Someone else commented it & I agree- these folks are the National Geographic of Urbex! It’s true!!!
These videos are just in another universe with even the biggest channels!! The humble & respectful approach to document & record the history, the backstory to the places & things, the artistic quality of the photography & videography - it’s just incredible!!!! Each video is a delight! It feels almost like actually being there in person & I always learn something interesting!!
    KUDOS!
This is pretty much the only Urbex channel I can stand to watch, if I do watch any videos on other channels I have to mute the volume & fast forward through a lot. Their juvenile approach to the entire project, the inappropriate music, the way they have to handle, poke, prod & move objects, the commotion between the explorers, their ignorance as to the history of the places & things, their disregard of dangerous situations like black mold etc is just beyond annoying & makes it just impossible for me to enjoy looking at the places filmed. This channel has NONE of those issues - AT ALL!!! There’s just absolutely no comparison to be perfectly honest! 👏👏👏👏👏

My great grandfather came to America from Croatia/ Serbia to work in the copper mines in Calumet Michigan. That is in the Upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan. They got 8’ of snow in the late 1800’s . They lived and worked in horrible condition’s but just like the last building you all went into the mining boss’s house we went into it on a tour was absolutely incredible. They had wallpaper made out of Elephant skin ( We found that to be horrible ) but everything expensive and decadent was in that house and all while the workers suffered from things like lice , being crushed to death, falling and being blown up because the owners were greedy. I believe that you can still find pictures of the house online. Thank you for sharing such an amazing piece of history.

Thank you for this excellent video. I have read about silver and lead mining in Sardinia during Neolithic times, so I found it very interesting to see the ruins of a 19th century mining town on the island. Here in the western USA we have ghost towns that originated as mining towns. These ghost towns, mostly constructed of timber, were abandoned when the mines became unproductive. Never before have I seen the destruction of a solidly built town by failure of historic waste rock piles. Here In the western USA, a similar aged mining town would have been reduced to wood fragments and splinters during such heavy rain events. Kudos to Sardinians for building such a beautiful and strong mining town. Yes, you are right, we Americans build for the decades, not for the centuries.

I know the trees that have the bean-like fruits hanging from their branches! We call them kharoub trees in my country. You can make a sweet paste from the "beans" when the outer shell hardens and turns black.
Edit: I managed to find the name of the species, it's called "ceratonia siliqua"

I grew up in La Maddalena, and was obsessed with rocks and minerals when I was a kid- we’d go to Berchidda and other small towns to go to mineral shows and we would visit some of these abandoned towns, too. A beautiful make... Nothing lasts for ever... People come and go away... remains as well... But its so interesting seeing and touching such walls and things around giving us a feel, how the people would have made, settled there, worked there. The place would have been filled with human laughs and cries situationally and now there is a silence... Silence just like it is, around the cold grave...

I have always wanted to visit Sardinia, but I had no idea that the mine even existed. That was a fascinating explore, even better that the locals were able to give you some additional information to add to the context. I loved to see the lizards, I am real reptile fan. I think the plant that you showed amongst the citrus and figs may be an 'ice cream bean' plant. I can't be certain, but given the location of Sardinia and the owner's collection of exotic fruit plants, it is a possibility. I am really looking forward to the next videos, again, fascinating countries that you are visiting. Thank you and safe travels!

Wow that was one of your coolest finds yet. Almost like a secret garden meets ghost town exploration. I couldn't believe the amount of life that was there in the middle of the ruins. Especially after some serious flooding and nearly drowning in its own waste. The stick bug was really cool. I've never seen a green one, only brown. Those plants with the purple flowers take over really fast under the right conditions. My grandma used to have one in her back yard when I was a kid. It was just a little stick with a few leaves on it when my mom planted it. In a couple if years it had completely taken over the section of the yard it was in and spilling over into the neighbor's yard. Even with cutting it back every so often it just took over. I'm impressed with how big they were and that they were all over. I feel like I should know the name if the tree with all the bean pods on it, but I just can't recall. Funny how quickly nature reclaims an area after humans leave. Here it was almost a jungle. I imagine there wont be much left of the town with in another 10 years. Looks like the decay is going at an accelerated pace. All the trees and plants ate just taking over. It might be worth another trip in the future to revisit the location. 😉

As always, stellar episode! Always fun to see the similarities and contrasts in the flora and fauna around the world. Humans can be cruel ( miners asphyxiating each other) but Mother Nature always gets the final say! Can’t wait to continue watching your next episodes!

Can you imagine the treasures you would find metal detecting all around that area? Not so much silver but other interesting finds.....

Sardinia is a very mineral-rich island; native silver and copper, and occasional small gold veins are still found. It’s chock full of garnets and quartz you can find just by crumbling loose stones in some places.

@@bwturbex I do think you should metal detecting give a try a few times. Watch on RUclips especially the German war finds. It's incredible what they find. You could find Medieval War weapons and such around those castels. It would be amazing.

Check with treasure laws of areas if you are... My father participates in organized hunts in England and everything found is cataloged and picked through. Some things he is allowed to keep but other artifacts and coins they keep. Some places have strict rules about handing over finds.

I always watch thinking, this is even better than their last video, which was hard to improve upon. And then the same thing happens on the next video. And the next and.... always by the end I am eagerly awaiting your next release. Well done, as always. Very interesting history and your storytelling of it is superb.

As one whose teeth are all artificial---and removable---I can tell you the Sicilian woman could probably have been better understood if she could've afforded dentures. (I'm almost unintelligible until I've inserted mine in the morning!)

@@oldenweery7510. Sardinian woman. 😏 It might have been the lack of dentures, but I think she also had some kind of speech impediment. I had a neighbour who spoke like that woman and she had all her teeth.
