    I love this shoe. The forefoot could be a tad wider, otherwise it's almost perfect. The Archfit fits/feels great, whereas the Archfit in the Ride 11 feels pretty extreme and rolls my feet outwards. The weight doesn't bother me. Big thumbs-up.

    I wish they didn't make the V6 so heavy. The V5 was an excellent shoe.

    Had two pairs of the maxroad 4, love them. I was excited about the 6, bought it and tested for 3 miles, the Arch Flick was painful, everything else was great. They had to go back, got NB SC trainer instead, couldn’t be happier

    I agree skecher has one of the excellent supercritical foam

  • @q20a08
    @q20a08 Год назад +1

    On the question of why the 'H-plate' is needed, refer back to Thomas interviewing Tony from Skechers. He seemed to be indicating that, with all the plush foam, they need to guard against a "slushy" toe-off. Maybe they'll eventually employ different approaches for that.

    Couldn't agree more the foams in the mid soles of the skechers shoes are unbeatable ive got the Ride 11. The problems with skechers are there uppers and the lack of versatility. Many of the modern day long run shoes have more strings to their bows and offer greater versatility.

    I'm glad that Skechers still has a legit Maxroad 5 successor in Ride 11 now. The combination of cushion and lightweight in the MR5 seems difficult to reproduce. I personally credit NB for causing this Maxroad to be something else, by creating that >40mm stack category.

    The h plate helps the midsole from sinking in. Keeps the foam square and springy in front.

    Loved the 4 and 4+ even more. One of the few shoes I bought multiple pairs of instead of trying something else. This shift to heavier and stiffer with this version means I'll skip it in favor of other shoes like the endospeed-3. Hyperburst truly is the best feeling/riding midsole material in my opinion. Also, I would wear through the outsole and make the shoe unrunnable in about 200 miles (hyperburst wears as fast as chalk on the pavement) despite the "Goodyear" name being on it. This one looks like it would wear better. Bring it back down under 9oz and I'm all in.

  • @Preston79

    Same outsole as the GO RUN Ride 11, core AND carrier, but much more plush.

    The hyperice is TPU instead of eva so should be more responsive and bounce then soft

    • @q20a08
      @q20a08 Год назад +1

      Take a look back about 8 months ago, Thomas interviewing the Skechers rep. Tony indicates that they needed to use a softer 'core' foam, in order to provide a competitive step-in feel. Also seems to be indicating that the non-racing foams are actually EVA-based supercritical. TPU on the race shoes.

      Agreed as wider foot runner love the upper fit ; that last 1080 v12 midsole just didn’t work for me after 150 miles. just dead cushion and just didn’t last long enough for price . If they fix the midsole I will be right back to 1080.

      I would argue that much of it is of their own making. If you go to a Skechers outlet looking for these, or just take a brief look around online, what happens ? You get bombarded with attempts to sell you the dozens of more casual Skechers models. Hoping you will forget/ignore any difference. Quickly becomes apparent what is the core business. Not every reviewer loves the relatively scarce 'serious running' models, as much as Robbe does, either.
