It seems like almost everything Schubert put his hand to turned out to be sublimely beautiful.

I remember doing this for Grade 6 piano is 1996! I loved this playing it so much. And still do all these years later.

This sounds similar to the Edvard Grieg's style. Schubert was a really great innovative.

Franz Schubert is playing the piano on this recording? Was he resurrected from the dead?

I agree that the person who posted this on RUclips should say who the pianist is.

Sorry, you can ignore my comment of 4 weeks ago. I'd had too many temporary internet files and it was stopping RUclips from working! Lovely piece, and I have played it myself too. I think it would be rather hard for Grade 6, certainly to play well. Very good recording but some parts a little too loud I think.

It IS a wonderful piece of music, but even much more if played more slowly and softly.
At least, that's my own opinion.
    Geert Dehoux, pianist.

Add fitting words to this adagio and you would have yourself a fine, if rather moody (think Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time Is Here") Christmas carol.
