RIP Brit Turner, BBS drummer; March 2024. He and the boys were rocking away on this one. Bitter sweet re-watching. So glad you shared this from 5 years ago! Tears for the passing of Brit. Blackberry Smoke forever.
So, then, please enlighten me. I am not a bass player. What I am missing, though, is that slightly leading groove that I have heard Bill Wyman and others pulling off. Is that it? Or what else? I should like to learn.
I thinks their strong blues and country roots make big difference. I ate a lot of blackberries in the woods when I was a kid but never smoked them. But we smoked grape vines. Gotta get back to my roots and get Smoked!
As always 1000%. Also with Tyler Briant and the Shakedown. Delicious. But do remember BBS does and has done a whole packet of original songs. Thanks to Charlie and other collaborators. Love you Charlie, Brandon, Brit, Paul and Richard. OUT OF SIGHT. Best fan in France, Lili.
One more time... ain't this hot hot hot? Beyond brilliant. Thanks Macopus... damn the "boys" are good. Touched those carpets in PDX, Or and can't wait to see Blackberry Smoke again in Europe. I'll drive, fly, train, walk to see them again. They are AMAZING in concert, with the clips, you name it. Love 'em all. Charlie, Paul, Richard, Britt and Brendon. From your best fan in France, Lili Kiki and my wonderful 16-year old cat called Starlette; renamed "Charlie Starrrrrrrrlette".
Listening for the upteenth time... more than smoking hot. Thanks Macopus. Brilliant filming, sound and BBS and the guests. YES. Thanks, merci, Lili Kiki from France.
For some reason it seems only BlackBerry can get the real feel for these old songs down. Others who have done covers, it just seems to forced, no flow. Blackberry has the flow down with the Shakedown.
The stones actually had something musically to offer society, and that's why so many great groups and musicians who actually matter like BlackBerry smoke acknowledge them and take inspiration from their music. They did a great job with this classic hit because there was a lot to work with. Take the Beatles who are often considered the greatest for some strange reason. They were just a boy band spewing pop crap , then they started taking acid and trying to change society with artistic statements. They were never about the music.
Yes they can play for sure, writing songs that really haven't been bettered and are amongst the greatest ever as well as playing them live over many decades is really a no contest to be fair.
re-watching... one of the hottest covers BBS does. Plus Tyler Briant and the Shakedown. OK, it's a cover, but Blackberry Smoke deserves to be in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. Outstanding. Lili from France.
super , i'm coming next year in the states to follow the "la route du blues" from chicago to the new orleans forgive me for my english but i'm belgian and usualy, i'm speeking only french...
The great bands can cover anything , check out Smokes version of Fairies wear boots and The Rover/Houses of the Holy ,they comprehensively cover Skynyrd as well.i saw them in the Uk about six years ago and it was only £12 a ticket !!!!!!! Amazing talent.
You cannot do stones without a Mick Taylor tribute dude, he was the vintage stones...That said there are better songs to cover and these guys are great enough to nail them.

❤❤❤
Best band going right now. IMO.
Meanwhile Bass player is killing it!!! and only those who listen can hear it..
Right on...Only those that know how bass should be played can hear it... Strangely enough, Baby LaStange is my fav. Heart song...
First thing I noticed most pleasantly.
I told you these guys are great!
Yup. He's just standing back like the long lost brother of ZZ Top killing it.
So, then, please enlighten me. I am not a bass player. What I am missing, though, is that slightly leading groove that I have heard Bill Wyman and others pulling off. Is that it? Or what else? I should like to learn.
Probably the best band in the world!!
For sure.
Huh? Try again - you get two more guesses....
you might just be correct
Not even close to top 30. They're pale imitation of the previous much better southern rock bands.
Amen to that!
And once again someone is channeling the great Mick Taylor. Rock n roll may not be dead after all
Paul Jackson is a top notch player. He doesn't get to play much because he is a faithful side man.
Blackberry smoke/killing it 🤘
You never know what your gonna get from these guys all the way from Black Sabbath to the Stones! These guy's are versatile!
That's exactly why they have had true fans for more than 10yrs now ✌️❤️🌼
I thinks their strong blues and country roots make big difference. I ate a lot of blackberries in the woods when I was a kid but never smoked them. But we smoked grape vines. Gotta get back to my roots and get Smoked!
Paul Jackson getting off the leash to jam out a nice solo... Dude can shred when he gets a chance...
Good ole Georgia boy
They nailed it !
The bass in this is killer!! ✌️❤️🎶
The stones would be proud of this good stuff
Hell to the YEAH! Seein' them next week in Mississippi! Can't wait. 41st show in 5 yrs! That's how good these guys are!

These guys are great at covers. Sounds great! YOU GUYS ROCK !! 🤟🤟
This is so cool I love it!
Great cover as always, love Richard's "Buckaroo" Bass ......
Crushed it. Fantastic.
One of the tightest live bands on the planet
BULL💩, by far the sloppiest, crummiest version of Sympathy for the Devil ever performed, blackberry smoke sucks!!!
Going to see them in Glasgow, in couple days time. So looking forward to it 🎸
Great stuff. Makes the song fresh
Love this band, GREAT tunage . ! . Thanks men . . .

Tight. That the bass player's job. Well done Richard. As usual
Well that was hot, hot. Seen the Stones twice, and this was one great cover. Merci BBS. See you in PDX Feb 2019. Lili Kiki
A Les Paul solo with that neck pickup is always sick. Love it.
5:25 sick begins....should have been longer solo but great while it lasted.
Outstanding, such a great groove

Bad ass! Was lucky enough to be at this show. Good Stuff!!
Who are the Two guy's playing with them Aaron?
Where was this in Detroit i left there a long time ago but would have went back for this excellent cover.
Brainstain this is the opening act joining, Tyler Bryant and The Shakedown. All members are on the stage. This was at The Filmore.
Paul’s solo is great! Glad he is featured more. He’s come a long way since I saw them 8 yrs ago.
Great cover !
Great version!
Listening for the upteenth time... more than smoking hot. Thanks Macopus. Brilliant filming, sound and BBS and the guests. YES. Thanks, merci, Lili Kiki from France.
And of course this group is fantastic they give me a old school vibe
These guys got it going on. A mixture of originals and covers. Great band great idea!
They have a good board dude. Mixing 4 guitars without losing that driving baseline is not easy
Epic Performance
For some reason it seems only BlackBerry can get the real feel for these old songs down. Others who have done covers, it just seems to forced, no flow. Blackberry has the flow down with the Shakedown.
Widespread Panic also does an excellent cover of this jam.
I would suggest The Black Crowes do/did a pretty good job nailing these covers. And now The Magpie Salute as well.
Gov't Mule is excellent as well, with covers and with their original music.
VERY well said!!! My sentiments exactly, just weren't easily flowing from the inside out.
@@lildouche731 Love Them!!
Richard f*&$ing Turner slaying the bass!!
Four guitar players and Turner steals the show.

SEMBRA IL DIAVOLO DELLA CANZONE BRAVI BRAVI
Lots of Marshall Tucker in there for sure !
Some dude's are born to play the bass.
You cannot do stones without a Mick Taylor tribute dude, he was the vintage stones...That said there are better songs to cover and these guys are great enough to nail them.
featuring Tyler Bryant and Graham Whitford whose dad is in Aerosmith
Yeahh good track👍
Anyone know if a professional version of this concert is available for purchase? I'd kill for a clean uncompressed track of this song..
Love the Germino
Suenan muy bien.
To bad I can't give another thumbs up.
No. Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown
Is that Tyler Bryant on the left and Graham Whitford on the right?? Nice!!

Más los oigo más me gustan , son fabulosos, si no lo digo reviento iii
The dude that thinks he's Ritchie Blackmore isn't as good as he thinks...he sure has guts though. Charlie is a God among men who think they can play.
Bill Wyman was very underrated
