe I'll be able to repair more plastic parts with this method in the future. Thanks for tuning in and supporting!! Cheers

      I'm not that professional yet, Will! It's my first time tackling such a large bodywork repair, but it turned out better than expected. Thank you so much for your positive comment. Regards Andreas

    I don't know much about fiberglassing plastic but it looks good.

      I'm new to fiberglass myself, but I believe the best way to learn a new skill is to just go for it. I'm glad I was able to achieve this finish and I hope you'll be able to try this out for yourself if you ever have to tackle a project. Thanks for your comment! Regards Andreas

      I appreciate it! It wasn't the easiest repair, but I gave it a go and I'm very pleased with the results. I would probably blame the previous owner a little bit more for hitting a tree branch of something in that manner...and not just once. 😂 Cheers - Andreas

    Wow! As always very impressive! Is there a light kit for those indents? Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks a lot! This repair was a good challenge, especially since I did such a large repair for the first time.
      The indents on the front and the back of the cover are for lights, but for some reason they were never installed.
      The lights for the John Deere 1445 were mounted directly onto the frame of the cab, right next the side-view mirrors. The cables still exist, so I will probably find a set of LED‘s and upgrade the system😃
      If I want additional lights, I could always cut into this top cover and add them.
      Thanks for your great comment and I hope you could take something away from this video! Regards Andreas

    Nice job! Turned out perfect. How does the back of the hood look? Did you repaint the inside? (Just curious....)

    • @WorkshopRebuild
      @WorkshopRebuild  11 месяцев назад

      I appreciate it, John! I‘m very happy with the results too😊👍🏽 I only sanded down the high spot of resin & fibreglass on the inside.
      The lip of the too cover sits on a strip of weather stripping seal and I didn‘t want it to be rough up against that material.
      Once the top cover is installed on the John Deere 1445 you cannot see the inside. There is an internal cover and between the two components you‘ll have air-con, light switches, relays and what not.
      Great questions by the way. Regards Andreas
