    We LOVE them in Maryland. I spend $140 for 12 twice a month for 3-4 months every Summer. It's a lucrative business depending on the sizes you catch. I wish I could catch some for whenever I cook them, it tastes better than the stores. I'm just not into the pinchers.

    The blue crabs are worth a fortune . They get over $100 a dozen in our area. The price of pasteurized crab meat is through the roof.

    They are a very expensive delicacy here in southern Louisiana. If they could setup a molting farm like we do here and start offering them as soft shell they would make a fortune selling them to the high end restaurant's. I haven't seen as many here as what I'm see in his net in this video. Not since I was a young boy many years ago have I see that many crabs in a single trap. They need us French Cajuns to come and show them how to process and market them.

    Blue crabs are delicious. Time for a crab boil. You could check with Louisiana State University they have done extensive research on the live cycle of the blue crab. BTW, since I live in France, where can I buy a dozen or two?

    if you can ship them LIVE back to Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, NJ, Pennsylvania.
    we'll buy them all. Steam them, throw dozens onto a table, put a bib on, crack them open, use old bay seasoning, and butter. Then eat them all and order another batch and more beer.

    Just note that to Americans thinking about how funny it sounds to have the blue crab described in this way, American news reports do the exact same thing to many of the invasive species here.

    Problem? We'd love to have your problem! Mediterranean nations are sitting on a gold mine!!! You've gotta be kidding me, sell all your supply to China, we will buy all the blue crabs you got!

      These blue crabs are Callinectes sapidus. One of the most common complaints worldwide is that they have little meat.
      The ones you want are in Tunisian waters, especially in the Gulf of Gabes. Tunisia is infested with Portunus segnis, which are a closer substitute for Portunus armatus. Those are still inferior to Portunus trituberculatus, though.

    is it me, or are those mediterranean blue claws looking larger than what we're catching in the mid Atlantic

    • @karateman302
      @karateman302 Год назад

      That's because in the Mediterranean they're an invasive species. They disrupt the natural order of things so much that there are no predators for them like off the US shores. It's like Asian Carp in US freshwater systems.

    Pay me a decent salary and pay for travel and expenses, I'll come to France from the Eastern Shore of Maryland and show the watermen there how to make a fortune catching blue crab. Today a bushel of large males in Maryland is going for around $400 retail. Even if you can't get the locals into busting open some steamed crabs and washing them down with bottles of ice-cold beer, the market for fresh blue crab meat bought by restaurants would make watermen thankful that the blue crab is there and bountiful.

    Please contact that Korean government. If you allow Korean fishermen to come in, we will take them all. There was a sawtooth crab that invaded that land, now there is so much demand that they're PROTECTING the crabs from going extinct. Let's be closer friends.

    Open a visa for Thai people or Thai fishermen to enter Italy for free. Guaranteed that blue crab problems will disappear without having to use a high budget. Because we have seafood sauce as a dead stick. Blue crab for Thai people is very delicious. Steamed and then dipped in seafood sauce, very delicious.
